Thankyou Jimmy for your great videos you have helped another mobile mechanic so much - I tackled a mini one D Yesterday which the glow plugs stripped the threads on everyone - joy in the rain ! - I used a 1/4 inch not a 3/8 on your advice . Cheers
Thanks Jimmy, i have a Zafira with this engine which has 90k on it. How did you diagnose issue with glow plugs (are they estimated milage), or is there a time these need replacing to keep vehicle running well. Love the videos, thsnks
Hi, i have a 1.7 cdti astra van and I came here because my glow plugs need replacing but also the abs light is on constantly and when I start to drive there is a rumble and some vibration under the brake pedal, this only happens for a minute or so and then everything is fine and there seems to be no problem stopping but it is quite concerning, other than the first minute or so it drives and stops great, what could this be and is it likely to get worse if I keep driving it
MY comment is related to a one of your old videos where you use Vetech DPF professional cleaner to clean EGR. Unfortunately I can't get hold of the product. Please advise what alternative product I can use and what to look out for? Will any DPF flush cleaner work? Thank you
Hi i i test mines with multimeter and the look fine but i have the following fault cylinder 3 pressure variation too low and cylinder 4 pressure variation too low! Is that related with glow plugs?
Hi, I have a Vauxhall Meriva 2008 1.7. I have had the 00680 error code which say glow plug circuit A. Would you say to replace the glow plugs to try resolve first. Also the glow plus are at the back, hard to access, so do I need to remove the ecu etc and is it safe to. A newbie to cars here sorry. :-)
Late response to your comment. I assume maybe you've dealt with the issue already? 90% of the time when you encounter this fault code, it means one or more glow plugs has met their end times, and they need replacement. I reccomend replacing all 4 of them at the same time. It's like headlight bulbs, when your low beam bulbs pops on the right side, the left one will soon too, if they were both replaced at the same time. You are doing yourself a favour by doing all 4 of your plugs. The best thing you can do if you do this yourself is to drive your car around for a while so the engine reaches operational temps, around 90°c, and spray some WD-40 around the glow plugs aswell and let it soak while you drive around. This ensures that your glowplugs can be removed much easier, and you don't end up snapping the head off of them. Believe my words, i have some experience that cost me a bit too much.

Quality, the king of DPF now owns glow plug removal 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi, I thought for Astra 1.7CDTI - 2 of the glow plugs are with pressure sensor and other 2 are without pressure sensor?
How do you know which plug is faulty or do you just replace them all?
Thanks for the video.
Can I use WD40 as lubricant spray when opening the plugs?

It reads cylinder pressure so low pressure could mean damage on those cylinders
@@ORileysAutos thanks , I need to check compression then! Is not possible to be the sensor of the plug broken?
