Ovarian Volume = 0.52 x length x width x depth (cm)
Average size = 0.52 x 3.4cm x 2.4cm x 1.5cm = 6.36 ml (cm3)
Ovarian volume varies amongst individuals
Less Than 30 years: 14-15ml (approximately. Can even reach upto 25ml)
30-40 years: 13ml (approximately)
41-50 years: 11ml (approximately)
51-60 years: 5-6ml (approximately)
More Than 60 years: 4-5ml (approximately)

Hello! Quick question. Would an ovarian volume of 17.7 cm^3 for the right ovary and 16.4 cm^3 for the left with no other abnormalities (no cysts, polyps, disease, etc) be a good sign for a 31 year old female? I feel like those are measuring a bit larger than average. Thank you.

The fact that there are no other abnormalities noted, such as cysts or masses, is a positive sign. If your doctor did not express concerns about the measurements, it’s likely that they considered these volumes within an acceptable range for you.

First, locate the uterus in longitudinal view. When it is in proper profile, move to either side and you can locate the ovary.
