Tbh, seeing just a straight-up good duel like this kinda just cements that while it’s “the current meta threat”…Despia is at least relatively healthy, and not completely unfun to play against.
They don’t take 20 years for a turn, they don’t prevent you from playing the game (although can discourage it), and their recovery allows for some excellent back-and-forths. That’s better than the typical “spend 20 minutes setting up a 7 negate board that also locks down your opponent, alongside having 3 handtraps” of previous meta decks.
Branded despia I think gets way too much hate. An engine that gives consistency to so many decks with a very good boss monster that’s actually outable. And a fun deck too.

As a branded despia (with a bit of thunder dragon mixed in there because I can't let go of the past) player I would rather face a mirror match then go againts like, sky strikers or labrynth, those decks just make me not wanna play this game no mo

if only the sender has a quintet magician. he can already nuke the opponent's board during turn4. he can easily summon it via verte + magicalized fusion.
Respect this Yugi this is what skillful board breaking is like.

Dark Magician got a nice boost with Despia coming out and spell book. Once Illusion of chaos comes, they'll get even stronger.
Emotional 'Branded' damage. Lets see if we can make that a trend for everytime a despia player loses.
Ehh not so much Emotional damage, it was a good back and forth between the players.

Dark Magician deck is wayyyy harder to beat than branded. Once they set the circle and continuos trap you dead unless you draw feather. 🤷♂️🤦♂️
You dead if they Solemn Judgment it, reminds me why I run Arkbrave and Felgrand, gotta make sure they can't play their play but if my hand is trash when they do this, then I know I ain't going to make it.
The fusion monster makes it so the backrow can't be be destroyed by card effects
I play DM and ngl. That scenario is few and far in between. You would need to have the perfect starting hand, have no interruptions, and THEN you pop off.
For Branded, they pop off with one card.
In short,
“IF DM pops off. It’s debilitating. WHEN Branded pops off, that’s just it.”
Not for normal decks. They easily deal with eternal soul or circle and it's done.
But, despia, as strong as it is against monsters, is usually weak against spell traps. Skill drain for example, destroys their decks most of the time.
And then they have the dragon knight which makes the backrow unaffected

Nah Atem never cheated, he just stacked his deck and randomly just got new cards mid-duel, nothin cheaty about that at all

I remember when in a Duel a user of Black magician and me i have my leo dancer in the field but they have a tramp thats make discard 1 card for atack and we are almost 10 turns until i Draw my harppy dust and destroy all their magics
