As always, you’ve perfectly captured the essence of adventure and imparted heartfelt emotion. We are very proud to call you son. ❤
You guys raised some truly remarkable children! He is a reflection of all the best his parents instilled in him!
Well done Parents!
Trusting your children and telling them the truth, is very hard, yet all of you are growing and grateful for what you learn from each other. As my grandfather told me “The day you stop learning, is the day you die, we always learn how to move forward no matter what.” Jack you and yours are always staying humble yet strong, my respect and honor for what you’ve taught me thank you all.
Kudos Keith and Renee. You guys raised this amazing human being.
Y’all did good !!!!
I want to go back to the early days and find those people that scolded you two about how bad you were for raising your kids on a boat and how they would just not adjust well…… eat your heart out you naysayers!!!
Not gonna lie…I cried a lot during this video. JJ, the albino whale, you and Kate needing to lean on each other for support at times. I was a mess watching! But, this video also brought me great joy…for all the same reasons! Welcome back, Jack! You and your videos have been missed!
bro casually just dropped a whole documentary
right !
Jack I’ve been a follower and fan of you and your family. This vlog was by far your best. Keep following your dreams. I’m from Magnolia Tx. And spend as much time as I can in the Wyoming, Montana mountains. Tell your dad keep loosing the weight. I feel his pain, lol Be cool!!!!
I'd watch this over some of the crap they have on Discovery right now.
Awesome video Jack. Bittersweet memories of Tonga I’m sure. Sorry for your loss, what a lovely tribute to JJ ❤
Jack you are a natural.
You'd be great doing documentaries.
Best video you've done so far ❤
Keep your Holy Bible near. What a great experience for you two! Our family has been following you and Zatara since 2020. Great job!
THE MAN!
The Whittaker Bros. Bro supporting bro.
THE MYTH
THE LEGEND
every time proud on his brother - think thats so in both directions.
Jack... when you quiet your mind, and open your heart, the humpbacks have amazing lessons to share, do they not? What an AWESOME job you had, communing with such majestic beauty!
The Whittaker’s raised some wonderful kids! Jack you are such a wonderful man. Your video’s are an inspiration to everyone that watches them!
How I agree with you. He is precious they all are.
I agree 100%. I’m a young mom and I hope to raise my family up just like Keith and Renee have. Ironically my boys name is Jack also. Really appreciate the whole families videos, especially those parenting tips from Keith. Great video Jack!
@@madelinefortner5857total agreement great film maker.
Definitely ❤❤
Glad to see you back and sharing your positive experiences in Tongo. You have both a good video esthetic and thoughtful commentary
I’ve been praying for you and your sister knowing that you’d surface when you were ready. Thank you for being vulnerable, Jack, and sharing what lessons you’ve learnt and joys you’ve experienced with us. Your video is just beautiful, not simply because of the scenery but more profoundly because of your honesty. I’m sure your parents are happy to have you with them again for a spell. Enjoy your time together!
bro casually created one of the best videos ive ever seen on YT, congrats my man, you can feel how much effort and planning went into this!
Welcome back. You have been missed. I have been praying for you as you dealt with the loss of JJ.
Jack, I don’t normally comment on your videos … but, oh my … what a marvelous young man you have grown to be. The change in you since you have been, worked, grieved, played in Tonga has benefited you greatly. Thank you for sharing yourself with us. I have a tear in my eye knowing that there is such a thoughtful, compassionate, artistic, strong (new) man in our world. I look forward to watching your life journey as life moves forward.
Jack, I have been watching you and your family from the start of your journey years ago. This was one of the best put together videos I have seen. I felt the passion and heartbreak and zest for life and the awe of the whales and the sadness for JJ and everything. This was a masterpiece and you have grown so much and I don't mean physically. If anyone doubted your maturity before then this video should show them you have grown into yourself. I see great things for you.
Throughout history the most revered person in every culture was the Story-Teller who ensured the continuity of traditions and the lore of the tribe. Jack, YOU are a true Story Teller! That skill is both rare and meaningful.
What a great comment.
So true, he really does have it. Each video has shown his growth. Someday Jack could very easily be an award winning oceanographic documentary filmmaker! The next Jock Custo.
I don't say this lightly, probably one of the best things I've seen on youtube in a long long time.
Jack is back!!!!!
Yeah, and Kate too!! What a beautiful woman she is 😍💖!!
I’m glad you waited until you got this the way you wanted it, it is fantastic!!
I ordered my pendant and am so excited to get to finally see Kate’s art. We are Montanan’s that can’t wait to be closer to the ocean.
Welcome home. So sorry for the loss of your friend
Very nice video, Jack
Really emotional and one can tell you put great amount of work in compiling the story of the last several months.
Greetings from somewhere in Bulgaria! 😁
This editing, speechless😮
Jack, So glad that this adventure happened for you and Kate. When I learned of JJ's passing, I went to prayer for you and Kate. I have watched your family for years - and while we are strangers of course - it felt like a loss in the family for me as well. This last year I lost my mother. Following that I went for 10 days to Truk Atoll. I had to be near and in the ocean. I had to have the great blue to heal my heart. I am thankful for your story in this video - as I see that maybe, just maybe - the ocean helped heal a small piece of your heart. There may still be more healing to be found - but I am so relieved to see your strength enduring. Glad to see you again and still smiling. All the best to you.
Jack. That was the most amazing video you have ever posted!
Thank you for sharing it!
Thanks for showing your peers there are places and reasons to go offline, off social media, and memories made that can’t even be captured by camera. You’ve lived a lifetime of adventures some only dream of. Thanks for sharing a glimpse into your Tonga adventures - all the ups & downs.
You have a real flair for videography - I see why you take a while - you care about the end product and it shows. The "surreal" stuff will be the lasting memories - the times you think are just whittled away will be treasured. It's very cool you have captured moments of your time on Tonga. What a treasure! Thanks for sharing!!!
12 / 10 on that film. Super impressive work! Privilege to watch and thank you so much for making it.
I'm so glad to see you posting aging after the loss of a good /close friend sorry for the loss of a remarkable person he will always be remembered...
Jack good to see you. What a beautiful film. Wise words! I love your story telling style.
As a parent of three I know that you Keith and Renee did an amazing job raising your kids!
It's a lot of hard work not only filming these videos, but putting them together. You do a fantastic job and we appreciate you Jack. Welcome back!
I would come across your videos a year or two and think a kid aimlessly goofing off but as I watched you videos more recently I came to realize your a young man with substance and character. At 77 years young , I enjoy watching this tale unfold.
Jack, you made us reflect, you made us laugh with wonder, and you made us cry. I don't know what to say to you. We followed you for years growing up on Zatara. You are still a young Man, however you have the wisdom and compassion of someone much older. It is a pleasure to know you through this deeply considered video. Your parents and your family have brought us joy.
Much affection
from.Toronto
Jack,
watching you in Sailing Z since 2016 & still continue so every week. Proud of you Doff my hat to your parents. You've grown up and this vlog of the overhead & underwater footage were par excellence. Watched it over n over again. Well done.
Excellent video! You handled the tragedy of JJ's passing perfectly. We are very sorry for your loss, and we admire him even more for what you shared about him. I'm a water man myself, so it hit hard! I'm looking forward to more episodes.
So awesome to see you posting again Jack and to see you and Kate have matured so much in the last five months. Dealing with unexpected loss and grief is something that never gets easy, but just know he will always be with you in and on the water.
'You will never truly know the value of a moment, until it becomes a memory'
Captain Jack it’s good to see you back. Beautiful tribute to JJ no one could have done it better ✌🏻🫶🏻
Jack, I have been watching your family for 4 or 5 years now. I must tell you that this was one of the most enjoyable videos I have viewed in quite a long while. Bravo! You took the time to make it right. Great job! 😀
Fantastic video!! Your parents have a lot to be proud of. All of you are growing to be fine young adults.
Your experiences will help to define you, but not limit you. As sad as the passing of JJ is we know he lived a full life and embraced the adventure. Your time in Oceana has had a very maturing effect and will be something you always carry with you. We all are looking forward to the next chapter in the lives of our favorite sailing crew!
Great necklace... the perfect gift.

Beautiful video, Jack. Thanks for sharing your experience in Tonga with us. So special.
Jack, thank you for telling this story. Even though JJ's passing was most likely the most tragic event you've ever experienced, I'm so glad you and Kate were there to pour your love into his family as they mourned his loss. And from the looks of it, you all emerged from the darkness to experience some pretty amazing and wonderful things. I'm glad you chose to wait until the sun came out again before you decided share with us what you learned from it all.

I haven't watched this vid yet, I just first wanted to give my deepest condolences to you, Jack, about your mate. 💙
I'm sure Jay would be so proud to see you represent him and his home with such justice. I'm glad you got to experience dancing with whales and this beautiful journey with Kate, ups and downs. It has added to both of your growths.

Jack, you have far outdone yourself in this vlog. And apparently you have matured far beyond the actual few months of time that has passed. Keep current with your Captains license, and the future is your pearl. ❤❤❤😊
seeing the world through your eyes is so magical…. you have such a special talent
Hi from Calgary, Alberta. I was wondering how you and Kate were doing in Tonga so very glad to see this video go up. What an amazing time for you both. Personal growth and discovery about the world and yourselves. You did good and I just wish every young person was able to go on such a discovery. Here's to many more adventures and thank you for your shared memories!!!
Brilliant Jack. Sorrow and extreme happiness. What an experience you have had in your young life. Look forward to watching more in your new direction.
Jack so great to see your smiling face again and happy you are doing well. Wish you could have shared sooner so we didn't have to endure not knowing how you were doing for these past 4+ months! We worried about you and that was nerve-racking! But here you are and that's what is most important!
Great to see you back at it. Wisdom is hard-won, but always worth it. Safe travels.
What an awesome video Jack… ❤ so sorry for the loss of your friend. 😢 you are a true filmmaker.
JACK !!! So good to see you. Excellent video. Blessing.
