    The humming and squeaking ones are adorable to me. I can see how randomly shouting, "Hallelujah!", could be funny! 😁 💜

    A girl in my choir started doing these this semester and I realized it today in class but she only has this one humming one and at first I thought it was hiccups but she told me it was ticking so I looked into it and what's weird is she didn't do it last semester bc I was near her on the risers and she just started like now. But basically it was super noticeable bc we would hold a chord and she'd hum right after like "hm hm" but the first hum is higher and the second one is lower (if you know what I mean) but then after she would do this like "ha ha ha" super quick so together it would be like "hm hm, ha ha ha" and it seemed annoying and I thought she was faking it/distracting the choir bc she never did it before. After researching and then coming across this video I realized its uncontrollable. So thanks for being brave and posting this! I just don't get how suddenly she started having no history of tics. But anyways thanks for reading this too and I loved the "F you, bananas" 😂 it was funny and I don't mean that in a bad way, I respect 💗

      My friend started ticking not too long ago and I think it’s pretty funny and we laugh about them a lot. Especially because it seems like her ticks just don’t like me😂 Like whenever I stand next to her she’ll like bop my shoulder or like she has a tick where she like hits the air, but it like seeks me out whenever I’m next to her, and my whole friend group kinda laughs at it and I think it’s so funny. (She does too, we laugh about it together)

    My Auntie has Tourretes. My favorites are-
    "I've got a crock pot!"
    "Boogerf#ck!"
    "TITTIES!!"
    And she tends to knock over wine glasses. We've started putting lids on them. I love her.

    Questions: I'm 52 and I just started having tics. Blinking, rolling eyes, squinting my eyes, verbal sounds like grunts, like a whistling sound. No history of OCD, ADHD or tics as a child. I've started repeating the word "jiggle" alot. I don't know what is going on since most cases of tourettes are diagnosed or present in childhood. Seeing a neurologist this week. And thoughts??

    If you start talking about a certain tic, does it make you have that tic?

    • @MelodyLittle
      @MelodyLittle  6 років тому +9

      It can, especially if I've already been dealing with that particular tic or it's one of my more prevalent ones that "season" or week or whatever. Some tics I cycle through and others are steady regulars, so talking about one that is a regular is more likely to make it pop up, but talking about one that was an issue for me a year ago won't necessarily trigger it because it's not actually a tic for me anymore. Did that make sense at all?

    I don't have Tourett'Tourette's. I'm totally blind but exhibit some signs of autism. I say words (they're not ticks), I say words because I like the way they sound. Like I could be totally quiet and then say "River come here please." he's my 1 year old cousin. Or I could say "Hannah." (My best friend). Or the one that I say most recently has been shoes. And sometimes I say the name of my life size plush dog Collina.

    I thankfully don't form words but I do make undefined deep throated clicks, long vocal notes, quick notes, sniffs, all over unnatuals sound, and short screams. If I'm talking I'll get stuck on a word or vowel and repeat it until the tic passes.

  • @Muscles_McGee
    @Muscles_McGee 4 роки тому +1

    I know this is going to sound a little odd, but there it is. There have been people born with a twin... sometimes a genetically fraternal twin... somehow squished into them so totally they cannot be detected except by dna testing different parts of the person's body. This is what's known as chimerism. Sometimes it's actually visible, as in mosaic chimerism, but usually it's invisible. When you are ticking 'turpentine' in this video it reminds me of a person with learning difficulties trying to learn, pronounce, repeat a new or rarely used word until they have a full grasp and understanding of the novel sounds. Then they are on to the next thing. Perhaps instead of suppressing these vocalizations gently keep doing them consciously, on purpose and outloud in harmony with the part of you that's doing the ticks; it's like you are the primary or healthy chimeric twin, and the place inside of you where the ticks emerge from is the recessive chimeric twin that has trouble communicating, is socially awkward in extremis, maybe even has severe learning issues, but because they are physically enmeshed within you you are feeling the full effects of their impulsive responses without any sort of buffer or barrier between the two of you.
    While people with tourettes may not actually have chimerism as is known by medical science now, there may be something there that is not so easily detectable by science, yet. But I know from my friend who suffers from tourettes, the tics feel like something emerging from inside that he could not control, which feels to my mind like a separate person within somehow. Could also explain the comparisons with possession that were made ignorantly in the past.

    I got a question: What does the word 'turpentines' mean? I mean what is that thing?:D I don't know that word because I'm german so... yeah I was just wondering.:)
    Btw I love your way of talking and acting so much! I think it's called character. Or personality. Or attitude?? Don't even know the difference between those three words.xD
    What I wanna say is that I enjoy watching your videos, 'cause you're funny (& sarcastic sometimes, I like that) AND you are very beautiful, I like the shape of your lips OMG that sounds kinda weird, but nah I don't really care right now. I'm allowed to say that 'cause I'm a weird person, too xD so yeah kind of drifting right here...
    So I wish you and your family a lot of good times in the future! And I don't pray much, but I prayed for you. Maybe it helps somehow, gives you all strength in the bad times, I hope.

    • @MelodyLittle
      @MelodyLittle  6 років тому +3

      You're sweet! Turpentine is... distilled pine resin? It comes from trees (generally pine trees) and it's used for like... thinning paint, making stains for wood, that kind of thing. Apparently there is also gum turpentine, which is used medicinally for pains. I'm basically quoting Wikipedia here, haha! I had to look up what it is and what it's used for because I'm not really overly familiar with it, in spite of saying it all the time. :-P Thanks for commenting!

    • @linneamariequentin8216
      @linneamariequentin8216 6 років тому +1

      I think you are!:D
      Ah, thanks for looking it up & explaining it, that helped, I know what it is now. :) Now I also had the smart idea to just google it and it's the same word in german; so yeah thanks again. :-O
      Well yeah, others find it hard to understand why we have to say a word (so often) you don't exactly know the meaning of, AND of course DO NOT MEAN the word it's way.
      But for me it's about the feeling you have saying it and the feeling of pure pressure before. It's NOT that I WANT to say it, I just HAVE to. That's so weird man. I can see why you say the word 'turpentine' for example, it's the sound, the feeling, you know.
      I say 'the f-bomb', as you call it, (btw never heard that before:D), and some other (strong/bad) words. NOT that I want to, but you know that.:P

    • @MelodyLittle
      @MelodyLittle  6 років тому +2

      No worries! I think it's awesome that you are conversant in more than one language! I might be able to stumble my way through a very, very basic conversation in French, but probably not, since it's been seven years since the last time I used it at all. Shame on me!
      And a big YES to how it feels. It's definitely not that I'm picking the words intentionally, they just have the right feel to them. That's it exactly! I'm really hoping the f-bomb (haha, I'm just full of randomness unknown to the general population, it seems) remains my only main "bad" tic. I recently found out that I can *sometimes* replace it with "frozen" as a short-term coping mechanism (though of course it eventually comes out later, but "frozen" seems to hold me over decently).

And yeah, I have no idea how it comes out that fast. I ended up not playing music, didn't get the chance, but hopefully soon :-) I really want to do a song for you guys with harmony, but I'm no good at editing and I can't figure out how to get both tracks on a video, waaaah!

    If science can’t provide an explanation for an illness or problem then there must be a spiritual explanation and a cure for it...please try it.... I have healed people showing signs of this by simply reciting the words of God and blowing it into water which they drink... I never charge for it.... the words come from the heart purely with the intention to cure.... and it works. Please don’t live with this... you can be healed....your too beautiful for this.
