Beautiful quilt!! It looks like a difficult quilt to make until you break it down into steps. Wonderful job teaching Courtney! Thank you so much.

Good job showing us how to tackle something a bit harder than our usual squares, rectangles, triangles, etc. Beautiful quilt and gorgeous fabric. Thank you for all your hard work and expertise.

Thanks Courtenay! I made a stack and wack similar many years ago and had a blast seeing each block revealed, but never thought of using a border fabric and the effect it would add. I love the way it frames them. Well done!

The add a second ruler is great , I can not get around my cutting table without pulling out the table. At 82 years old I don't have as much strength as I used to. Thanks.

What a surprise! I just received in the mail yesterday, a kit, from another place that had kits of this quilt. I confess, I will be nervous about cutting that lovely border! I'm so glad you have a tutorial for when I get up the courage to do this! I won't learn to do these "stack 'n whack" blocks unless I try to do it! It really does help to actually SEE someone do it! Thank you!

This is quite a different offering from MSQC and I loved it. Good to see the demo and know that if you get through the tricky cutting it's all just straight sewing. Lots of tips and that helps.

Courtney is an awesome teacher! Many new kaleidoscope tips; and fun sense of humor!
Understandably, 'narrating' and answering questions that only one out of the thousands of us listening may have, is the "film-art-fad-of-the-month;" however, it is extremely distracting from the actual topic: a tutorial to teach us this process. Leaving questions in the comment section below, or at the end of the video (as done here) is far less intrusive. Thanks MSQC!

I think Jenny would be very disappointed in some of these comments from her community. This lady did an awsome job and we ALL know Jenny has complete faith in her so why can't some of you be a lot nicer to Jenny's friend and helper? Shame on some of you for your rude comments. I guarantee most of us have been told or have heard IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT... Its don't say anything at all but I am so saddened by some of these comments Jenny will be reading it hurts my heart for Courtenay and Jenny.

The thing I don't understand is that you'd think most of the people who watch these videos should be ADULTS. I know that for the most part 99% of everyone has been told "IF you don't have anything nice to say....don't say anything."
So, it still stands here in the 21st Century.....YES even during a PANDEMIC. IF you don't like what MSQC posts...move on, you don't have to be snarky.....it isn't necessary.

The only quilt class I have ever taken was a stack-n-whack way back in 1998 or 1999 from Bethany Reynolds herself. I was too slow, but I still remember these techniques and so this feels familiar to me. Maybe one day I will actually make a quilt this way. 😀

Another advantage of using 2 rulers is that they slide against each other. So, I'll put the 2.5" along my mark, place the 6"er next to it, and cut. Then slide one up, and then the other and you've moved up 12" or so. It helps.

Using the angle of the triangle would have been highly useful. I presume you were using a 45 degree angle to get the octagon. Knowing the angle would have shown the option of using any ruler with angle markings rather than requiring a separate purchase of a specialized ruler.
