Not that Ralph stands a chance…but I love this cliff hanger so much better than last season!! And yay for Allison and Cap. Fraser. They are the cutest! Hope we still see them next season!
i cried actual tears during the wedding scene, it truly melted my cold, cold heart 🥰 they’ve been such an underrated ship the whole season and were my favorite part of the finale. now all we need is to fix charlotte and colbourne’s relationship and to protect georgiana from fortune hunters at all costs!
@@LuvsSno Sadly, I do. He's so charming and virtually bowled everyone over, including Georgiana and Arthur. He's an artist, and likely not a very well off one like so many of his craft. There's something disingenuous about his overt attentions to Georgiana imo.
@@mysticalmargaret6105 do you think Georgiana and Arthur will ever get together? She can be pretty snooty at times so I'm not sure I would like that combo.. Arthur needs someone as nice as he is!
Charlotte being completely dead in the eyes when she says she is engaged...I can't. I know a lot of being are hating on Alexander after this episode but RALPH?! The guy she swore she wouldn't marry twice. It's not believable at all.
Maybe it wasn’t her choice. Maybe her father after two seasons in Sanditon told her that she had to marry? And maybe she loves Alexander so much that if she can’t have him she doesn’t want to be in love again. It actually makes perfect sense.
Since she doesn't love Ralph she may think this will keep her from getting hurt but doesn't realize it may hurt Ralph. Then again we know little of Ralph and he may not love her either. Hang tight. #Heybourne isn't over.
Alexander just allowed lennox t get to him and he reacted rather than be proactive. What lennox did to Alexander is textbook example of the toxic manipulation lenoox is capable off. This was lennox's last chances to get under Alexander's skin ab gave all he had. Alexander was not emotionally and mentally prepared.
@@susanfirth9883 - Colbourn needs time to forgive himself and turn the page, as Augusta noted, for the sake of his daughter and niece and himself. I hope you’ll be able to get S3!! Thank you for all your video postings. Your music selection is perfect!
Totally agree, that would be a brilliant idea! Except this time I don’t think anyone (certainly not Alison and Georgiana) is aware she has feelings for Mr. Colborne. Maybe Mrs. Wheathly….I somehow believe Charlotte has too much integrity to tie her destiny to someone she doesn’t have feeling for, it doesn’t seem to match her character. Anyhow, I never expected THAT ending! Colborne truly “lost any social skills he once possesed” 🙄
@@vanityshop5155 Tom caused it than did nothing to resolve but instead put it all on Sidney with only a week before debtors prison. I would like to see him give Charlotte a job in developing of Sanditon and stay away from her love life 😔
@@treysnharbert3234 Was there actually danger of debtors prison? I don't remember. If that's true, I guess I understand more why he quickly made the decision to marry Eliza.
I was surprised to like this season even better than the first. For whatever reason, I was never that invested in Charlotte and Sidney. Colbourne, OTOH, is perfect for her, even though he doesn't know it yet. The rough patches only enhance their romance. Alison and Fraser were actually my favorite couple this season and their romance was so sweet. IMHO he is definitely the most swoon-worthy character this season, not unlike another famous character with the same name. Thank you, Susan Firth, for taking the time to create these entertaining videos for us all.
I admit, and it's not a popular, that I had mixed emotions about Sandition when I first watched it. I felt the same way you did about Sidney and Charlotte. I didn't feel any chemistry there. The Clara/Edward thing was, uh, yeah, not something Austen would have included in that way at least. The first season kept me around due to Esther and Babbington. Esther rocks. This season made me a devoted fan. The writing was cleverly crafted to give us unique but very Austen characters and story lines. I felt the highs and lows of our whole cast of characters. They now feel like my own Sandition friends. I cried when Clara gave baby George to Esther, after all that intrigue against her. I felt sick over Georgiana's discovery of Lockheart - wow, was that painful and a close call. I cried when Charlotte broke into tears and said, "No more." and groaned while watching Colbourne take the girls away. I am proud of Tom (He was so irritating and FINALLY he gets it together - bless Mary's devoted heart) and happy for Arthur to be recognized and seen. Now how to be satisfied with the wedding of Alison and Frazer while we wait in anxiety for what comes next! Charlotte cannot be allowed to resolve herself in that way!!!! Perhaps Georgiana needs to get into the London scene to talk to Colbourne? What a cliffhanger. Bring on Season 3!!!!
I agree with all of the above! Also this thread is saving me because none of my friends have watched it (several tried S1 and weren't enamored-- I can't blame them since I also didn't fall in love with it until S2 and Fraser and Colbourne's arrivals.) So I have no one else to talk about it with who can give any relief to my feelings--you are all saving me!:) It's comforting for me to know I'm not alone during my heartbreak and anguish over some of these endings, haha... and joy of course for Alison/Fraser:) Such beautiful characters that I hope the script doesn't sideline them in S3.
@@abigailryder8315 I really hope they aren't sidelined 😶 Shows tend to do that to characters who got their 'happy ending,' but it's not like there's no story left once they marry each other. And Alison needs to be there for Charlotte in season three.
I think there are about a million of us that would be willing to do that 😂 But considering the look Georgiana gave Charlotte, I think she'll be first in line 😂
We need Susan to return and get Alexander and Charlotte back on track - perhaps in London society where he is giving the girls a more worldly view and introducing Augusta to high society? Charlotte has 11 brothers and sisters to try and take care of - back then people married to assist their families. But I don't see Ralph winning Charlotte over - Colbourne will be back and hopefully feeling more confidant to win her hand. Come on S3!!!!!
Since they have okayed another season, you KNOW they're not going to get Charlotte and Alexander together this season ...they have to tease us for next season...
@@Wlf5953 she was very harsh with Charlotte when she told Charlotte that Alexander had been through a lot and that she didn't understand. instead of maybe being kind and helping explain it .. can't remember the other times when it seemed like she was not liking Charlotte. You would think she would be encouraging Alexander toward of Charlotte since she's a wonderful person and he needs someone so badly
I love Mary! Her "look" pretty much sums up the announcement! She and Arthur have held them all together this season! I haven't seen E6 yet so I will refrain from further comment at this time.
Maybe somehow Lady Susan will be of assistance. She could encounter Alexander or Charlotte or both. Especially if Alexander is heading to London to help Augusta to be introduced into society. Thank you Susan for all your hard work with these wonderful videos. I will have them while I wait for S3. ❤️❤️❤️
Would LOVE to see Lady Susan again. I was thinking that maybe Augusta would write to Charlotte at some point. These are great videos. I have already rewatched all of season 2 and these are quick fixes when you need them!
I actually thought that Lady Susan might have a part in getting Charlotte and Alexander back together somehow. Maybe Charlotte will connect with her in Sanditon at Georgiana’s birthday party.
This season was SO much better. It was something amusing to watch the first season, but now I am TOTALLY hooked. Beyond the great acting and writing, I am constantly amused with how well they have crafted Austenesque story lines and characters - but made them totally unique unto themselves. Can't wait until Season 3!!!!
Noticed that they are playing the music from Alison and Fraser's ball dance during the first part of this clip with their wedding. Love that piece of music!
Ralph is just a safe path of least resistance. It would please her parents. It wouldn't seem terrible to have a man who seems devoted to her. Less risk for her heart, surely. Often arrangements were made like this. Charlotte's comments about her parents/family through the series makes me thinks this is what would make them happy. Like she's considering this option for them. I can feel her thinking 'enough with the drama and heartache!' That IS a real choice, but definitely NOT the one any of us wants for her!! I'm hoping Charlotte and Ralph will part ways with a "you deserve someone to love you as much as you love them" kind of deal, from C to R. I also love, by the way, that the Parkers seem clued in to Charlotte's feelings at this conclusion. She's surrounded by people who care about her who will help her see sense. And so does Colbourne. Those two need all the help they can get to find a way back to each other!
I agree completely. She and Colbourne are absolutely meant for each other. This is just them being afraid. It’s going to be a beautiful story in season three ❤️
I've been thinking back to what Lady D said to Esther, when she was foreshadowing the end of season 1, that it is better to be loved that to love, and after two heartbreaks, caused by the unilateral decison of one party in both cases, who wouldn't find that an attractive option.
I agree! I hope that all the people who care for her will look out for her the way she has for them next season. She deserves happiness and contentment.
Very well said & I so agree! She has thoughts of what will make her father happy with Ralph who seems stable yet he would not hold her heart I do not believe. The Parkers are more supportive than ever now especially since Tom realizes she & his brother Sydney were much in love!
True, and yet, it's another way of running away. Good thing Charlotte has good friends rooting for her and Augusta is strong and can see the truth. Can't wait until we get the next season!
Yes. And it’s already been filmed. Have faith. I don’t know how Alexander is going to dig himself out of the hole he’s put himself in but I believe he will before Charlotte marries Ralph.
@@twoalaskanrivers Let's hope sooo! I read some possible theories i didn't like at all! ( like how there's could be a time jump and she had married Ralph and Heyborne find themselves together years later). But, i think the writers are smart enough to not let that happen
Happy for Alison and Esther as well. Where will Mr. Colbourne and the girls journey take them? Will Georgianna find her missing relative? Will Charlotte ever find true love? The drama & suspense is killing me. How long until Season 3?
No, just started watching clips from Susan Firth. Watched the whole episode 5 then noticed the episode 6 clips were posted. Yes, this clip is making me feel hopeless so it is up to you if you want to see it now or wait to season 3.
So I just finished watching the finale. And OMG! Let's just say that Season 3 can't get here fast enough. I know the script is already written but here's my ¢2 for Season 3. Mr. & Mrs. Fraser are loving married life. Meanwhile, Charlotte drags her feet in planning her own wedding. Her father falls sick and she focuses on caring for him and her family. During 21st Georginana's birthday celebration a strange woman crosses her path. The woman works in a local dress shop, and upon seeing Georginana calls her by a different name, in a foreign language. The Colburn family are adjusting to life in London. Unbeknownst to everyone, Augusta has been writing to Charlotte. Lord Babington is delighted to have Esther back home. Little George is almost 2-,years old when Esther discovers she's pregnant. Edward has been doing hard labor on the docks of Sanditon.
@@faywong7699 I don't think so. Mrs. Wheatley has been under the charge and care of the Colburn family for over 2 decades. No doubt she's lived in England most of her life. I wouldn't stretch pass the idea that she knows Georginana's mother, in some form or fashion.
I was really disappointed that in Sidney’s belongings that there wasn’t a letter for Charlotte. I understand that they couldn’t get Theo back to ADR it, but Tom read his own letter so that was a way around it. There’s no way with Sidney knowing that he was on his deathbed, he wouldn’t have taken the opportunity to tell Charlotte that she was truly the love of his life.
@@barefootrealist246 I agree and he explained to Charlotte the reason why he had to marry Ms. Campion. Also, he road out to her coach to say his final goodbye.
This wedding was beautiful and so happy they ended up together! But I hope for season 3 Charlotte finally finds her happiness, not with the farmer, with Colburne And I hope Alison and Fraser have a part in season 3!
Hoping Season three brings Georgiana a reunion with her mother and with Otis! 🥰 Of course Colbourne and Charlotte will get it together in the end! Poor Ralph when that happens. 😆
I am too. I really liked Otis even though he made a very serious mistake which put Georgiana in danger. He did not do it intentionally. I'm sure he's learn from the mistake. Georgiana still has feelings for him but as she said to Charles Lockhart it may be because she has had no one else in her life to replace Otis. I hope the series ends with Georgiana having found her mom and she has another true love on the horizon. I think Lockhart did fall in love with her but he would make a terrible husband because he just wants to travel Europe and spend money. He never mentioned having a home or family as part of what he would do if Georgiana's inheritance was his.
@Jamie Dianne A union between Georgiana and Otis would be an enormously BAD idea. Even Sidney knew that! Not only would Otis definitely NOT be a good match for Georgiana, she also appears to have gotten over that first fling and grown a bit in the process. Georgiana is a very wealthy heiress who is also quite young and tends to be impetuous. Otis has nothing, was not entirely honest with Georgiana, and would only have led her down a path to trouble and misfortune. You can't simply drop that much wealth on a young person and somehow expect them to automatically know how to manage it and themself. That would be overwhelming, and just doesn't seem realistic.
I doubt that Colbourn would go to London--he hates the place! Maybe Bath or some other low-key place where his niece can be introduced to society... Besides, the show is called Sanditon--that has to be the main backdrop for the action.
I wish Red Planet/PBS would release the storyline as filmed...probably at least 2 or more episode worthy stuff ended "deleted". I hope there is director's cut version available
Ralph’s not the one for Charlotte, but he is very handsome and maybe he can end up with someone else. It would be sad to see him heartbroken. And Alexander is wise for getting the girls and leaving for a bit. Everyone needs to clear their minds after all that has happened. Charlotte will have her guard up, so it will be interesting to see how Alexander breaks down her walls.
I don’t think she’ll merry him. It’s a hasty decision because she was upset. She’ll come to her senses. I hope Alexander fights for his and her happiness.
If she marries Ralph I'm calling bs on the Jane Austen storyline! It was Austen who wrote "nothing can be compared to the misery of being bound without love.”
@@Ruby-hg8vl Thanks for quoting Jane Austen on that subject. I had forgotten that line, but I know her work at least well enough to know she wouldn’t support having her main female character “settle” for Ralph. I think the whole ending of S-2 sadly wasn’t one Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë or Elizabeth Gaskell would have written.
Plot twist: Sidney was so miserable being married to Eliza that he found the perfect opportunity to stage his own death, away from everyone he knew so they wouldn't need the body as proof. And he will walk back on up to Sanditon and Charlotte, under a new name.
Justin Young, head writer, has said Sidney is indeed dead and will not return. They paid homage to his character up until the end of episode six to allow everyone (fans and characters) an opportunity to grieve but Sidney is gone.
I am left laughing hysterically at the dirty "trick" the writers have played on us.......Charlotte is NOT going to end up marrying Ralph. This announcement at the very end is the hook to get us to return for Season 3 all fired up with various emotions......mine is amusement.
@@raven_in_disguise1649 Because they material for next season, I knew the path of true love would not work out for Charlotte. Ralph is attractive, but he will never reach the altar with Charlotte. The writers can't kill off another one of her suitors. Suggestion: Ralph drops Charlotte because he believes she has behaved improperly with Lennox or Colbourne. Lennox or Edward could be the source of the rumors and Colbourne could return to save Charlotte's honor . Charlotte rejects Ralph because he could have doubted her. Following the "Emma" template, Ralph has to end up with the equivalent of Harriet, a girl who actually enjoys being a farmer's wife. Maybe Frazer could have a sister to take Ralph completely out of the picture.
When Ralph first walked up everyone’s face was “who is this effing guy?!” Followed by “um…yikes”. Poor Charlotte’s face says “I’m dying inside”. When I first say season 2 I didn’t know they were guaranteed a season 3, so I was yelling “What the hell are you doing?!” at the writers 😂.
When they reunite, I hope it'll be like when Mr Tilney goes to get Catherine at the end of Northanger Abbey. I want to see Mr Colbourne bombarded by all 11 siblings. Susan, can you make a video highlighting Charlotte's heroism? I love everything about this character. Thanks for providing lots of consolation to see us through the coming months. Well and beautifully done!
I know Charlotte now looks at love equaling heartache and pain...but she made a hasty decision. I don’t think Alex is going after her...but I do think they will find themselves back in Sanditon....and right this wrong!!!
I hope Lady Susan will help them to reconnect. She’ll be in S3. There might be a connection between Alexander and Lady Susan. Perhaps they are related or meet at one of the balls Augusta attends.
@@um8351 I see so many people wanting the Colbournes to be related to Lady Susan, but I think it's more likely if they're in London they cross paths with her at a ball or some social function. Either she overhears they are from Sanditon or she hears Charlotte's name used by Augusta or something and seeks an aquaintance with them. And Augusta like Charlotte in season 1, tells all to Lady Susan and brings about Lady S retuning to Sanditon.
I think she's taking a similar road to Sidney. She's refusing to allow love to have power over her, and she had to marry because her father can't afford to support her any longer. I think something will happen next season that'll force her to delay the nuptials, and possibly lead her back to Sanditon or London to help Giorgianna find her mother. She and Coulbourn will probably meet up there. Ugh. I can't believe we have to wait another year for season 3!
I’m so upset with how this ended……. I really don’t want her to marry someone she doesn’t love….. and she has someone she loves…… her pride got in the way and she was right Alexander’s past forted there future.
I knew from S2E1 that we were going to be seeing respectable Ralph again. I had a nagging feeling that if he didn't show up in Sanditon then he'd be playing a bigger part in S3. They never would have shown us his face in Ep 1 if we weren't supposed to remember him for a reason. I really hope Colbourne figures himself out before Ralph and Charlotte get too close to marriage 😬
@@susanfirth9883 oh absolutely. I think she's given up on love as she had said to Colbourne before he blew it. So she's settling for Ralph to make her dad happy.
I bet Mrs. Weaver will do something to get Alexander and Charlotte back together just hope she is in time. Although I do commend Charlotte for standing her ground even though it hurt so bad.
Just like Season 1, this Season 2 ripped the heart out of me and stomped on it. How can Charlotte get her happy ending? I don't like Sidney, alive or dead, or Alexander for breaking the poor girl's heart or Ralph who is sloppy thirds, even tho he is handsome. I still think Jane Austen is shaking her head over this story!
I think JA would be proud. Please remember this story, like her manuscript, isn't finished. If we put our emotions aside and evaluate it based on other Jane Austen works, this follows almost perfectly what her classic love stories did. Season one ended crappy because Theo didn't come back and they weren't guaranteed another season. This season finale ended as a cliffhanger and nothing worse. BLH will be in season 3 and Colbourne and Charlotte will get their HEA. We have either six, or as many as eight, more episodes. Give it time. We're theoretically only half way through.
@@5mdavenport402 Totally agree. The longer novels were split into volumes. People read them in parts just like we are watching this story in parts. This is like in Pride and Prejudice and finishing the volume that ends with Mr. Darcy's first proposal. There is still a lot of story left to tell!
@@5mdavenport402 I am with you. I have been delighted to see the parallels between P&P and S&S in Sandition. There are bits and bobs of other Austen novels, scenes, and characters too, if people look enough. Don't people see the Darcy in Colbourne?! I am happy that we had to fight for this series to continue. It has made it that much better. Sorry to those who miss Theo, but I believe the struggle to bring Sandition back to life has made it a thousand times better!
Not dramatic enough...they will casually bump I to each other, as others said, Mrs Whitney will take charge. She loves alexander like a son, she was so hurting for him, little same as Mrs Throrthon (north and south)
Also, anybody else feel like Sidney’s illness was similar to Marianne’s in Sense and Sensibility? He was so miserable, heartbroken, and bereft, it shattered him emotionally and physically?
I like to think he was able to find some happiness with Eliza... after all they were once in love, maybe it partly rekindled a little bit for them both... he deserved some happiness too.
No, Eliza was his first true love and I think he rekindled that love long enough to make it through the few months he was married to her. Had he been married longer , I think some of the luster would have disappear from this union and his thoughts may have turned towards Charlotte and what might have been had he married her instead. I think Eliza and Sidney were a good match. Both were rather shallow people but Sidney was only aware of it when he was around people like Charlotte. She was his touch stone to reality.
So much to discuss!!!! I wonder if they'll go the predictable route and Alexander will come back and tell Charlotte why he felt it was in her best interest to let her go, or if it'll turn out that Ralph isn't the kind of ninny that we see him as and don't know much about, but he turns out to be the unwavering love that Charlotte needed all along. I've also been wondering, what if what she had with Sidney was a passionate thing, but not true love? He did marry someone else for money. Granted, it was a lot of debt, but I feel you wouldn't forever bind yourself to another, away from your love, even for something like that. So maybe we will see a true, unwavering love for Charlotte and realize that that is her true love, not what she had with Sidney? Georgiana and Lockhart --- You all in the comments are good, or I'm just oblivious sometimes. I had some doubts about Charles but it didn't cross my mind that he may be the swindler from Antigua 🤦 Really, I don't think Georgiana cares that Charles was after her money, she's just p*ssed that he wooed her, knowing full well that they are cousins. Jk, lol. I wonder if Lennox will get to thinking more about that he has a child out there. And we'll see a heart in him that feels a responsibility towards her, and if he'll try to make contact, or if he just goes forever? I'm glad Clara spoke up about Esther. Although if she and Edward were written off, I wouldn't miss them (no offense to the actors). I hope if we see more of Esther, it's with Babington. I like their relationship, I think. And it looks like Carter won't turn to foe after all. He seemed supportive, encouraging Fraser to go to Alison.
Nope, Lennox was a cowardly dog. (Credit to the actor). Did you see the disgust and shame on his face at the recognition of the child? Moreover, society at that time favored boy children--esp. to a soldier, so no chance in that society that Lennox would Ever miss a girl child. Oh, and I'm waiting to see Esther's evil stepbrother get caught stealing her husband's letters!
I've seen speculation that the actors who played Charlotte's parents in S1 may not have been available for S2 and S3. They may have chosen not to recast them, and that we would assume they were at the wedding and just unseen ❤️
I enjoyed this season much more than season 1-- and I agree with other posts that Charlotte and Sidney lacked real chemistry-I much preferred her and Alexander! I did feel that certain outcomes were predictable in this season. For example, as soon as Clara appeared, I knew that Esther would end up with the child somehow. I also thought that Fraser and Allison were destined from the beginning of their acquaintance. Anyway, I can't help but think that it will be a long wait for the next season!!
It’s admittedly a dumb reason to hate Ralph but where is he looking? Lol it’s like his sight line is off. Maybe he is in another world if he thinks Charlotte is thrilled about their ‘happy’ news. I do hope with that encouraging nod from Mrs Wheatley that AC is putting himself out there into the world and endeavoring to be better for his girls and to prove himself worthy of Charlotte. Show her that his transformation because of her influence was not in vain. And then happily ever after kiss kiss kiss.
@@susanfirth9883 Yay, I love Esther and this season was especially difficult to watch. As an actor, Charlotte Spencer must have had fun though. What a loaded story! Can we all take a swing at Edward, please!
I just couldn't bear to put together a story that was relentlessly unhappy. Not to mention I tend to run to the mute button when Edward comes on screen 😂 But now that I can see the whole story arc, I'll be able to do it. It will take some time to pull the clips together from the whole season, but what do I have now but LOTS of time until S3 airs 😂
Well I didn’t see sizzle for Charlotte anywhere. Confusion and abuse of her I’ll guided affections. Her boss, his past and dreary presence. She did however seem her happiest in the barn dancing in the first episode and last. When Allison stated we can be blind to our own affections it may apply to her sister as well.
So my theory is Lennox will be back to try and get custody of little Leo in a scheme to squeeze money out of Alexander...hence the possible court of law scenes. Charlotte would assist in the proceedings to help defend and keep the family together which will give her and AC room to reconnect and deepen their bond. What will remain a mystery despite all my obsessive theorizing is how this engagement to Ralph is gonna be broken. Because let's be real everyone...she can't marry his ass!🙄But is our beloved Charlotte really someone who can back out of her word? This is so frustrating. I read this depressing theory on reddit that she does marry Ralph and then runs into Coulbourne years later at Sanditon, where they talk and accept the fact that they were in love but it was never meant to be which, honestly guys...that's an even worse ending than season 1!! Jane would never cop out on her characters like that... Anyhoo, here's to hoping the writers did right by our beloved heroine by the end of S3. 🙏💖
Maybe we find out that this marriage was basically arranged, and Ralph is really in love with one of Charlotte‘s younger sisters. Happy ending for all! 🥰🥰
@@susanfirth9883 Same here. It's so well done and I appreciate how they've allowed for Charlotte to mature and grow into such a self-sufficient, professional lady 😌 Loving all her work outfits this season and of course, absolutely loving her relationship with Colbourne. I wish all the best to Alison and Frazer. I wish they were in Season 3. But engaged to Ralph? . I was upset how the writers split Charlotte and Alex apart. They could have used Ralph for that instead making Alex do it. My scenario is Colbourne has told Mrs. Wheatley he's going to propose. They then go after Leo as they did. As Alex comes home there's Augusta, Leo, and Mrs. Wheatley standing with Charlotte and Ralph. Augusta says in panic, "Uncle, Miss Heyward has just been proposed to!" End scene. See ya in Season 3. But....no one asked me. So...Ralph looks like he's very, very excited to marry Charlotte. Mary's face is hysterical. Georgianna is "What?" Maybe Ralph can marry another sister. I just hope if the end game is Alex and Charlotte that they do it cleverly. I have a feeling Lady Susan is involved.....
I'm glad I read the spoilers, so not surprised with this ending. I just don't know how they are going to fix this mess in only 6 more episodes. 🤷♀️ is it confirmed that Coulbourne is in season 3 at all?????
Happy for her sister..Now is Charlotte's turn..Perhaps they will go to Charlotte's Hometown so he can try to win her back. Ralph is a cutie..Hope Esther and Clara team up to get rid of Edward..He is not good for either of them..Clara can get back good with her wealthy Aunt by telling her of Edward's revenge plans for Esther..She will have to Marry him first to give her son his Family name.
I would be very surprised if they bring in a brand new love interest for Charlotte in the next season! Hopefully it's just her and Colbourne mending fences!
I hope this works out ..I never vested so much h energy into a TV show...welcomed distraction, but my God...as stressful as my job 🙃 😅 😫. Well, our moms had Luke an Laura and we have charlette and Alexander
I think Sanditon is about how much pain and suffering can humans take before they go crazy. An endurance test. I think I need to go back watching Simple Hallmark movies where any misunderstandings in a relationship get resolved in 1 hour and 23 minutes. I would love it if Benedict Lloyd Hughes was in one of them, like Rupert Penry Jones and Allen Leach.
I would prefer them to finish with Charlotte and Alexander this season and focus on Georgeanne next season. What I like about Bridgertons is that 1 season - 1 couple, cause when you drag one love story through multiple seasons it is frustrating.
There is a matter of Edward, he needs to be delt with..I think Lady D will need reinforcements...I hope Lord B beats the crap out of him for what he did to Ester.
He’s seems so sweet tho. Is he gonna be the second male lead in the next season? The nice and caring man who loves her but in the end isn’t chosen. 💔💔😩😩😩
There are so many ways that story could turn out -- but I have a strong feeling that Ralph is a childhood friend and this is an arranged engagement. Ralph needs to find his own true love, and it will never be Charlotte, because her heart is already taken ❤️
@@nicoleackerman205 good to know. Also hope the rumors about Sydney’s return are false because I love this storyline so much more and the actor as well. Bummer that I have to wait a year for this to be resolved.
@@Asteczz I know a lot of people like him I don't. I wanted her in season one to end up with Mr. Stringer not him. I think they are false only because they filmed the seasons back to back Theo supposedly did not comeback so.
Charlotte's hair done with the two roses is not her best look. The actors who are not returning must give have to give enough notice so that the story can be adjusted. Does anyone know if the actor playing Colbourne is returning for season 3?
He is absolutely returning and some photos have already been released of the two of them in S3, which has already been completely shot ❤️ Charlotte and Alexander are the primary love story of S2 and S3 ❤️
@@nicoleackerman205 I have been wondering whether the trip to Sanditon was to give her a chance to try things her way or she just jumped at the opportunity, but if they was some agreement between her and her parents that when she returned she'd marry. I hate Ralph too but I bet the writers have made him so completely lovable that some of us are going to feel badly for rooting against him. (not me) 🤣 I want the very best for him but he can't have Charlotte no matter how lovely he is. #Heybourne forever

A - I like Alexander Colbourne way better than Sidney Parker (go ahead throw tomatoes) but even during the first session I didn't warm up to him until episode 7. He was an ass. I didn’t buy or feel his broken heart. He was just an ass. Grant it, Theo James hot, but he wasn’t hot enough to ignore the ass-y-ness (yes I know that’s not a word) of Sidney. Mr. Darcy-- he was not. I even read the book based off the novel/based of series - Nope. I liked him, but only towards the end. That being said, the show did an excellent job of fading Sidney out. His death in the opening scene leaves no question (he’s not coming back), but adding the little tidbits in every episode was comforting. It almost felt like when someone is ill and dying, you know they are going to die, you recall memories good and bad, but start the process (weather you are aware of it or not) of mentally letting them go. The show gave us that. They allowed us to grieve and come to terms with it. You felt his presence, while sensing his eventual final departure. When his trunk arrives to the Parkers, you knew he was officially gone. And it reminded me of times, when my own relatives died and we had to go through their personal things days later or after the funeral. The 2 brothers on the floor, the supportive wife quietly watching, ready to help smooth those raw emotions, soft laughs, gentle reminders, sniffing noses (A very real scene to me) - I felt like we got Sidney’s death scene in that moment. I wished we knew what the man was writing in the first scene of the first episode. Maybe Sidney’s last words: Something about Charlotte finding her own love, forgiveness, and maybe whispering “Charlotte” before dying?????? That would be the nail in the coffin - pun intended - and would make my heart melt. The show could have easily done “He’s dead, get over it!” But this was well done. B - I like Charlotte way better this season. I liked her last season, but there’s a steadiness, a worldly understanding, in her. She’s more experienced, wiser, and aged (by events). She carries her grieve quietly, but you still feel it, although only those who know see it. I loved the lines between Mary and Charlotte. “You are allowed to grieve him.” “He has a widow, it’s not my place.” Charlotte takes time before forming an opinion. She’s not convinced by gossip. She didn’t fully believe Lennox when he warned her away from Colbourne. I like what she tells Colbourne. “I too have experience heartache and betrayal.” I sure that she felt betrayed and abandon when Sidney married Eliza. Even though he was forthcoming that he was doing by right his family/town & being honest with her why he was doing it and that he didn’t love Eliza. As for the engagement: Who else feels like her father arranged that? It was mentioned a few times that he grows tired with her. Or she finally agreed because she has no feelings for him and can “move on” from Colbourne and have a somewhat life? C -- Alexander Colbourne you felt his heartbreak, his guilt, his unworthiness of happiness. He purposely puts himself on the path to hell because he feels that he deserves it. He knows he’s not a good father/uncle emotionally, but, I willing to bet he has those girls set up for life. Fat dowries and huge inheritances. I got a Mr. Darcy/Colonel Brandon impression. Prideful/Silent/Grave/ Controlled until he isn’t. Has a mentality of “I will protect those I love at all cost. Even if it means them hating me.” Thus why he ended it with Charlotte fearing that he could never love her, or would end up driving her way like his first wife. He loves Leonora even though he’s not a very attentive father, and he cares for Augusta but doesn’t know how to express it. I think the housekeeper as the answers to much of his behavior. I don’t think it started with Lucy or what happened between them. I sense backstory with father / brother. 1st episode mentioned hard discipline and 4th episode mentioned father drank. Colbourne is naturally reserved. And I don’t mean that in a bad way. Personally, I preferred a more reserved hero - even in real life. I got the slight impression that Lucy was “Marianne like”. She needed doting attention and entertainment among the ton, and Lennox fulfilled that gap her husband left. Lennox is a charmer, Colbourne --like Mr. Darcy/Colonel Brandon --- is a doer not a charmer. I do wondered if Lucy was bipolar?????? Alexander and Lucy seem so different. Even Augusta noticed as a child. I do think that Lennox may have forced himself on her. But the way he lie to Leonora about being her father was a “gesture of kindness” --- or “Hell no. I don’t want a child.” Kneed jerk reaction??????? Season 3 wish list: Obviously, I wanted them to get together and live happily ever after --- but I can wait until this end of Season 3. Why? I think they need to get to know each other. Really use this time to comfort and heal with each other. Then Colbourne needs to take her like Anthony took Kate. Colbourne knows nothing of Sidney, and little of her life pre Sanditon. Soooooooooo, I would love Season 3 to pick up right after Alison’s wedding, Colbourne and the girl’s carriage breakdown (wheel???) near their farm. Charlotte’s family helps them and in return Colbourne (obviously a wealthy land owner) helps her father out -possibility solve a problem at the farm -- (3 years of bad crops, right?) and I think that this would be awesome for one of the men in love with her to see her on her home turf. Lennox would judge, and Sidney too - he was a city boy. But I don’t get that from Colbourne. I feel like he wouldn’t judge and would help around the farm. He would see that she was unhappy. The girls would beg her to come back and her father will allow her to delay the engagement. I hope we don't have to wait a year.... 3 months tops, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, thank you for that very complete assessment, and I agree with every part of it! The idea of Lucy being bipolar had never occurred to me and I can feel the truth of that. I don't see Alexander as someone who would marry a girl so completely different from him, so perhaps she pretended a love for the country? I think Lennox was not so much being kind as saying, "what am I going to do with a kid?" as you said. Always running from responsibility. I like Colbourne so much better than Sidney for Charlotte and have said so many times, and no one has thrown anything at me yet! Alexander has so many layers that I am anxious to see peeled away one by one and Charlotte is just the one to do it. Ben Lloyd-Hughes said that he was handed a "many-page backstory" when he took on the part, and I would give a lot to read that ❤️ Again, thanks for your thoughts.
@@susanfirth9883 Lennox is a combo of Wickham and Willoughby. Self centered. I want to say he did as a kindness but reality is he’s watching out for himself. But I don’t think he knew there was a child. And with Charlotte choosing Colbourne over him and the knowledge that Colbourne is raising his child as his own he had to get one last dig in.
@@lynntrevino7276 I agree with your assessment. Thank you!( I am sane. LOL.) I saw a bit of Willoughby in Carter too. Great points both you and Susan. These are my favorite discussions! My thoughts on Colbourne's wife, Lucy, based on her bedroom are that she was probably pretty, open, creative, innocent and agreeable, but perhaps gregarious and naive - like a good version of Lydia Bennett. Hell bent on socializing and joyful about being a young bride in society, but naive enough to be swayed by Lennox. He was rather abrupt and almost violent with Charlotte during after his proposal. It's good to know how many of us are analyzing so much. It's part of the fun. I have said it elsewhere, but I think losing Leo and having to reboot this series has made it that much better.
Yes, I love that! And then in the next scene, Lennox is turning the toy soldier over in his hands. He obviously didn't like it there on the ground to be trampled 🙄
The look on Georgianna's face at the end. Like girlfriend we really need to talk.
They were all ready to fallover
😂 true.
Yes! Georgianna...come get your friend and talk to her! She doesn't need to marry him. Extra points for Ralph, he is a cutie.
"girlfriend we really need to talk" haha you hit it spot on, that is exactly her expression:)

I wish they showed fraser saying his marriage vows

@@LuvsSno Sadly, I do. He's so charming and virtually bowled everyone over, including Georgiana and Arthur. He's an artist, and likely not a very well off one like so many of his craft. There's something disingenuous about his overt attentions to Georgiana imo.
@@mysticalmargaret6105 do you think Georgiana and Arthur will ever get together? She can be pretty snooty at times so I'm not sure I would like that combo.. Arthur needs someone as nice as he is!
Charlotte looks very pretty with the simplest adornments.

It would be nice for Tom to bring Charlotte happiness & bliss this time, since he is the one that took it from her last season.
That's brilliant
Tom should tell Colburne
About Charlotte's upcoming loveless marriage
Ps was highly disappointed
I never felt like it all fell on Tom. It was Sidney's decision. They could have found another way to get the money.
I agree completely! And you're welcome ❤️
@Miriam A. ZAVALA She gets a happy ending :)

Would LOVE to see Lady Susan again. I was thinking that maybe Augusta would write to Charlotte at some point. These are great videos. I have already rewatched all of season 2 and these are quick fixes when you need them!
Is this the last episode?? I thought there would be 8 episodes like I. Season 1!! 😧
Agree! I think Lady Susan will have a big part to play!
Another thing...thanks for the uploads!
You are so right here. When Charlotte said, "NO more," my heart broke for her. She just wants peace for awhile and can't look past that.
Very well said & I so agree! She has thoughts of what will make her father happy with Ralph who seems stable yet he would not hold her heart I do not believe. The Parkers are more supportive than ever now especially since Tom realizes she & his brother Sydney were much in love!
At least AC's not shutting himself away. He's going out into the world with his girls.
I hope Mr. Colbourn gains confidence and follows Mr. Darcy: “I shall conquer this. I SHALL.” He reminds me a bit of Darcy and Colonel Brandon.

Mr.

And I hope Alison and Fraser have a part in season 3!
Hoping Season three brings Georgiana a reunion with her mother and with Otis! 🥰
Of course Colbourne and Charlotte will get it together in the end!
I hope that is season 2 they all go to London, Charlotte to help Georgiana to find her mother and that she see's Mr Colbourne there.
I would be interested in seeing our characters take on London society!
YESSSSS!!!!! This!!!👆🏻👆🏻👆🏻❤️
I doubt that Colbourn would go to London--he hates the place!
If she actually marries him at the end of season three this the most in disguise depressing show ever.

@@um8351 I see so many people wanting the Colbournes to be related to Lady Susan, but I think it's more likely if they're in London they cross paths with her at a ball or some social function.
I really can't see her marrying him. This is at her father's insistence, I'm sure.
@@susanfirth9883 oh absolutely. I think she's given up on love as she had said to Colbourne before he blew it. So she's settling for Ralph to make her dad happy.
@@melissajoe1964 Or because she's tired of drama & just wants to live a good life with someone who truly loves her. She's been really hurt...twice!
I bet Mrs. Weaver will do something to get Alexander and Charlotte back together just hope she is in time. Although I do commend Charlotte for standing her ground even though it hurt so bad.
Annnnnnndddd....CUT!🎬
I'm just TOO DONE...PERIODT!!
👏👏Brava, SANDITON....BRAVA.
All of the rooms Charlotte brought life to are now darkened once more…so sad 😭 😭 What will Alexander do now?
Rise from the ashes. All of them will ❤️
Just like Season 1, this Season 2 ripped the heart out of me and stomped on it. How can Charlotte get her happy ending? I don't like Sidney, alive or dead, or Alexander for breaking the poor girl's heart or Ralph who is sloppy thirds, even tho he is handsome. I still think Jane Austen is shaking her head over this story!
Exactly. What would Jane Austin have written as the ending instead?
Bring back Mr. Stringer!!!
Maybe his carriage will break down in front of her house like Tom and Mary's in the first season. 😊
I hadn't thought of that. Good catch! It's fun comparing Austen characters and plots with the show.
I agree
Ralph is the new Eliza.
Georgiana and Lockhart ---
You all in the comments are good, or I'm just oblivious sometimes. I had some doubts about Charles but it didn't cross my mind that he may be the swindler from Antigua 🤦
Really, I don't think Georgiana cares that Charles was after her money, she's just p*ssed that he wooed her, knowing full well that they are cousins.

OK, thanks--I can't wait to see it!
Can you post some more Allison and Fraser scenes ?
Where are Charlotte's parents? They would not have missed the wedding...
I've seen speculation that the actors who played Charlotte's parents in S1 may not have been available for S2 and S3. They may have chosen not to recast them, and that we would assume they were at the wedding and just unseen ❤️
What’s the music name
I enjoyed this season much more than season 1-- and I agree with other posts that Charlotte and Sidney lacked real chemistry-I much preferred her and Alexander! I did feel that certain outcomes were predictable in this season. For example, as soon as Clara appeared, I knew that Esther would end up with the child somehow. I also thought that Fraser and Allison were destined from the beginning of their acquaintance. Anyway, I can't help but think that it will be a long wait for the next season!!
When she told her friends that we that we are getting married she did not look happy.
Nope! I have a feeling it was due to pressure from her father 🙄 She’s not marrying Ralph 🥰
Wouldn't it be a twist if the "awful bumpkin farmer archetype" actually turns out being a happy match?
It won't. She is in love with Colbourne.
Omg WHYYYYYYY Charlotte girl what the hell?!
To give us a reason to do this at 3 am🥴
Hahahahaha. Exactly.
Love this! Haha! Especially the ending. 😆
What happens to Esther?
I’ll be putting her story together soon. I started with Charlotte and Alison ❤️
@@susanfirth9883 Yay, I love Esther and this season was especially difficult to watch. As an actor, Charlotte Spencer must have had fun though. What a loaded story! Can we all take a swing at Edward, please!
She's a survivor. I had a good cry for her at the end.
Episode 6 was a huge sigh of relief for Esther’s story! I was so worried about her
Also Ralph, no offence is just a distraction! No beef against farmers, but I didn't see any sizzle between them!
There was no no lukewarm ...nothing even before alexander bases on Charlotte's statements
Beef and farmers 🤭 I see what you did there😊
Well I didn’t see sizzle for Charlotte anywhere. Confusion and abuse of her I’ll guided affections. Her boss, his past and dreary presence. She did however seem her happiest in the barn dancing in the first episode and last. When Allison stated we can be blind to our own affections it may apply to her sister as well.

Yes, opening dance scene when Mary comes to tell Charlotte of Sidney’s death.
How many times has she said she wasn't going to marry Ralph???
And she won’t! 🥰❤️
@@susanfirth9883 HER FATHER IS PUSHING

The writers really hate the fans.
They have to keep torturing us! I don’t know how much more I can take!
Yeah, they've given us emotional whiplash, the sadists, lol.
Very good point 👉
There is a matter of Edward, he needs to be delt with..I think Lady D will need reinforcements...I hope Lord B beats the crap out of him for what he did to Ester.
Nooooooooo...

Since I am the only one in my world who watches Sanditon. I have no place to go but here to lay out my personal theories and grievances.
These are only my thoughts and opinions, nothing worth going to war over. You are entitled to your own thoughts and opinions.
FYI : Spoilers - turn back now!!!!!
“You are allowed to grieve him.”
“He has a widow, it’s not my place.”
Charlotte takes time before forming an opinion. She’s not convinced by gossip. She didn’t fully believe Lennox when he warned her away from Colbourne.
I like what she tells Colbourne.
“I too have experience heartache and betrayal.”
I sure that she felt betrayed and abandon when Sidney married Eliza.
Season 3 wish list:
Obviously, I wanted them to get together and live happily ever after --- but I can wait until this end of Season 3.
@@susanfirth9883 did you notice the army man in the grass as Lennox watched Colbourne walk away? The symbolism!
Yes, I love that! And then in the next scene, Lennox is turning the toy soldier over in his hands. He obviously didn't like it there on the ground to be trampled 🙄
