Hello, I am Thai. I have been living in New York for 15 years. I work as a hairdresser and I am moving back to Thailand in January. Welcome to visit my country. You must have been to Thailand before. The weather in Thailand is quite hot. I don't know how long you plan to stay in Thailand. As a Thai, I would like to give you some advice about living in Thailand. Thailand is rich, has delicious food, beautiful culture. Thai people are kind-hearted and like to help people in every province, especially foreigners. But there are some Thai people who like to take advantage of foreigners, but they are few. And there may be many Burmese, Cambodian, Laotian people who come to work in Thailand. And this group of people can speak Thai so well that some foreigners think they are Thai. People who like to take advantage of foreigners are in the group of people who drive taxis, tuk-tuks, and motorcycles. So when you use public transportation in this category, you should study the price and the route before traveling. How long does it take from one point to another and how much is the price? Ask for sure before using the service to prevent being taken advantage of. And if you plan to stay long term, I recommend renting an apartment in the suburbs. It will be cheaper than in the city. And it is also close to the skytrain. And sometimes you will meet beggars in Thailand. But they are not Thai people. They are Cambodians. I would like you to be careful. I wish you happiness in your stay in Thailand.
I’m Thai living in Toronto for 13 years, I plan to move back Thailand very soon, nothing good right now I hate healthcare system . Free but suck, Canada becomes India state
@@Mikomido5 Too many immigrants from India. Instead of assimilating to Canadian culture, Indian immigrants just brought over their way of life, some not so good!
I'm an English guy living about 45 minutes north of Toronto. I came here just over 20 years ago. I do enjoy canada 🇨🇦 but the cost of living has just become out of control. I'm older than you and was fortunate to get into the housing market when I came over here. ( fortunately ) When I'm done with work etc I'm planning on selling up and traveling and basically see where I like and want to stay. Thialand is top of the places I aim to go to. Bug world out there to see. Good luck to you and I'm happy to see you made the right choice. Oh to make you feel better is -14 today with lots of snow !!😢😢😢😢 Enjoy the heat . 😊😊
You make the right decision, Thailand is probably the best and affordable place to live in SEA.Variety of delicious foods, beautiful beaches, friendly people.Welcome to Thailand คนไทยยินดีต้อนรับคนต่างชาติเสมอ
I am an Asian-American in Thailand and I can agree with your reasons. Thailand has amazing oppurtunities and the day to day is an experience of its own compared to back home.
Welcome! You are now part of a historical period known as the 'Era of the White Crows,' an ancient prophecy that has been passed down for centuries in Siam, the land of smiles as you know it.
This clip is very interesting. It tells about living in Toronto, Canada. I hope Thailand will be to your liking. If compared to other places, I always follow your clips.
Huge congratulations on taking the leap and making the big move to Southeast Asia! know this wasn't an easy decision, but I'm beyond thrilled that you're chasing your happiness and creating a new life for yourself. Toronto's loss is definitely Southeast Asia's gain! Can't wait to hear about your new adventures and experiences. You're an inspiration, my friend!
As a Canadian that Lives part-time (Canadian Winters) in Chiang Rai Thailand I can vouch for everything he said is true. My wife owns a house in Chiang Rai province so that makes it super affordable for us. We travel Thailand & Vietnam every year since 2017 except for 22 months during you know when. Since the pandemic ended price have risen everywhere in the world but it's still affordable to come to Thailand. One word of caution I give is this. Before I came here for the 1st time in January 2017 I watched many hours of content about Thailand and everyone said the same thing, It's Paradise and it is, but what I discovered is that it's Paradise with a Trash collection issue. I will admit that I think because of the pandemic when no one was going anywhere, the Thai People stepped up because it is know where nearly as bad as it was. I'm guessing cleaning up gave them something to do. BTW, our favorite city in Vietnam is DaNang. Travel Safely and Be well.
Do you know the exact process for this? I am very curious. Do I just need to fly into Canada and it refreshes my health coverage? Do I need to stay within Canada for a certain about of time for it to refresh again?
@ I live In Ontario. Not sure about other provinces. But generally for Ontario, you need to stay for at least 153 days in the province to maintain OHIP eligibility. That’s 5months (I said 6months for personal reasons). If you’re gonna be away for a while you can contact ServiceO ntario and apply for an extension so you can maintain your health coverage.
Don't worry, be happy! Our country's got a backup plan. Our neighbors are still struggling with poverty, thanks to all the fighting and oppression. So, our real wages are gonna stay as low as they were 20-30 years ago. For instance, a temporary teacher only makes 9,000 baht, that's like a whopping $270 a month! No need to swear on it, it's the cold hard truth. So, cheap labor will keep flowing in for our foreign friends and city folks to enjoy for many, many years to come.
Hi man, i m a fresher data scientist graduated in montreal, i m leaving canada in 13 days after 6 years, i m not happy here, it was my dream to settle down here but its impossible to buy a house and its too much expensive for what it is 😮 Please can you let me know if ai jobs are in demand in thailand ? I m planning to go to asia
Great watch man! Im about to embark on a very similar journey but to Phuket soon. Just subscribed to my fellow 🇨🇦 If your still in Thailand by time I get there, we definitely should meet up/collab, I do travel vlog content on my channel.
I'm a bit more okay with Canadians coming to Thailand instead of Americans. Even the video wordings are already different. Americans would already brag about how BKK is New York, how America is actually Thailand. No... just no. But regardless, if you know our history, please refrain from normalizing moving here. Thailand gets away from being the target of powerful nations because we stay under the radar away from attention. Also, we do struggle with inflation and corruption. However, we do not bicker among ourselves with races or genders. We always focus on class war politically. That's why inflation is not as bad, but need improvement especially in energy sector.
Left Toronto years ago and live in Saigon and have to say I would never want to go back to Toronto. Vietnam is rapidly developing you can see the changes day by day .I also love Thailand and go all the time cause it’s cheap and so close to fly to . Both Cities are very vibrant but believe it or not Saigon has surpassed Bangkok for crazy night life . As far as crime it is low in both places but it appears Saigon has a bigger problem with phone and bag snatching so you can’t let your guard down but having said that both places have a chilled atmosphere people laid back .. Rental apartments are still a good deal in Saigon compared to Toronto but a little more expensive than Bangkok . The big difference is if you want to purchase Bangkok is much cheaper real estate prices are getting crazy in Saigon better deal to rent . Over all somethings are cheaper and some things more money in Saigon but it averages out that the two cities compare pretty close to overall cost of living . Both are great choices it’s hard to choose but you having Vietnamese parents would make it easier to live in Vietnam. You can get your Vietnamese passport through your parents and live full time in Vietnam always great to be dual citizen. Thailand you need to explore the different options.
Dude, good on you and not too far from Vietnam. What visa did you get for your relo, DTV? (and no worries if you’re still working it out, lots of countries near by for the hops).
You get a 60 day visa for free on entry for Canadians. Then you can leave the country and come back for another 60 days. Repeat. Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Saigon are cheap easy visa run options.
@TKGZONE - Actually, you get a Visa Exemption for 60 days and then you can extend it for another 30 days without leaving the country, just apply at an immigration office and pay the fee. Then, you can leave Thailand for a neighboring country like Cambodia, Laos, or Malaysia, and come back to Thailand for another 60-day exemption and a 30-day extension. This would give you 6 months in Thailand. Be careful about attempting your third 60-day exemption back to back. Thai immigration may not let you back for a third round. Hire a Visa agency for your border run; they can guide you through the process. Many times, you can cross back into Thailand after spending 10 minutes in the neighboring country.
@@kevinp8108 so you can't really just "leave Canada" and move Thailand, its more like hes doing a short term stay. You need to find a job there to stay there more than a year?
@@TKGZONE - You can live in Bangkok with $1500-$2000 USD per month. I plan to retire with $2K USD per month and that will give me a good life. I have enough for $5K USD but that is overkill. I no longer drink and party; I’m in my mid-50s.
if you start a family it might be better to move back though you can’t own a home as a foreigner, there no government assistance, the local wages are very low etc.
hey welcome to Thailand. bangkok is expensive compare to the rest of thailand. lately I have seen many westerners moving to Thailand. mean while a lot thais want to go abroad and work for the money.
I don’t mind at all! Everyone speaks English quite well here. But I do want to go to Saigon for several months just so I can improve on my Vietnamese and learn more about my family culture.
@ I’m half viet, half American in Thailand. My experience has been very good too as long as they know I’m Vietnamese. When they don’t know sometimes the service is bad and I feel it’s insulating. But overall it’s good here.
Canada sucks. Yes it's relatively safe, yes the air and water are clean, yes it politically doesn't have major threats against it, but the vast majority of people born there I know are miserable with their lives. The weather is depressing, the culture is non-existent, the community is fragmented and the cost of living is far too high.
