It's just his own opinion. Everyone has one. Different people would have different point of views. I'm Vietnamese American, and I would rate Thailand over VIetnam. Mostly because of the commie destroyed the country and the people in every possible way. That was the price Vietnamese have to pay for importing the evil system home and now they can't get rid of it.

Which country is better to live in -Vietnam or Thailand ? This is really not a fair comparison. Thailand has welcomed tourists for 30 years if not longer, whilst Vietnam has opened their country to mass tourism in just over 10 years ago. Saying this, the two countries have many similarities and some differences, pretty much like in Europe. Each country has loads to offer but which country will suit you depends on your expectation and what you are looking for in that country. A tip to enhance your living experience in either Thailand or Vietnam is to learn their language at least to a basic conversational level.

Well in term of hospitality Thailand sure has an advantage over Vietnam. Also, Vietnam is a communist country there are certain things the government allow you to say, and certain things can get you into trouble if you question or you dare to express political affiliation. However, in term of education Thailand is lacking behind Vietnam because Thais are pretty much laid-back relaxing enjoying life while Vietnam on the other hand are influence by Chinese Confucious ideology which encourage people to work harder and harder. Plus, Thailand economy is pretty much stagnant over like 2 decades while Vietnam almost doubles its GDP in the last 20 years and expected to surpass Thailand and Malaysia by 2038 ranking 21st the world largest economy.

I would say you did a good video.
And differences come down to each person's preference.
I find Thai food more spicy, and more tummy problems in Thailand.
So my view is Vietnam food is best all over.
I would say Thailand is easier all over as more speak English there. In Vietnam less talk English and that can make things harder.
Infrastructure = MRT and skytrain in Thailand is better.
In Vietnam its 1 price on food, wheras in Thailand it's 3 prices ( 1. Most expensive for foreigners, 2. Foreigners with a Thai, 3. Cheapest for only Thai people ).
I think Vietnam develop more rapidly than Thailand though.
And Ho Chi Minh City and Bankok are really comparable.
I would say night life / party life = Thailand wins by a mile.
But I experienced more scam attempts in Thailand. ( Taxi scams, boat renting scams, water jet renting scams etc ).
So I would from my experience say Vietnam feels safer in that way.
Now your very young, and many expats in Thailand and Vietnam are older, and live in luxury apartments. In high end expat places.
Traveling around one tend to stay in cheaper places.
I find HCMC to have a wide range of high end and luxury apartment buildings.
And rent there is as high or higher than in Thailand.
Shopping Malls, Bangkok has Siam Paragon, HCMC has Vincom and Takashimaya.
Bangkok have Mall Bangkapi and HCMC has Crescent mall.
I dont think Shopping Malls in these 2 countries differ much.
    Both have the same nature.
So in conclusion I would say :
Vietnam is more " relaxed / quiet ", Thailand more party.
I think young digital nomads find Thailand to be best, but older expats may prefer Vietnam.
English = when the locals talk and understand English everything get easier. And Thailand wins here. With that mass tourism over decades, more locals in Thailand talk and understand English.
Ps. More motorbikes on roads in Vietnam.
And taxi is cheaper in Thailand.
4 - 5 star hotels are also cheaper in Thailand.
    Very good review 👍

South Vietnam is nice and nicer in certain paces. They do eat lots of rabbit food. They do focus extremely on them self's and are very sharp and shrewd operators today.
They were even more screwed 50 years ago. What ever some other nations thought to convince Vietnamese todo some thing for them, must have been utter idiots.
They are not a match in hospitality, food and lifestyle to Thailand. Tolerance in Thailand is piece of mind, That does not realy exist with Vietnamese. They are 150% true to them selfs, more then anything. A very strong and national level of pride. Tourist location is OK, but living, not so much.

You should have mentioned that now in Thailand you get a 60 day visa exemption on arrival that is easily extendable by 30 days while in country. Should you want to stay longer, visa free, you are allowed two land border runs and 4 air travel runs per calendar year, each run giving you another 60 days. This gives you many months in Thailand visa free. As expected, the only caveat is, if you were to maintain your living in Thailand on visa exemption status, you will eventually be questioned and likely denied the ability to use that as a long term stay option of stay. The point here being, you don't need to do all of the work to get that DTV visa from the start.
