Переглядів 3 тис.16 годин тому
Welcome to my new condo in Bangkok. This condo unit is 45 square meters which is quite large for a one bedroom in Bangkok. The condo has lots of security so it is safe and is located in a quiet area away from the Sukhumvit BTS line. It is only a 10 minute drive to the city center which makes it a great location to live in. Tree Condo Sukhumvit 50 is a modern residential project located in Phra ...
Why I Left Canada and Moved to Thailand
Переглядів 7 тис.День тому
I want to share my story on why I sold everything in Toronto, Canada and moved to Bangkok, Thailand to start a new life. The warm climate, vibrant culture, and lower cost of living were major factors in my decision. I was drawn to Thailand’s dynamic pace of life and the chance to explore its rich traditions, diverse cuisine, and beautiful landscapes. Moving also allowed me to pursue personal gr...

MBK overrated 😂
the street food looks epic
Have you been to Tim Horton's yet? One's at MBK, and another in the same building as CDN embassy near Lumpini Park. Just if you get home sick.
20,000 baht per month?
Almost every Asian guy I know has moved to Thailand. It's a meme at this point.
i thought moving to bkk but after seeing your videos or other youtubers, well i decided to remain in KL malaysia which is more 'affordable' and cheaper than thailand(bkk). the condo i stay is in the golden triangle (bukit bintang) and i have 2 bedroons, 2 bathrooms, fully furnished, cleaning, and the surface is 900Sqfeet and it only cost 700USD/month..near shopping malls of course..and in KL, it is not as hot/humid as bkk, the traffic is not as crazy too.
Is there a reception desk to walk in and book or can I do the booking for the apartment online ?
Some condo's, you can walk to the front desk and ask. You can also use Facebook groups for bangkok rentals, Renthub, Airbnb, Fazwaz, HipFlat, DDproperty. Hope this helps!
How about vietnam ? With your language advantage there, would that be a better ? Cost of living in even HCMC I know is lower than Bangkok
That is why I plan on living in Saigon after Bangkok to test the waters and see!
Nice space thank you for sharing
You don't need to wai to everyone you see. LOL
Are you at all concerned about how all of this reverse cultural Invasion will negatively impact these countries? I most definitely due feel a sense of allowing these places to maintain their sense of uniqueness and charm. America inevitably undermines everything it touches...
Enjoy your life in Thailand.
That's a nice apartment and a great price! If you rented it through Airbnb it would cost a lot more, so you did well. We've subscribed (#704) to follow along on your adventures, and to support a fell Canadian UA-camr!!! Cheers from Mexico City :)
What did you do for work you said you made good money, I am planning on doing the same once I reach my late 30's.
Can you share about your financial plan and set up? Investments? Working remotely? Something else?
fellow canadian here ) keep it up!
ESC CAN ❤
Leaving Canada is trending on YT 😊
There are about 30 millions thai people with no jobs no money.....stay alert when you in thailand your money can fly very fast
I am leaving in thailand since 1991 never had a health assurance...just eat healthy and carefull on the road
Digital nomade is the only job here
Next, please take us to Lotus for grocery shopping to see what's available.
Based on personal experience of renting apartments and living in condos, most properties of these types typically range from 20 to 50 square meters, which is spacious enough for a single person or a couple. The price for such units is generally around 1-2 million Baht. For rent, a condo would typically cost between 15,000 to 20,000 Baht per month, while apartments start from 5,000 to 10,000 Baht, depending on the location. Why aren't larger units built? The answer lies in the high cost of land in Bangkok's economic zones, making units larger than 50-70 square meters too expensive relative to the average middle-class income. Condo designs in Thailand focus on lifestyle, meaning the private space in the units is kept smaller, while communal areas such as swimming pools, saunas, gyms, entertainment rooms, co-working spaces, and even community kitchens for dining together are increased. This creates a balance between social and private living. For those needing more space or wanting to live as a family, there are alternatives, such as purchasing a housing developments by real estate developers in the suburbs for around 3-5 million Baht (1 house have 2-3 floor), which offers more than enough space with more than 2-3 bedrooms per floor. If that still feels too expensive, another option is buying a house or condo in nearby outside Bangkok areas like Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, or Nakhon Pathom. These areas offer larger spaces at more affordable prices. However, if budget is not an issue, one can purchase a large condo (over 70 square meters) in central Bangkok, which offers plenty of space, comparable to luxury living in Dubai. Some projects even feature luxury second floor in one unit condos with 3-5 bedrooms, decorated like a high-end home in the sky. Prices for these units can range from 5 million Baht to hundreds of millions per unit some project sky high to more than 200-250 square meter per unit and you have personal car parking and garage for only your car. pricing more than thousand millions Bath. In Bangkok and its surrounding metropolitan areas, finding residential housing is not an issue if you have a budget of over 1 million baht or around 500 USD per month for rent. There is a wide range of options available, catering to various styles and locations, from comfortable to luxurious. Choices include modern properties with smaller private spaces but extensive shared facilities, as well as older designs offering more private space but limited shared amenities. For expats, it’s a haven where you can find accommodation tailored to your lifestyle and budget, with options that balance convenience, design, and comfort. 😂😂😂
Dirt cheap? Ok they will charge u more !
Love it!
I will be there soon!!!
Awesome video, how did you get a 3 month lease? Thanks
@JiakBung Facebook groups for bangkok rentals, Renthub, Airbnb, Fazwaz, HipFlat, DDproperty. Hope this helps!
If you could find a job. Then it/ good. Otherwise. What’s the point of moving.
1person in the pool in one month lol wow. People like the pool just for the status? I'd use it every day lol
How do you feel being Nguoi Viet living in Thailand?
I don’t mind at all! Everyone speaks English quite well here. But I do want to go to Saigon for several months just so I can improve on my Vietnamese and learn more about my family culture.
@ I’m half viet, half American in Thailand. My experience has been very good too as long as they know I’m Vietnamese. When they don’t know sometimes the service is bad and I feel it’s insulating. But overall it’s good here.
What is everyone currently paying for their home! Please let me know 😊
I'm seriously impressed by how affordable it is. You're really showing us that living abroad can be accessible.
Woah. This beats American apartments by a long way. Back at home they cost at least $2000 just for a studio!
Geez! American studios are a ripoff just like in Canada!
Would you consider this condo affordable if you were to move here? Let me know your thoughts 🙌
How are you able to find short term rental for 1-3 months outside of AirBnB? Do you go to the condo office directly or look for an agent? Also, what kind of deposit is required for short term?
I know exactly what you're saying .I lived and worked in the GTA all my life. Thailand is beautiful. You're a lot younger than me, enjoy
I want to study cyber security in Canada and work there for about 3 years to gain experience .
I heard Vietnam is getting better. They have luxury condos.
Dude, good on you and not too far from Vietnam. What visa did you get for your relo, DTV? (and no worries if you’re still working it out, lots of countries near by for the hops).
Currently on the Tourist visa which is 60 days. Just need to country hop to refresh it. You can also do a 30 day extension but i prefer visiting another place instead!
Thumbs up 👍 Slick
WAS IS BECAUSE WE HAVE A WALKING VAGINA OF A PRIME MINISTER?
Nice. Keep posting. Love your videos
if you start a family it might be better to move back though you can’t own a home as a foreigner, there no government assistance, the local wages are very low etc.
How much savings you have?
Hi man, i m a fresher data scientist graduated in montreal, i m leaving canada in 13 days after 6 years, i m not happy here, it was my dream to settle down here but its impossible to buy a house and its too much expensive for what it is 😮 Please can you let me know if ai jobs are in demand in thailand ? I m planning to go to asia
Thai people are very good in AI
Niiiice😎 I got to check it out on my next trip for Songkran 2025!
Canada sucks. Yes it's relatively safe, yes the air and water are clean, yes it politically doesn't have major threats against it, but the vast majority of people born there I know are miserable with their lives. The weather is depressing, the culture is non-existent, the community is fragmented and the cost of living is far too high.
This is my plan too. Move around Southeast Asia for 6 months, and return to Canada for the other 6months so I won't lose my free health coverage
Do you know the exact process for this? I am very curious. Do I just need to fly into Canada and it refreshes my health coverage? Do I need to stay within Canada for a certain about of time for it to refresh again?
@ I live In Ontario. Not sure about other provinces. But generally for Ontario, you need to stay for at least 153 days in the province to maintain OHIP eligibility. That’s 5months (I said 6months for personal reasons). If you’re gonna be away for a while you can contact ServiceO ntario and apply for an extension so you can maintain your health coverage.
Toronto and Canada absolutely suck. Worst country I've ever lived in
awesome video.
I am an Asian-American in Thailand and I can agree with your reasons. Thailand has amazing oppurtunities and the day to day is an experience of its own compared to back home.
