Was sat in the corner behind where Shane went over. The Scots had been giving us so much stick in the last 10 minutes. What an amazing finish. Will never forget it!
One of the most memorable matches in Welsh history- in 71 v Scotland there was John Taylor's greatest conversion since St Paul, in 99 v England there was Scott Gibbs and the parting of the white sea, and here the greatest comeback since JC.
Seriously, if rugby union only consisted of Wales and Scotland, no one else, it would still be the most entertaining spectacle nigh on every year 🏴❤🏴
I remember that like it was yesterday, yet another amazing come back by our welsh boys. Fantastic. The emotion was quite incredable as somewhere inside me whilst all the joy was running around my head, was sadness for scotland who had just been smashed to pieces. 14-24 with 76mins on yhe clock to come back and win 31-24 Almost like a dream ;-)
I was a student at Cardiff Uni at the time and vividly remember watching these final minutes in student digs (56 Merthyr Street) with my housemates and my mother, whom was visiting for the day. As Shane went over the line we all screamed and leaped around like idiots, only for seconds later to hear a toilet flush and my mother's boyfriend casually walking into the living room absolutely oblivious to everything. We all fell to the floor laughing. Weird, the things you remember. Fourteen years ago. It went by in a flash.
Gareth Edwards really is a fool calling the Scotland team 'The Scottish' they are the Scots not The Scottish we in England respect our friends north of The Wall❤
3 years on and that still hurts! Sat there at home on the floor staring at disbelief as the game unraveled before my eyes. And I'll still never know why Blair didn't kick it out from the restart and end the game as a draw???
GLove39 because that would have resulted in a Wales penalty. The ball had to go live before going into touch. The odds of scoring after this restart were so low that it seemed sensible to kick into play rather than kick straight to touch and give a penalty.
I remember I was working this day and missed it live. I headed over to my girlfriends to watch it on iplayer after work and was over the moon when Scotland scored not once but twice in the first half and looked like they were in for a famous win away. It was still the dark days of Scottish rugby, where they would try to win penalties within Paterson or Parks kicking range and bash it up with the forwards. The thing that made this last final few minutes so painful was not Wales winning (they were outstanding to snatch it back) but Jonathan Davies, smug, delighted, little squeaks as Wales found their way to a win. Can't wait for Saturday, last chance to beat Gatland's Wales in Cardiff!
Brodie Sandison I disagree that he was smug. He was just very excited but even credits the win to the ill discipline of the Scottish forwards. He has commentated in many Welsh losses where the attacking yen have been outstanding and he never holds back in his admiration for great rugby. I think that your pain made it seem like this which is understandable.
I forgot how great this win / day was 💪❤️. Absolutely wankered on “ skull attack ( S.A Brains ) “ at the ‘ old arcade Cardiff . It’s what makes this sport of ours great ❤️💪🏴🏉🏴🏉🏴🍺🍺🍺
oh I know, no discredit to the Welsh (my nation) it was a thoroughly well fought comeback. You could look at nani's challenge and say he didn't deserve it which to me makes it like the 2011 RWC semi against France. However, I feel that both Scotland yellow cards were justified, hell I thought it should've definitely been a penalty try. My point is that it's the team that takes the brunt of two players indiscretion. It was just painful to watch.
Some say should have been another yellow with the accusation that Helfpenny was tripped at the 6.36 mark. I disagree, to go down this line of thinking is to admit that rugby really should be made a softer game and I will never, ever want this to happen (head injury prevention is another matter altogether though). Concussion is wierd. I fell down the stairs and bonked my head on the front door one day. I remember the drive to work I was swerving from lane to lane on the dual carriageway. One of the company doctors immediatley sent me to hospital when he saw me. Rugby should do all it can to minimise head injuries, but some refs go to far to the detriment of the game whilst others dont go far enough. The inconsistancy is maddening.
regardless and I know what you're saying, but that's no excuse against Japan. There's a strong pool of players in Wales and a country so passionate about rugby playing twice the amount of international games compared to Japan makes me scratch my head.
a lot 'ifs' and may be that's the problem!!! Wales have notched embarrassing losses to Samoa (twice) and more recently Japan...next Wales will lose to a country like Namibia....so funny reading your comment 'it's a fact'....more like 'its a theory' RFLMAO!!!
The worst turn around in rugby history. Scotland deserved that win and because of two ill disciplined players (Godman, the worst man alive) they lost. I was stood there in my red shirt next to my wee Scottish friend apologising, as did the sea of red people around us for the most embarrassing come back in rugby history. Great play by the players, excellent work to turn it around but let's never forget or pretend that this happened due to two men's poor choices. :(
"They've just got to keep their composure now" Jiffys famous words as he completely lost his ! ! !
i was there live when I was 11 years old, will never forget it.
so was I

My first live Six Nations match. Absolutely amazing!

What an amazing kick by Stephen Jones
Good win Wales, Unlucky Scotland.. From an All Blacks fan
Great great great !!!
Just classic, classic Scotland. Never change.
Looks like they have now. ;-)
but now there's been the great comeback v England
@@mizofan That was a pretty bloody epic game! Totally unexpected!
What a game - but even as a Welsh supporter, there's now way the ball wasn't over the touchline at 6:14 on this video :-)
The greatest game of rugby ever played.
Well, greatest last 5 minutes 😂
El mejor deporte del mundo
Jiffy, man of the match.......
I am English, and Wales are in our Rugby World Cup 2015 pool, I am scared.
Oh boy how well placed your fear was
Ellis Lynn lol
James Crampton-Thomas INLEASD WALES GOT THAT TRY ENG V WAL COULD BE SAME IN 2019 RWC ??????
James Crampton-Thomas unlucky
The last kick had to go live, if he had kicked it straight out then wales would have had a penalty... what a game though.
Does anyone know the music at the beginning ?
Scotland should've kept their head. Wales are my second favourite rugby nations. The welsh deserved the win, but gutted as well

Sorry Brodie, I guess it was never meant to be.

Nz play wales once every 2 years, if wales played in the 4 nations then we would beat australia, south africa and new zealand more often, its a fact
Anyone know where I can find the full match??
Nice game
Even to this day I'm still screaming at the ref to stop the clock
literally lost my shit after this haha
Same it was awsome though
Hmmm... was that clock going to keep On ticking until wales win ? No obvious extra time count down ,?
And yet Scotland didn't get this decision this year they were so close. "England Fan"
The winners deserved it, simple.
And 11 years later the French do the same to Wales.....

"they're just passing it to Shane Williams and hoping he does something". (Passes to Shane Williams he scores winning try).
Shane again!
Absolutely. I live in Scotland so I'll be the red shirt in the blue sea. First year in 8 I haven't got a ticket to this match...
Sure, I was there.

I wonder what your thoughts are on japan now.
@@ashjones2627 How about now?
i agree with you not the best way to win by any means but hey ho heres hoping the game on saturday will be corker
Dude, you do realize that the team Wales put out against Japan was mostly made up of the third team players because of the lions matches?
shaney boy u nearly celebrated 2 early for that last try.
unfortunatly butty that rugby look at nanis sending off last week if he wasnt would man utd have won that game its a cruel thing the sports arena
I was there. It was fucking hilarious. The Scots fans were completely shell-shocked.
I think the 👎must be from Scots.
This for me was the start of rugby players acting like footballers diving about trying to con referee's.
LMAO....you Welsh have been saying that since 1953!!!
Fuck off wanker
