- Arguably one of the best Welsh tries against England ever! Certainly one of my favourites, to cap off an excellent turnaround from 3-30 down against Ireland only 6 weeks previous.
We join the action as Gethin Jenkins is replaced by Paul James, handing the armband to Sam Warburton.
Apologies for the quality, 480p was all we got back then!

I’ll never forget this game.
Deployed out to Afghanistan, group of English & welsh fans we managed to stream the match and watched it on a projector and white sheet.
Working alongside US marines and this was their first experience of a six nations match with most never having seen rugby before.
Let’s just say those marines left as welsh fans after the 80 mins 🏴🇺🇸
A masterclass by Wales and a masterclass by Eddie Butler on commentary. Whenever I think of great matches like these, Eddie's voice will always be the one I hear in my head. The soundtrack to Wales post-nineties revival and synonymous with our great Garland years . Diolch o galon Eddie boi.
Wales were immense this day and it was a game of class and attrition. As an English fan, there is nothing better than playing against a resurgent and in-form Welsh team - and this one threw everything and the sink at England, who just couldn't cope. It was a magical performance, full of creativity flair, strength and guile. Best Welsh performance I have ever seen and England were humbled.
We will miss Eddie very much, it won’t be the same without him 💔

Eddie Butler's commentary was sublime, but then it always was. Brian Moore the Jeeves to Eddie's Wooster. What an amazing game that was.
Always good when the Welsh have a good team. It is the heartland of Northern Hemisphere rugby so it's important that the team do well ( I'm a Scot but I started watching rugby back in the Gareth Edwards, Phil Bennett days ).

Justin Tipuric was an absolute legend in this game! This was the best rugby game I have ever seen in my life so far. Wales really need loads more games like this vs England!

I work 10 miles across the border from Wales in England, with all English workers other than myself. I will never forget the atmosphere in work on the day after this legendary Welsh victory. My co-workers, all the English ones, were so surly and sensitive about their defeat that I dared not even mention the game. Something in their eyes warned me it would be unwise to mention rugby at all. We had humiliated England so grieviously, about four days had to pass before the mood lightened a bit and I was at last free to take the piss. Oh, what a delight that was. I'll never forget it. Rugby played poetically, I'd say, and they all knew it.

Possibly one of the unluckiest players in the Welsh squad. Couldn't get a start because he was behind the captain. Now Sam's out, one minor injury and Josh Navidi has stepped in, and to be fair to Navidi, he hasn't really put a foot wrong so far so it would be unfair to drop him to allow Tipuric to start.

Adam Jones started all that and then all the boys piled in taking hits and giving back bigger ones. I will miss watching him tho.
Wales were still the best team of the 70s, and particularly to the summer of 1978 when Edwards, Bennett, Gerald Davies retired. They also played the most entertaining rugby. The All Blacks never played the Welsh grand slam teams of that decade but had a losing record that decade v France and S.Africa, and lost at home to England..
Haden and Oliver both dived, and against a Wales team after the retirement of Edwards, Bennett, Gerald Davies. It was planned since they knew they would struggle to win otherwise.

Better than a Grand Slam win because we denied them too! I'd say the World Cup win was more impressive as it was in their patch but this was a crazy day in Cardiff :)

why is dan biggar not the regular kicker? Halfpenny is pretty good but Dan Biggar rarely misses. I have never seen Biggar having a bad kicking day imo (halfpenny did had a few). Wales are very fortunate to have 2 kickers of this quality especially after that semi final vs France in 2011

Its a pretty bleak stance if you have to rely on an annual rugby game to let out historic frustrations, which occurred when the vast majority of us weren't even fucking born. Its just sad, blinkered, bitterness. If the Welsh performed against other teams like they do against England, they might not be on a 33 game losing streak against NZ, spanning 60 odd years.
