How I use Adobe Illustrator to make Procreate brushes 🤯

  • I’ve got a ‘peek into my process’ style video for you this week! When I made the Calendar Kit, it was the first time I developed a brush set using both Illustrator and Procreate together. It was such an easier process than just using Procreate, especially for a set like this that required precision. Since the process worked so well, I wanted to share it this week in case you’re facing a similar scenario or if you’d like to see how you can use them together in more detail.

    TECH STUFF + ACCESSORIES I USE
    ✨ This artwork was created on a 5th gen iPad Pro (12.9”, 256GB) with a 2nd gen Apple Pencil using the Procreate app
    ✨I recommend any iPad listed here for working in Procreate: every-tuesday.com/ipads as they all allow for pressure sensitivity. I only recommend an Apple Pencil because of its reliability compared to other 3rd party styluses
    ✨ I use the Paperlike screen protector along with their pencil grips: every-tuesday.com/paperlike

    This was fantastic. I love this process video as it helped me with some Adobe Illustrator skills as well as Procreate. One of the things I like is that you are so organized with your thought process which helps to keep things simple (I can and do over complicate a process). Thanks so much! ❤

    Thank you so much. You finally pushed me over the edge of subscribing to the Adobe suite. I learned procreate a few years ago and although my stuff still isn’t great, my physical circumstances changed and I find it too difficult to stand at the heat press for hours making my own products. I’m going to try to sell some of the lettering and designs as digital downloads. I have all the Affinity programs but after watching your videos and a few more I think the auto trace is what I need. Seeing how you made these grids opened even more ideas for me to use the 2 programs together. Another long learning road but will take the first step.

      Congrats on taking the first step! Once you learn where the common tools are, everything just gets easier and easier - promise! Here's my illustrator playlist (lots of beginner friendly tuts in there) if it helps! 👉 ua-cam.com/play/PLOaLExfvXZWLOtkG4hBFpDykUx7YMLQJG.html

    Hi Teela, this is cool, reminds me of the early days when you worked with Adobe illustrator and subscribed for graphic design tips years before I started drawing. This is a full circle moment, liking the horizontal and vertical distribution feature to create manual grids. Thanks for sharing your thought process and techniques, marvellous tutorial bringing Procreate and Adobe Suite together!

    What platform do you recommend to print the calendar?

    • @EveryTuesday
      @EveryTuesday  5 місяців тому +1

      There are quite a few online printer options depending on what you're looking for regarding format/budget. Vistaprint, shutterfly, uprinting, etc. all offer it. If you google online printers for custom calendars, you'll get a lot to pick from 👍
