  • Today we're sculpting Misty from Pokemon. Concept is an old doodle I did a few years ago. No breakdown this time, just a timelapse of all the footage I recorded during the process. Even all the super boring stuff and screw-ups that normally get cut out. If you have any questions, feel free to comment below and I'll help if I can!

      Yeah, for a sculp your poly count won't matter. Your only ceiling is what your pc can handle.

      Rotopology is still important to do, this vid is just doing a sculpt for fun. As much as rotopology is annoying to do, it is crucial in projects like video games and such. If you end up doing a project, it's a good habbit to do it, plus it makes your model able to be used in many instances instead of just being there.

    God, you're so talented. I really wish I was used to blender enough to do this, but I honestly don't have the patience nor desire to invest the amount of time it will take for me to get so good at this. Even my ceramics sculptures are decent, but they're not great. Very well done! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

      You can do it. Most of the time I have invested into learning is trying to find the video that actually explains the thing I'm trying to do atm.

      @@BranSculpts Fair enough. I'm making my first game (by myself) and it's a lot harder than I thought. I do the same thing to learn as I go, so I'm thinking maybe eventually I'll learn to do it in my spare time. Thank you for the encouragement!

      Marnie, Bea, Nessa, Nemona, Dawn, May (ORAS), Penny, Zinnia, N, any of the Champions, really just anybody. Maybe make it a two-for-one and have them with their Ace, like Cynthia and Garchomp.

    you should change your view transform to filmic in the color management settings. It has a higher dynamic range and your colors wont get clipped

      It's an addon called rigify. It comes with blender, you just have to enable it in the preferences.

    I would love for you to go into a bit more detail on the node system you use as well. I just started Blender and I Love your videos. I just dont really see everything you are doing with the Ambient occlusion node system you have.

      Turn on the rigify addon. After you add a meta rig, line up the bones in edit mode and hit "generate rig." Slect your mesh first and the armature second and press ctrl+p and choose "pair with automatic weights. Select the armature and go to pose mode to pose the character!

    The model looks splendid, especially the hair! It catches light just how hair does while also looking stylized... Is it just the use of roughness maps or is there some shader technique you use to make such neat hair?

      Hi! No roughness map used, just colors being controlled by ambient occlusion and pointedness from geometry. So really, it's just colors and lighting. Here's a screenshot of the material nodes: sta.sh/09w4rrqlsjf
