I currently own 9 Ambassadeur reels, most of them vintage made in the 60’s and 70’s. It’s neat to think that maybe some of these people in this video made my reels on these machines. Maybe one of mine was in this film! Who knows!
I didn't understand a word of it but I understood the meaning completely: only a company who cares about their product would put out a film like this. Moreover, you don't see films like this one coming out of goddam China. The products from ABU are truly legacy reels. I have a mint '56 Ambassadeur that sits on a shelf unfished as a piece of industrial art. I'm merely it's custodian and it will outlive me both in form and function. When things I own earn that level of respect it's kind of like that big Brown trout you keep on catching and releasing.
When I was a kid my dream was to own an Abu 333 . Could never afford it . Now, many years later , I have a collection of Vintage Abu tackle but somehow I miss those days when I had to save pocket money for couple of weeks just to buy a Toby ..

Don't ever stop making your highest quality Ambassadeurs and Abumatics in Swiden. The quality does matter! It's great to be competitive, but it is also great to be the Omega or Rolex of the fishing industry... People use to aspire to buy high-end quality fishing tackle.....
Very nice, but how was it established that it was filmed in 1967? It appears that the filming on the contents at least started a couple of years earlier than that.
I own a bunch of reels , including an Ambassadeur 5000. My go to favorite is a Zebco Cardinal 6 c. 1968 given to me brand new a number of years ago. I make sure I take good care of THAT one ! Great video.

@@arnarne Märkligt svar... Jag vill gärna kasta, känna och styra fisken med spöet i höger hand, eftersom jag är högerhänt. Att kasta med höger och sen byta hand känns mer långsökt än att kasta och börja veva. Kastar du således med vänster hand?

These are the only reels I use for fishing from the old Ambassadeurs to the newer Ambassadeur Classic 5600 c series. Best damn reels on earth!
Those were the days. Abu still make some reels in Sweden. Why they don't see the value of making them all in-house in Sweden is a mystery.

I love abu 6500 ct and ct mag elite but mingyang and cast king reels are a quarter of the cost available on Amazon. I love the 6 l bought!

Great insight in a most modern European production back in the day , really enjoyed to watch ,............but English subtitles would have been fine !

I remember those round reels... We used to have two of them... I never managed, them, to cast with them but did use them for trolling.

Varför är typ alla rullar högervevade
+Ivar Westerberg För att Abu är lite tröga när det kommer till produktutveckling.
På den tiden var det helt enkelt högervevat som folk ville ha. Nu finns ju de flesta Ambassadeurer även som vänstervevade.
+Abu Garcia Väntar fortfarande på den Gröna Ambassadeur rullen.
Därför att typ alla människor är högerhänta.
