I really enjoyed this. I listened to Sons of Silence a few weeks back and it's good to hear more from them. I never knew much about the Death Guard in 40k but I was surprised to realise just how "nice" they seem.
Not to blow Grandfather's trumpet... But he is kinda the nice God SheWhoThirsts is basically hellraiser. S/he has such sights to show you...The Architect likes betrayal, hubris and madness... And The Brass King is just angry, so it would be like juggling nukes in a firework factory avoiding his temper All N gives you is a rash. He likes a laugh, jolly etc. As much as his domain is disease and entropy (don't make complicated plans around him. They fall apart and rot), he's also about survival, rebirth, and seeing the silver lining in the cloud of death fumes
How Dragan was recruited, at the last he walks across his proving ground, and has an almost memory of his start ..Gallows man ,loyal but lost, the offer made and taken..
I really love how you had nailed that Death Guard priest voice. Calm, wise, accepting, welcoming. Just by hearing it my guard slips and I start to see the error of my way and want to give up to Nurgle. I just love how relaxed he is. No matter what you try to do. Punch your power sword through his throat. Decapitate him. He will raise up and come to you again and again. Like the inevitability of death, he will be here to comfort you at your last minutes on this world, offering your soul guidance and helping you to depart to your new life.
Thank you most kindly for a Death Guard tale!, my favorite Legion, traitor or loyalist. I've long been a Champion of the Great Grandfather, for IRL, he "blessed me" with the touch of his hand. I like to look at it as being chosen by him... a better way of looking at it then faulty genetics. Holy Hell, just had an awesome idea for fighting Nurgle's children.... convert some Hell-hound flame tanks from throwing fire, to spraying hand sanitizer, like a fire-hose!.
The Nasty-Bois of Nurgle are the last Chaos Marines i'd want to see on the battle field. There is just something about this legion on walking dead just moving forward, no matter what is thrown at them, just moving forward spreading their foul blights and cutting down the defenders in front of them. In the one story where the Tau has their first contact with the Death Guard and even Shadowsun was like "yeah.. I'll see what I can do but no promises." Poor lil' smurfs.
Man I'll never be able to type in a silly comment how much your work means to me. You're amazing ABP, brother thanks for your work. It really does help things.
Always feel like I need to take a shower every time I hear a DG story. Amazing read, the voice work was on point; especially Glask. You made it sound like his lower jaw was about to drop off. Glad Sarrien got his wish!
I just want to say that your recording of this has really helped me fight my alcohol addiction. I try to listen to it every night. Sarrien fought and struggled, and then understood how to endure as Dragan. Ive fought and struggled, but ive learned how to endure. And endure i shall, thats to the grandfather's kindness ( and therapy lol)
Brilliant telling ABP. For some reason Nurgle fills me with despair like nothing else. The is no glory, just the inexorable grind until submission to inevitability . Really puts a point on it for me. Scary stuff.
Just finished up your reading of “Unification”!! Loved it, in that video you mentioned “Lords of Silence” So here I am, listening again to your great narration of this wonderful story!! Thank you!!
HEY ABP, are you going down to Nottingham for the Open Casting call for the new (Brand new) 40k Animated series? They need voice actors. (see the video from Valrak)
@@ABorderPrince WHO THE FUCK CARES. Dude, Your inquisitor's voice has come a long way. Even if you don't get it, it's a way to get your name out there. You can show your demo reel from your last inquisitor lore.
ABorder Prince Warhammer Lore Dude, I’ve spent hours looking for other quality narrations and yours stand out easily as the best. There’s a couple great short ones here and there but my guy yours are allllways top tier
Not sure why Sarian didn’t rest for even an hour, that amount of time would be quite helpful for an exhausted marine! Great story, though, and your narration carries it very well.
Excellent! Having read the Lord’s of silence this was especially cool. My friend plays a Death Guard army and these stories enhance the game for me. Thanks for reading this I really enjoyed the hell out of it.
I'd love to add some music and sfx / Atmos hmu I can only do them in 15 min sections though, can rip them out and compile, been working on several 40k themed audio works, love adding the gore and racket of bolters and viscera ♥️
I used to think that it’d had to be next to impossible for Space Marines to fall to chaos, but in reality, despite decades or centuries of service, it’s far easier then I thought. What a shame.
By the throne! One can hope they don't screw with warhammer when the series comes to be. I wonder how many chapters decend from traitor primarchs. The silver skulls at least are cannon 4th legion decendants.
Hey awesome, a recommendation from ABP counts a lot for me. I just got Lords of Silence on a guess cause I like the Death Guard, but hearing it is a good one is a nice confirmation of the purchase! Gonna start it up now.
Was the guy with the tattoo him? Like just an illusion? I'm having trouble grasping the point of the Gallows Man thing. If only Sarriel could see the illusion, how'd the name catch on with his subordinate later on?
I am liking the story you’re talking about the space marine or above the desk our space Marines in the story they’ll ever meet more talion the leader of the death card or meet the one there God with words in there girl Lord of disease and pestilence this💪💪🤩😎
Sariel the last Marine Standing is fighting Chaos hundreds of years in the past. Now he has become the plague marine and attacks the same planet but he remembers nothing . In the present they are fighting iron warriors and pushing them back then just for a moment he sees the imperial sign on the floor and memory comes bk and he sees himself lying on the floor dying many years ago and then his memory goes. He keeps fighting for nurgle now.
Yes. The parts with Drakkan were set years after the parts with Sarian. He became a plague marine back when he almost died during the original defense of the planet, forgot who he used to be, and accidentally came back there years later to fight the Iron Warriors.
@@ABorderPrince oh ok thanks because ya that kinda confused me a lot and hey can you consider another world eater book like the kharn one you did but maybe a heresy era or earlier those seem interesting like some that i read like betrayal and flight of the Einstein

Funny how a story about plaugues help me cope with the anxiety of a health problem i'm currently dealing with. I'll happily take it.

@@bradym13it’s heavily implied he became Dragan, who is a main character in one of Chris Wraights books, The Lords of Silence

Great work Brother Prince!!! I'm always looking for something to listen to while (painting) preparing armies for the Emperor!!
Btw, Dragan is common Serbian/Slavic name (like Liam in England) and it literally means "dear one".
Dragan these nuts on your chin

Nothing like Nurgling stories while your sick.
Lords of silence ? This is a favorite of mine.

So who is the tattooed big guy? The first time I listened to this I thought it was in the same time frame since he said the gallows man was coming?
would've prefered if the re was some way to diffrentiate chapters. it was pretty jarring going from the captain to all the sudden an infected ship
