I have the exact same ATV an tracks and have to say that it is the best thing to have for our Canadian Winter. I will never get a snow machine again. The tracks are worth every penny. Love Them!👍👍
Glad you’re enjoying yours. For me, I’d get a set if I got a good deal but I’d never replace my sleds with them. Sled is wayyyy more fun in the snow. Thanks for watching!
Great video Dave, you’ve got a real knack for this type of video. Love the fast pace and no BS. Contemplating tracks for my Griz. They’d be handy around the farm for chores and running the dogs but I’m not sold for all the reasons you highlighted. Thanks to you I’m still on the fence, leaning a bit more to the wheel side. I love my mud tires.
In Idaho they are good in spring time when snow drifts prevent atv's from getting through the drift and the distance between drifts is too far apart to allow a snowmobile. They are also great in really muddy road conditions as they wont tear the road up like a vehicle does. I dont find them any fun to use but great to have when you need to access some place that is difficult. Great video Dave and good subject to talk about. They have come out with a set of tracks with huge lugs and a bigger foot print that is made for deep power snow.
Another awsome pro is you can pull almost anything with them I work at used snowmobile parts deler and use the atv with tracks to move not running machines and the pulling power with the tracks over tires is amazing
Good review. I just bought a Can Am outlander Xxc 1000 and will be buying the Camso tracks for it. As you stated, and it is true with me, I dont really need them but they look great and the cool factor is definitely there. Take care.👍
Good morning David. Very timely video. My friend is on his way to get tracks as we speak. Can't wait to see how he is able to tackle the terrain out in the bush. Cheers and all the best for 2020!
Great Video David. I've also had experience with a track system on our shops Grizzly 700. My biggest issue was the lack of steering. Yes, it went through nearly everything, but the steering was just horrible.
When they get stuck they are mega stuck. Like your not getting it out without a winch or a tow. Don't expect them to be able to go the same places as a sled cause they cannot. Good video 👍
Hey David, could you possibly do a video about cleaning the RAVE valves on a Ski-Doo engine? Pretty sure I need this done to mine and I'm not sure how to tackle this task. Thanks!
Do the new power steering systems eliminate the extra force needed for steering, also will the extra steering force put undue wear on one of the new power steering systems causing premature failure
Not eliminate, but they no doubt help. It’s still much harder to steer. I would have to say there would be increased wear and tear. They are definitely something to buy if you need them.
Are there any particular models, brands or size motors of any ATVs to look for if wanting to put tracks on an atv for the winter? I am buying an atv for hunting but want to know if I should look into certain ones since I wanna use tracks?
Not much i didnt say in the video. You want plenty of power. Power steering isnt a bad idea when turning tracks. I’d always avoid the non-name Chinese models.
Hi. I’m looking for some help. I’ve got a ‘97 Formula Z 670. Same old problem the 3 years I’ve had it Runs great while it’s warm. If it’s cold it floods easily. Fires on first pull but won’t stay running. I pull the plugs , pull it to clear cylinders , clean the plugs, try again. The plugs might be fouling. Any suggestions? Love your videos. Thanks
Hi Tim. Well, all I can say is the only track systems I’ve used have been manufactured by Camso and I’ve found them to be of excellent quality. Of course how long anything lasts depends on how its used, maintained and the environment in which it functions. But I don’t see any particular deficiency in the manufacture of their product.
Hi Justin. Wondering why they would be any different on that machine. Any specific concerns? I imagine the improved traction would be good for hauling wood
Hey Dan. You’re right I didn’t. I never think that much about fuel on my sleds or atvs as I don’t use as much as in my truck, and on the farm we need what we need. It will depend on the ATV, and The type of track and where and how you use it, but they will decrease fuel efficiency as they are heavier and harder to turn than wheels. Thanks for watching.
I just cannot believe that anybody would think tracks on a ATV or UTV are a good idea. These machines were designed and engineered for use with wheels and tires. The traction offered by tracks is vastly greater than anything the meanest of tires could approach. While that may be seem like the real ticket for going through deep snow or mud, it is certainly not great for the driveline of the machine. It should be abundantly obvious to anyone that installing this sort of a setup on a machine that wasn't designed for it from the get go is going to cause you a lot of grief in the long run. Things like drive shafts and clutches are not going to like you for doing this to your ATV . Oh sure, you'll be fine for awhile but you will definitely be throwing lots and lots of hundred dollar bills out for repairs to your machine before too long

:) Thanks for watching. Let me know how it turns out
I only have sleds but even when you talk about atvs I learn so much lol. Nice vids.
Hey, thanks so much
Thanks Dave for the quick response! Great content and very informative. Excellent!
Glad you liked it. Did i get your last name right?

Thanks for the comment Steve. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video, but the outtakes are BRILLIANT!
Thanks Paul. Glad you enjoyed.
Hi Dave, Can you make a video teaching people how to do a snow dance ?? Bought a new sled and it doesn't snow . Hmmm ?
I feel your pain.
Another awsome pro is you can pull almost anything with them I work at used snowmobile parts deler and use the atv with tracks to move not running machines and the pulling power with the tracks over tires is amazing
Good point. I havent done any towing with the tracks on but the increased traction would be a plus. Thanks for sharing
Not a fan of wheelers, but always watch your vids. So well done....... Thanks Dave
Back to sleds next video. Thanks for watching.
@@MyOldSled Definitely keep doing both! And yes we need more snow. Switched to the REV chassis for this year, can't wait.
Congrats on the new machine!

Congratulations Squeaky. Great machine I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
Enjoyed the video. I have checked the Camso pricing for my Canam Commander 570. & new in the US they are $3,999. Half the price of the machine new.
I know, expensive. Than’s for watching.

Hey Gp (whats your name btw) disappointed you didnt comment on the tractor ;)
Good morning David. It's Gord. LOL. It made me smile when I saw it but forgot to throw it in the comment. Enjoyed the video and the scenery. Cheers!
Happy New year from NH
Another great video Dave
Love the bloopers 👍
Sorry for the delay! Happy New Year Robert.
where do you ride in NH? i ride in coos county.

Oh for sure. You can’t carve deep powder in a tank
Well done video and explanation. Thanks for the taking the time to cover this.
You’re welcome IV
Hey I live around the corner... I’m just randomly watching videos on atv tracks haha
Hi Kadin. Small world.
Excellent video. I am looking into purchasing a side by side next year and this was one of my questions. Great information. Thanks Dave
Hi Mark, Thanks Glad you enjoyed it
Very good video. I was wondering if you could share any information on the windshield. I like the looks of it.
Those bloopers were awesome 😎 😂👌
Hi Daniel. Glad you liked them. Thanks for watching.

will definitely get to that one. Working on something else at the moment. Thanks for the suggestion.
My Old Sled - Thank you very much!

In 2019 Suzuki did a redesign . The steering effort has increased to turn these units , I could not imagine how hard it is with tracks .
Tracks will indeed take you to a lot more places that would be quite difficult on tires... but beware... they can get you into much bigger messes too.
True. Like when I got my first 4 wheel drive. When you think you can go anywhere, you quickly find out you can’t
@@MyOldSled LOL..I think just about everyone that has had 4x4's has their own "I thought I could get through it" story... I know I sure do.
What about using tracks in the back and leaving the wheels in the front to help with steering? Or skiis in the front?
I imagine it would handle really bad with that much traction in the back and not in the front.
How would you compare the fun factor in the snow vs a snowmobile?
Snowmobile is far more fun.
I was really looking for a video like this and this is high quality.
But I'm wondering why you have disabled/hidden the likes/dislikes?

A very unique machine indeed !!
Yeah its pretty cool.

Have you cleaned the carbs?
Can you have wheels in the front and tracks in the back
My guess would be the traction in the back would overpower the wheels and you wouldn’t be able to corner.
great video! thanks for the info
Hi Marty. Thanks for watching. Glad you liked it.
Does any company make a set of tracks that actually lasts and aren't always broke?
Hi Tim. Well, all I can say is the only track systems I’ve used have been manufactured by Camso and I’ve found them to be of excellent quality. Can the tracks travel in deeper snow than tires✌️🇨🇦
Oh for sure
Question, when having tracks on do you need to be in 4 wheel drive or can you stay in 2 wheel until 4wd is needed?
I am not positive, but i would say 4 wheel drive. Steering in 2wd is worse, and Camsos site references tracks for 4x4s.
My Old Sled Ive always been curious about that if you’d have to run it in 4wd the whole time or not. Thanks for the reply!
Awesome job!!
On the video, or helping on the farm?
A nice video
Thanks for watching. All be best for the holidays.
Power steering is nice with tracks.
It helps for sure.
Thank goodness I thought you quit yt
Nope. Just real life rudely interrupting :)
👍
Sherp vs track....
How would they do on a Honda Rincon 680 4x4 I do fire wood
Hi Justin. Wondering why they would be any different on that machine. Any specific concerns? I imagine the improved traction would be good for hauling wood
💯👍
Thanks for watching!
I watch the whole video and you said nothing about the difference on how hard they would be on fuel
I've ran tracks on my atv for a long time. I use about twice as much fuel to go half the speed with my tracks.
Thats a lot worse than my experience but they are bad. Tracks are definitely something you only use because you need the traction.
@@MyOldSled I bought mine for deep snow floatation. They make the gearing much lower so you are basically running flat out all the time
