great video! I have tracks but only used them in snow. I bet the weight is a big problem. Even in snow, the tread depth could be bigger, but I guess thats why they have the backcountry tracks now.
That is asking a LOT of any vehicle, making it through that is honestly a pretty amazing feat. The only way through it from there is just insane power to stay on top of it and blast through.
Tracks are not worth it for mud for many reasons. They are primarily designed for snow (surface area) A well modded atv with proper tires clearly shows this in this video. Yes they can be used for 4 seasons but it's all about traction. In mud tracks will just add another 300lbs + you will have you sinking. Nice video, thanks for sharing!
A friendly piece of advice. For that kind of mudding you need tracks with deeper grooves. You see how as you ride forwards the mudder itself starts to ... dam up in front of your track. So rather then a negative space to create forward suction and the removal of the dam mud is the best way to increase its use of fun. Fewer broken backs less would be kind of nice too.
The older I get the less that looks like fun! All those dollars in beautiful equipment just sinking into a swamp, but you only go around once so spend it your way and have fun while you’re young!
No lol, never. These tracks just not have deep lugs, they are for snow only.I am farmer i know how much better is tractor in mud with tracks compared to wheels.
Tracks work on a dozer or an excavator because on the weight. In this instance the track just acts as a conveyor taking mud from the back of the track to the front of the track, very counter-productive indeed.
@@getchasome6230 exactly an excavator just sinks right to the bottom and moves slowly as well with the ability to push or pull itself also its pretty damn hard to get one stuck lol
i think if instead of a triangle track. where the front tip is level with the mud maybe add a 4th point so make a parallelogram. Wouldn't it help push the front end up helping keep on top more?
I been in deep mud before but this here is Big Boy Mud! I hope there was an easier way back to the trailer. If I was there and saw the trouble them boys were having.. I think I'd have tried to get up a nice head of steam and nailed that pit. Course.. it would have probably sent me over the bars. It would have been great footage though. :-)~
Sick vid for the guys like me who care too much about there machines to drive them this hard. Awesome entertainment. I’m going to end up stuck in a ditch somewhere trying to do this lol
In certain cases, for example where you can possibly stay higher in the mud or snow. I think this mud was just so wet that no matter what you were sinking right in. As Drongo Jonkins said, bigger lugs would probably have made it much better
Everyone saying to use Helmet Cameras. If you've ever gone mudding you would know you're basically cleaning the camera every 20 seconds. It wouldn't be much of a video when your first dive in is covering the camera.
Doesn’t having for tracks set up basically like wheels defeat at least half the purpose of having tracks in the first place? I understand it’s kind of getting a little of the best of both but the large tread off road tires seem to work very well anyway. Now two full length tracks like an actual tank would go through just about anything I think, you would lose some speed and turning maneuverability but in a case like this and probably most cases you wouldn’t really need to turn much to try and get through, you just go straight over and through. I think it it really came down to it, like some kind of apocalypse, the best all around solution would be tracks like a tank.
He needs to bolt some bigger rubber lugs/paddles to those tracks, they don't have enough traction to push the mud and keep momentum, only thing he has going is flotation!
Pretty well usually, most often the vents and intake are just below the gas cap/handle bars, but some could have raised intakes, in this type of mud radiators are the biggest problem, and I see a few of the wheelers in the vid have them raised and out of the mud
You should have a goal where when you hit it you invite 2-3 people out to see you and you all go mudding together. Btw great videos, I'm hopefully going to buy a can am outlander and jack it up, snorkels, winches, tires everything hopefully
I was expecting the tracks to sing through that mud without getting stuck
The trackes he had on arent ment to mud they are ment for snow if they had more of a paddle trade it would go through alot easier
me too
The tracks on that ATV were a bit skinny. They are holding up too much weight per square inch
Nah tracks suck in anything but snow and sand
Me too. Probably weight plays a factor. I run tracks on my Jeep and works flawlessly in the snow.

That guy at 3:40 wiggling around absolutely cracked me up!!! I'm a 25 year vet on atv/atcs and never seen anything like that 😂😂😂😂😂
You never wiggled the bike to get traction in a boog then your machines don't see this kind of abuse
Sturgill 85 agreed
I like that for each one coming im like « is this the one with the tracks ? »
Lmao same
Lol
Excellent video thanks. Need an outboard boat motor and some beer to get through that mud hole.
I just laugh at you guys, you spend more time trying to get stuck than anyone I know, it's great shit 😂
That looks like incredible fun. Good for you guys.
You should get tracks with taller paddles on them.
He should get tracks with paddles on them
@@willfarver8841 i bet your parents are disappointed in you
Wow I would have thought the tracks were better. That video just saved me 3 grand

This guy just didn't know what he was doing is all, I think this is actually the first video where someone got stuck using tracks
I didn’t think the one with tracks was going to have any problem. And here I am looking at one with tracks. I may be rethinking things.
When the first tracked one started tat was satisfiyng

The guy clearly needs a workout.. and a wake up!! Its like hes driving a jeep with road tires. Bunch of money and no brains.
I can't believe that track machine didn't float right through that!
The older I get the less that looks like fun! All those dollars in beautiful equipment just sinking into a swamp, but you only go around once so spend it your way and have fun while you’re young!
Great way of looking at things. Thanks for watching dude
i see that grizzly keeping up with them can ams
That's one hell of a lawn job.
Tracks are a lot better in snow !!!
And
Wheels are a lot better in mud !!!
Sup
Driving skill is a major factor
No lol, never. These tracks just not have deep lugs, they are for snow only.I am farmer i know how much better is tractor in mud with tracks compared to wheels.
Tracks are better in mud.. it's the shallow clearance that gets him hung up
You guys are the true mud masters.
wow, how much time do you guys spend washing these vehicles? :D
@Racist lives Don’t matter 😂😂 dang you really did that
Simply amazing how much mud these can get threw. My raptor can't make it past a puddle!!!!
If those tracks had tractor thread they would have a much better self cleaning effect, this thread drags dirt from the back into the front.
That Track Four Wheeler Was the Bomb Man 🛩😎🛩
as always hardcore and epic.Keep it up boys
Tracks or tires aside, still just good ole fashioned fun.
Agreed!!
tracks need big paddles on it
Backcountry tracks have big paddles on it

Nice adit job at 7:08, we just saw you get stuck like all the rest are earlier in the video!
tracks are good but I think they don't have enough grip or at least this one
he needed the paddle tracks
Definitely love going back an watching all these vids again is king 🤘
Whom ever filmed, good job.
Nice real world comparison between machines.
Thank you

Better in snow. Need deeper lugs in the mud. Then she will she will pull. (Tracks)
Fajne klady
The tracks done look like much fun
I thought tracks would do better than that.
plus you cheated and did go straight through the water holes
when he learns to ride those tracks he is gonna dominate that club
i think if instead of a triangle track. where the front tip is level with the mud maybe add a 4th point so make a parallelogram. Wouldn't it help push the front end up helping keep on top more?
Thats what i was thinking too. And bigger lugs.
yep. Idk maybe they have tried that before and it was worse idkk
looks like a lot of fun. Ol blackjack mud like we have in south Louisiana
Should use helmet mounted go pro and do long vids like the not just the mud hole but like 30min videos of the hole trail would love that
Would be awesome if you replied and gave opinion on this
He uses the helmet mount, and most of the video is the group getting to the spot so he edits it out
I would imagine the GoPro on a helm would be pretty hard to keep mud off of for what these guys are doing the way they are filming sister perfect imo
+Grim Riding definitely most of his videos are him licking the camera clean or finding some other effective way.
brenton troendly yeeeeeee
With this last change is just ahead on the rear tires to remain caterpillars
My atc 110 when i was a kid would float on top.
Lmao... i had a 110m and a 200m, and a 250sx. Love those things.
Those tracks need bigger paddles, great surface area but not enough "lug" to really bite and dig in hard.
I'd love to see more helmet cam footage
Beside the slipping problem those tracks could use a directional lug pattern that throws mud to each side rather than back in front of the track
I need to get my fourtrax out there lol
Yes that looks indeed like great fun ...
Nice video Osta. ☝🏽️
។
awesome hole, awesome bikes, awesome video!
It would be the best if you uploaded helmet cam videos that were like your entire trip.
I agree
I also agree
I thrice that motion.
+Daniel Adams (dandan2813) True and whats up with the tracks. They could be angled better and if you get stuck in the water now your atv wont float.
+Daniel Adams (dandan2813) w8 the tracks are angled fine its just that it wont float
That is one dirty hole!
Those tracks were quite pointless. #wastedflow
Moral of the story, you get to play in the mud and have fun
got to get me a Can Am soon...
Wow what a mud hole those little things are mean they're all good the tracks made it out on its own power no cable just a little push

Why not try a Ski-doo ? :-)

Double the wheels = double the fun
Great video. Great quality.
if that had 3'' lugs it would go through anything
elwood bigman and a proper drive wheel that's cogged would be unstoppable
The three inch lugs couldn't last on any hard surface.
that scrambler is sick
Thanks youtube for the 5 year old vids
some nos and you would flew through there osta !haha nice
so how long do your quads last like this? about one every season?
That looks like so much fuñ! Can't wait til spring time hahas

they are but the paddles on them werent very big
It depends. Typically they're better for snow. Those tracks didn't have very deep treads though. That would have helped
nice video again osta. been gettin alot of friends startin to tune in on your channel too

Ground clearance wins have to keep that skid plate above the suction
like always , , , great coverage !
it all depends on what you’re driving through. Can you drive on top?tracks. Can you sink down to hard ground? Tires.
tires ftw

Tracks - smokes nervosly!
they give up to quick, slow down for a second n omg ur stuck wtf? ur still movin?...

Lol spend 15k on a machine and he walks it out of the mud with a winch. Lololololol
Mark Tomaszewsky I wish they only cost 15k
Seems like you would want a big roller on the front of the tracks, instead of at the middle.
