    Had tracks for a couple of winters but sold them as I couldn’t stand the stiff steering, slower speeds and terrible fuel mileage. I was mostly using them to pull a groomer around my property for trails in the winter. Got a ski-doo 600ace which is awesome for pulling and ditched the tracks (also have a Renegade 600etec, but it is not clutched for pulling at all).
    If I was hauling ice huts all day I’d still have the tracks, but for what I do a sled is a much better option.
    I did also try to run the tracks in the summer but found them to be much less tough than tires, couldn’t climb over logs (back track got stuck due to the angle of attack) and peeled a track off going over some off camber stuff.

    This is probably going right over a few heads, but it's the most masterfully articulated explanation of tracks I've ever heard... But seriousness aside, why would I want tracks on my Hyabusa if I can't go 200mph on the freeway???? 🤣🤣🤣

    I have camso on my Honda rincon. It’s a monster, go anywhere you point it with the tracks. way more capable then any side by side with tracks.

    I run t4s tracks on my 700 grizz, absolutely not issues with suspension or driveline. The thing is a tank.. Having said that maintenance is very high. At less than 1500 miles (6yrs ) all the bogeys and idlers are being replaced at a cost of $2300 CAD. Very poor seals on the wheel allow sand,water,ice,grit to get pass, taking out the bearings.

    I run a set of Apache 360LTs on my defender limited and absolutely love them. I think its the perfect combo: Heated cab + wiper overcomes the flying snow and power steering makes them hardly noticable.
    I have the mounts and module for my renegade 1K but didnt like the way it handles compared to the defender.

      I've ridden a track kit on a sxs in winter. Full cab enclosure is the way to go for sure.

    They’re great when you need them. Disadvantages I noticed: Very hard ride without tires’ air cushion. Especially the rear track will not go over small obstacles like a 3”+ log or rock; the tracks just collide with possible damage to the wheels.

    i ran Camso T4s tracks on my 850 outlander and absolutely loved them, only reason i sold them is i fell on hard times and needed the cash bad or else id still have them

    I've seen a few guys try to run tracks all summer, it didnt end well for any of them.
    The tracks are pretty light duty, if you get in a deep rut on a side hill they pop off or break the boggie wheels. They also wear down very fast on the road then wont bite next winter in the snow when you need them lol.
    Tracks were popular at mud runs for a bit as you can skim acrossed the mud with a powerful atv but they break so much when used in mud people stopped using them.

    I whould like to use guys put a track clutch kit. They make running tracks even better and allow even little 450 going around in high off road

    I just send it with some superatv assassinators , they do pretty good in the snow and for plowing my xt400 smooth but being a wider tire they do better at low speed unlike the nators .

    Nice review and likes, probably be more dislikes here as everyone wants speed vs getting back to that lake for some fishing. Total side questions What are your thoughts on bearing greasers they are selling for the sealed bearings for ATV's? they look simple but also look like they do the job. Any thoughts?

    • @DirtObseXXion
      @DirtObseXXion Рік тому +4

      Not to steal DT's thunder, but I use them and they work well to prolong bearing life... But resist the urge to squeeze until grease comes out.. At that point you've ruined your seal and done more harm than good... A few pumps just until you feel a very slight resistance is good 👍

    The track kits are a little under-built. Anything we add to our quads or SxS's should be a bit OVER-BUILT. We don't want stuff breaking. Use aluminum instead of plastic.

    I paid a good price for my tracks and then found out 3 miles from the truck that they don't like to be sideloaded. They did well for me until that point. There's the like and dislike. Luckily I have tools in my truck but unfortunately I had to walk to my truck.

    • @dirttraxtv

      Yeah, I definitely wouldn't consider them a tire replacement. Anyone looking to buy a set really should try a set out before laying down their cash 👍⭐️💥

    Dont buy tracks if youre looking for speed or high performance.
    I use mine for plowing the yard and pulling firewood out of the bush. They are an absolute necessity and tires couldn't even begin to compare.
    Love the track systems on my atv

    Why would you want to use tracks if you can only use your low range you're talkin driving at 10 to 15 Mi an hour

    • @daveratzloff7062
      @daveratzloff7062 Рік тому

      You don't need low range for riding or pulling portables I've been running them on a seven hundred single for 8yrs and only use low range if i'm pulling one of the hard sided fish houses

      agree..I very rarely run in low. Only time I do is pulling logs out of the bush , or hauling heavy (1000lb ) trailers up steep embankments at deer camp. The rest of the time it’s in high range. Noissues with the adv suspension or driveline.
