It's always those Asian recipes that seem so easy and appetizing that you also crave for, and once you get your hands on a recipe, there HAS to be this ONE crazy exotic ingredient that you can't find anywhere, like some powder from a Nepalese boar's tusk
I like your traditional coconut grater coz that's what my grandpa used when i was a small girl back in my home country the Philippines :) Many people still use it back home.
3:00 So that's what that is! There is one that has been laying around my house since forever and I have never known what it was, I guess my mom used it.
James Chumsa-Jones It is a coconut grater. Thai people use it to make shredded coconut. It is rarely use now because coconut milk is easily found in most Asian stores.
Hi Rin, love the red lime paste trick however my flour doesn't stick to the potato/banana when I fried them. The flour coating starts to swim loose when it's fried:( I'm determine to figure out why. Any ideas of what I've wrong? I followed your recipe to the T.
Sawadee kup! Thank you for sharing this recipe. This recipe is similar to our dish in the Philippines called "Maruya" fried Banana Fritters. But this one looks better and delicious. I remember visited Bangkok last 2012 and I tried this in street vendor. But surprisingly it is so delicious! AH ROI!!!! Khob khun kup ^_^
Rins. Can you please tell me exact measurements of lime paste and water in order to make 1 cup lime paste water? I have never used lime paste before and I want to get it right the first time. Please reply back. Thank you.
+Lotus Koi I just read this from on how to make the mix. 2 tea spoon powder to 5 cups of water. mix well until lime crystal sink to bottom. use the clear liquid on top. Hope this helps

What nonsense. I go to Thailand often for the last 30 years. Just need banana fried in flour. You don’t need any sugar or anything like that because the banana is so tasty especially when it’s fried in batter.

You speak perfect english and it's great you have not forgotten your native language. Your fried banana recipe looks delicious!

hi Rin, can i use white lime paste instead of red lime paste?
John Abrams For the food grade you can substitute red lime paste with the white one. It is actually the same type of lime.
Is there a substitute for red lime paste.?
thanks
Red lime paste water. Do you mean red lime stone water?
Hi, how long can I keep red lime water for?
Rins. Can you please tell me exact measurements of lime paste and water in order to make 1 cup lime paste water? I have never used lime paste before and I want to get it right the first time. Please reply back. Thank you.

What powder u use????
AQUAMY VONZ Hi Awuamy. Do you mean lime paste and not lime powder?
Instead of using the red lime water can i use a regular water?
No, you can't because like she mentioned in the video, the red lime helps the batter to be crunchy and crispy.
You can use lye water instead. Lye water, also called lime water, is available in most of asian stores. Hope this helps.
Thank you P'
What is the color of the rice flour do u use...green or red...?
Rice flour is red. Glutinous flour is green. If u look at the bags, it'll tell you the name too
I have eaten some fried banana that has a thick sticky texture, almost like mochi. Would u know what it's made of?
Sis, I'm pretty sure it's glutinous rice flour. I use that in my fried bananas.
น่ากินมากคะ แต่ปูนใสนี่หายากจัง
