    That document looks super helpful! Thanks for the great advice. I've gone the Mechanical Engineering route like you mentioned and joined all the good project clubs I could. Unfortunately, a lot of the career fairs you mentioned are canceled or only online this past year, but hopefully they'll open back up soon. Thanks for the advice on study groups. I have a few, but schedules are a pain to work out. I'll definitely try to find more. Thanks!

    Very informative video! I’m a high school senior looking to major in aerospace engineering and I believe the community college tip is very solid. I participated in this dual enrollment program where I can attend high school and college at the same time and it’s completely free. I’ve just applied to some universities and if I get accepted I’ll go to the 4 year university first but if I get rejected I can just finish up the prerequisite classes at my community college. Although the difficulty is about to ramp up in the next few years, I believe watching these videos will help me keep hope and push through :)

I'm a highschool student looking into going into aerospace engineering I have taken a lot of math and physics courses so that pre-req is already out of the way but I wanted to ask if there is any extra tips you could recommend to prepare for the pursuit of an aerospace engineering degree in college. Also what is the workload like in college if you also have to work to support yourself?

    • @AviationAustin
      @AviationAustin  Рік тому

      Get familiar with calculus courses. And if you're planning on working while in school just know you will not have any other time to do anything outside of school and work. Aerospace engineering is incredibly demanding. I recommend if you can afford to do so try to avoid working full time while in school. Of course i always recommend as a rule of thumb never take on more debt than you will make in the first year after graduation which I would say is around $72k.

      Honestly I don't think minors will do much of anything for you. If you do ME and Aerospace clubs that will be the basic equivalent of an AE degree in my opinion. Unless you want to do aerodynamics or propulsions systems. Then you may want to make sure you take some of those as electives.

    • @AviationAustin
      @AviationAustin  3 роки тому +1

      Charge on! Yeah i never found an Aerospace internship myself. I'd keep looking, but I would also say branch out and look for any engineering internship, mechanical, systems, industrial, anything will help. Most internships don't like to hire seniors though. So most importantly make sure you are doing AIAA or some sort of club actively. If you can't find an internship I'd highly recommend a leadership position in AIAA. If you're graduating in spring when fall hits start applying for jobs. If you're graduating in Fall start right now. On boarding is a very tedious process in the defense industry and they hire very early. Good luck! And if you need more resources check out my Patreon for my downloadable guide to finding jobs.

    How would you recommend organizing study groups effectively? Or do u think it should be done so everyone is completely quiet and focused on their separate work and if someone needs help they can ask the group.
