    I love this guy's approach of "I don't care what you do, but prove it to yourself if you're going to do it that way" and "if it's not working, then get rid of it and do something else." It's simple brilliance.

      All the 'tactics' we are taught, came from use of weapons over the centuries. Watching the 'pros' is always good, but there's no replacing actual using your gun.

      There is no “right way” or “wrong way” to do anything. There are only different techniques to accomplish the task. What works for me may not be the most effective way for you.

      @@michaelpeterson1169 I don’t know if I would go that far. Perhaps there’s no ONE right way to do something, but there are many wrong ways. I am with you on choosing a way that works or accomplishes the task.

      Some things do require a little factual care though. Like foot placement. The Ronin instructor is very clear in explaining effective Foot placement. A line in the dirt, 1 foot in front of it one foot behind it.

      @Fun Crusher That or they spent some time in the military (especially the Marines). You guys really are desperate to look for a reason to talk shit huh? It's kinda pathetic that instead of moving on with your day you feel the need to criticize a man who is just trying to show people a better way to control their rifle. It's not new information by any means, but there are still some goofballs out their shooting the AR like they are in Vietnam.
      If a simple word bothers you so much then it suggest your mental constitution is quite weak.

  • @clamum
    @clamum 4 роки тому +23

    Pretty good stuff thanks James.
    I think there's a downside to holding way out on the end of the barrel in that C-clamp thing. The father out you hold the rifle, yes you can swing it faster, but it's harder to hold up steady.
    I prefer John Lovell's suggestion to hold it more of in a mid point between mag well and end of barrel. For me rifles are a lot harder to hold steady than swing side to side.
    Lot of people just sit at the bench too at the range, and don't get much practice shooting off handed. I've been trying to work on this more myself.

    If I took the class, every time he says "we trackin?" My dumb army ass would be saying hooah every time until he tells me to stop because we ain't in uniform right now 😂
    Great tips tho, definitely gonna drill on this

    I smell what he’s steppin’ in! I’ll work the general concept into some trading sessions. The change in speed along with tossing sh*t that don’t work while trying new holds, grips, AND sling tension. This, in my opinion is actually a new way of pushing yourself to get better & better.

    Interesting how some instructors advocate putting the stock in the shoulder pocket, while others advocate bringing the dot to your eye and having the bottom of the stock making minimal contact on the shoulder .. I've learned that in a tactical situation the latter method would be more benficial for a CQB situation

    • @thickseed
      @thickseed 4 роки тому

      I've noticed that if I aim (no pun intended) to raise the rifle to my eye line (as opposed to hunching down to look through the sight), the top of the butt of the rifle sits slightly above my shoulder. Many instructors say have the butt positioned securely and completely in the shoulder pocket, but this invariably requires me to hunch. What gives!? 🤬🤷🏽‍♂️
