Just wanted to share. My S10 plus display was cracked. I sent it to official Samsung service center. They didnt separated the display from the steel frame(housing) like 2:15 they replaced the whole body of phone including the steel housing and all the accessories attached to it except the camara, battery and motherboard etc. Even the vibration motor and copper cooling plate is replaced .as the whole housing contains. Because as the display is permanently attached and the phone is IP68 water resistant. And removing it from frame and reattaching can cause the water leak inside. Thumbs up Samsung for service . Though they charged nearly 200 dollers. 🙊

This is my first time repairing this phone. On my phone just the screen and digitizer is damaged, Should I buy the part with the frame included or just screen with digitizer?
Basically impossible as the OLED screen is glued quite permanently to it with some very strong glue that is basically insoluble in any adhesive remover. Add that to the extremely fragile OLED screen that when looked at wrong can break without the protective glass on it. You need some very very very expensive equipment and unless you want to start a business doing this is just plain stupid. On say an Apple watch cutting the adhesive is possible but on a phone is not feasible.
This video omits a big part of replacing a screen. They don't mention that the "display" really has three layers. 1. Screen protector 2. Glass cover 3. Display. You should first pull off the screen protector, then carefully separate the thin glass cover from the display. I think you will find that most of the time the cracks you're seeing are the glass cover that's cracked and not the expensive display! Check this BEFORE you pay for a display.
After replacing my screen&frame, my speaker no longer works. I tried a new speaker as well thinking it may be the culprit, but it still does not work. Audio only comes out of the earpiece when playing music or on speakerphone. Headphone jack works fine.

It's usually like 15-30 dollars more expensive. But in my opinion it's a lot better to do it with a housing because it's harder to break the screen during the repair then. And looks better
Paying for the insurance sure comes out a lot cheaper and so much less hassle! It blows my mind people by a phone for over $1,000 ( that has a screen all the way to the edge) and don't get insurance! Fin crazy!
Well, you also have to take into account that the phone which costs $1000 when you buy it on a plan for 12 or 24 months will become obsolete literally after 6-8 months of purchase and definitely obsolete after 12 months as both Samsung and Apple release new models every 12 months. Paying extra $20-30 a month for insurance sometimes is not at all viable as the phone becomes obsolete very quickly and chances are that you will be upgrading in the next 12 months anyway. If you are reckless or stupid enough to drop the phone and not have a case and screen protector for it means you are an idiot and should not have a $1000 phone but a $200-300 one.
