Way back in the early 70's I was at the laundrymat (new bride) and this lovely lady showed me how to fold fitted sheets. So nice of her. Same way as you do it. Now I have these crazy sheets for a thicker king size mattress and the fitted sheet has elastic all the way around the whole thing and it is a pain to fold. Doesn't look so nice when I'm done but no one but me is looking in my linen closet. LOL As always Melissa I enjoyed your tips. Hugs to you xoxox

I used to make Swans at a restaurant that I worked at. We put the left over food in the swan and presented it to our guests. Of course they were made of tin foil and lot easier to manage. I fold a lot of my items the same way that you do but I have never seen the one with sweater on the hanger. That is one that I need to try. Thanks for your videos. I really enjoy them.

Amen! I love your videos and slowly but surely helping get our lives together as a new married couple living with inlaws and being constantly cramped for space and my mother in law who does charity work and uses our house as a constant drop off center for the community and also being a major hoarder, collector, and all out slob...and i say that with all the love in the whole world (she says it too). Your videos are defintely constantly shared to drop hints lol ;)
I am a young muslim Hijabi, which means I happily wear the religious headcovering and have TONNNNSSSS of scarves made of various materials, colors, patterns etc. and their accessories like special safety lins, straight pins, broches, bonnet caps that i wear underneath, fancy laces to layer and dress up, etc.
I have more drawer options and space than hanging space and initially was planning on do the shirt stacking tip you mentioned but with pieces of rectangle cardboard and rubberband to "file" my hijabs or large headscarves, utilize space, and minimize wrinkling.
Basically I'm asking for realistic tips on storing numerous scarves in drawers (I'm talkin like 60+) rather than using those scarve hanger things and wanted to know your opinion about the cardboard idea and if its realistic for putting away again.
or if you had any better ideas or suggestions.

Hi Melissa. I love your folding videos, though my husband hates the shopping trip that ensues after I realize I have so much empty space to fill. Some of my fitted sheets have elastic all the way around and I can't fold them to save my life. Any suggestions?

I tuck all the corners of my fitted sheets together which makes it square; then fold in half then triple fold. It makes the sheet even smaller. I do the same for the top sheet then I can tuck them into one of the matching pillow cases. It keeps everything together and looks nicer in the linen closet. Also stops the sheets from being unraveled when your pulling others out.

When I fold my fitted sheets I do mine a little different, I do the corners the same but I tuck the second corners into the first. So that that are tucked into each other and then do everything else the same, trifold. The end result is very neat.

Hi Melissa, I have a question for you. How to clean bottles or vases with very narrow openings? Some have deposits at the bottom and a cleaning toothbrush or even more elaborate tools don't get the job done correctly (it's really difficult to scrub).
I usually join the four corners, it makes for less bulk than leaving the two sides separated!

When I fold my fitted sheets I match up all four corners before folding. I might try your method next time and see which is easier.
What is the best way to hang different items including what kind of hangers? I have used the old metal skirt hangers with the big bulgy clips that rip my skirts to shreds.

As soon as I started washing my own sheets ( about a year after I started washing my own clothes at age 10-11) I learned how to fold fitted sheets with my mom then a couple sheet washes later I did it alone!! Love you mom!!

+Average Jane Silk sheets are, as far as I know, better for hair. The slippery fibers do less damage :)

I find it easier to get help from someone to fold the sheets to your bed. I get where you're coming from. To do that if no one is around to help. That's just me.

Nice video as always but why repeat things that you already did. Such as the folding a fitted sheet. By the way, I never would have thought to make animals out of towels. I wouldn't want to but a cute idea.
