Great tips on folding clothes. I personally like to fold my towels in half and then in thirds because they will stack better in the small cabinet that I store them in. I fold everything else basically the same as you show in the video and have for years because it's the easiest way for me to fold. Thanks for all of your great videos and I look forward to the next video!

a new Container Store opened closer to my home and I purchased one of those foldie things! I love it so much It helps make folding shirts and towels so neat

OMG THAT TRICK WITH THE MAGAZINE!!! So helpful!! I've been struggling for years on how to fold those shirts for my dad. Gonna try it on the next load of laundry!
Sara1227 Instead of a magazine I use a cheap plastic 9" x 12" clip board. I find it easier since the clip board is sturdy and not flimsy like a magazine. Since the plastic is sturdy and smooth it slides out of shirts very easy. I keep the clip board on a shelf in the laundry where I do my folding. I use it to fold all my shirts, t-shirts, sweaters etc that way every thing is folded the same size.
Great idea also! I don't have a 9" x 12" clip board, but your idea is just BRILLIANT! I think using anything with a rectangular/square shape would work perfectly :)

I got suckered in, when the FlipNFolds first came out, at $20.
I think even the flip fold device, is also at the dollar places.
But you can't read the clip board next time you wear that shirt???? LoL :^)

you're my new hero. I SO wish I'd found u sooner! I'm in the process of moving now and ended up throwing everything from my wreck of a home into storage and plan to read Marie Kondo's first book while I find my new space. hopefully that way when I'm unpacking I can throw tons of stuff out so I don't end up living in such a cluster next time. plus I'm going to read everything on your website and I already subscribed here and now I'm going to follow u everywhere else! I hated the disorganization and clutter but bc I didn't know how to fix it, I just sat amongst it cursing!!! lol. never again. Do you guys have any articles or videos on moving and/or unpacking and organizing in a new space? that wud be really helpful to keep in mind while apt hunting... ur brilliant BTW, I 💗 u! 😘
I probably said this before, but I love your folding videos. I used the one for regular shirts, pants, undergarments, and found that I had more space in them to store hats/beanies, and had a full extra drawer to put other things in. These really work and I really just want to thank you.
I just reorganized my drawers and I added my shirts into it and even though I added some clothes to it I got an extra drawer now just by folding my clothes properly!!!!!

Hi! I like my towels with smooth edges. I first fold the towel in thirds rather than half like u did in length. then I go ahead and fold the rest of the way like u did. It just hides the edges so they look smooth. And yes I get excited over hotel spas and rooms as well. Something about well folded towels that make me happy.

Tanusha Rughoobur Ikr I work at kohl’s.That one method where she grabbed the corners of the shirt and pulled would be way faster once mastered. Than using the method that involves laying shirt flat and folding each side and sleeve on the shirt than folding the bottom up and flipping over so that the print shows.

Thank u Melissa, such an informative video! I thought I would share one cool tip I came across once. It's about toilet paper:P I learned if u put a few drops of ur favorite essential oil on side of ur roll it works like a air freshener and ur bathroom will smell amazing! Hope ur day is beautiful, hugs!
Great idea! I am allergic to synthetic fragrances, and the natural sprays are pricey.

I am addicted to your video! Loved your pillows. Did you make it or buy those pillow cases? How much time you spend for cleaning. After watching your video, I do the cleaning but feel most of the day is gone in cleaning:(

I do the Japanese shirt folding technique and add another fold so that it's the same dimensions as your original shirt folding technique. It stands up by itself and I find it faster than the original method
We roll our hoodies into the hood it works really well for us and makes it easy to pick up and chuck in a bag for the day and it will stay neat in the bag as well :D
First fold it like the button up until it is long and thin and roll into the hood simple as pie :D
How to fold and organized comforter?? Please, I haven't seen any videos on this topic. I very much struggle keeping them nicely fold and organize in the closet. Also if anymore here has any tips please feel free to share. Thanks

I get all my shirts folded with a medium notebook as soon as Im ironing because I like to have it stacked perfectly and I like all the shirts to get perfectly folded for the size of the drawer :)

The art of folding our things in exchange for living our lives as fast as possible has been lost. My mom always folded our clothes, towels, sheets, (yes even the fitted sheets) so beautifully. She tried to pass that on to me. Yes it takes a little extra time but its worth it.

I never mastered the Japanese folding shirt method. I prefer the initial folding method because it's easier and stacks better in the drawer, and wow Chad was very impressive during the show down. lol. Also how would fold sport bras and shorts (especially the jersey shorts that always wiggle out)?

I used to work In hotel Industry, the lay in long ways and fold it in 3s is actually better and looks better, easier to stack. Both methods are pretty

I love your vids and tips! I don't usually insist there is one right way to do something, but towels! NO! Thirds lengthwise, then thirds again. You have the same round edge in front and it hides the edges on both sides. Most importantly, when you take them out and hang them on the towel bar, they are symmetrical with no edges showing except the trimmed edge on the bottom (if there is one). Thanks for all your help! I'm trying to print out and put together a "book" of all your stuff for my kid heading off to college.

Hey Melissa how would you best way to fold pajama pants thin or thick fabric and Basketball shorts?
I’m pretty good at folding fitted sheets for smaller beds, but trying to do king size fitted sheets is a bit of a nightmare. I would love knowing if you have any tricks up your sleeve for those!

Melissa, while Chad "appeared" to have won the folding contest, I would like to see what those T-shirts looked like weeks after they've been folded. I would think yours would look less wrinkled, as Chad just flipped in the sides without shaking or smoothing out anything. So the real winner is Melissa as far as I can tell... and only a couple of shirts slower in fold time but much neater and more wearable without needing to iron (and that's always a winner in my book!)! However, I must say I enjoyed Chad's victory celebration. He's a funny guy!
I enjoyed the video, regardless of who won. Also, I'm all about the folded side of my towels showing in the linen closet. However, if you fold it lengthwise in thirds, then in half, and in half again, you only have one side with raw edges. When it comes time to hang your towel on the towel rod, you only unfold the last fold and it's ready to hang easily and beautifully. Additionally, I fold my TP into points when I have company too! The devil is in the details!!! Well done!

THIS is the same was I have folded my towels---really bath sheets---all my life....so quick & neat when stacked.
Of course it helps that I am tall + have nice long arms! 😉

just a quick tip .... when I fold hoodies I always fold the body part as normal then tuck it inside the hood then when you open your closet you can see the hood first so you know its not just an ordinary sweater :)

I fold my hoodies leaving the hood out and once folded I insert the hoodie in the hood, it keeps the hoodie inside and doesn't get undone, they look roughly the same (yay ocpd tendencies) and easy to stack. I know, I'm a genious.
I have seen the Martha Stewart way to fold fitted sheets, but do you know of anothe way to fold fitted sheets of envelop sheets?
i love this!! can you do a video about folding bathing suits? I have a tankini top bathing suit with like a bra top to help support, and a kirt bottom but i can never fold either one of them! i end up tossing them in the top of my drawer covering my beautifully folded undies and socks
I fold sweatshirts normally w hood out then use the hood to wrap the sweatshirt & keep it all together.
About time I found somebdy to show it step by step sheesh..😅
