What happens if we just leave the cart with batteries connected to the charger all winter long? Our charger is programmed to wake up and charge at pre-set intervals, is that bad? Thanks for your great information.

I store my cart in fridged temperatures for up to 6 months. I've been told that deep cycle batteries need to discharge adequately. Keeping them fully charged state supposedly causes premature wear. I would recommend at least 7 charging cycles after adding deionized water to your batteries before storage. The charged electrolytes will prevent the water in your battery from freezing. Disconnect all negative cables to prevent parasitic draw.

Thanks for the tip. I guess there are some different theories out there. We store 300+ cars using this method and have excellent luck with battery life in fleet applications.

What about installing a battery tender or maintainer?

You would have to use a maintainer for the proper voltage, 36, 48 etc. to maintain all batteries at the same time, or an individual maintainer for each battery is needed. In our experience when the battery pack is stored properly maintainers are not needed. Thank You
