    Cool setup man, mine is gas and is set up for my neighborhood as well with the street legal stuff. I like yer idea of the seat strap. That will come in handy when I fill up the gas tank. Thanx fer the share man.

    I have a 2005 ezgo txt 36volt and that's just about exactly what I want to do with it. Its clean and I picked it up dirt cheap but it needs new batteries, so a set of light weight lithium batteries are on the top of the list. I want to run it around the neighborhood and/or all weekend on the ranch without it dying in the back forty. Looks like a cool setup and I love the extra isolated 12v for the accessories. I was thinking the same thing for mine. I have an led ligh bar across the front of mine tied into two 6v batteries in the pack but it dims and flickers every time I floor the accelerator. Nice cart!

      EFX-BLADE AT 23x10.5-12
      I've been happy with them. Good traction without being noisy.

    how does the additional 12v battery charge when you connect the square EZGO plug? or do you have to charge the 12v battery independently? Also the upgraded motor, what HP is it rated for.

    • @Engineering_Improvisation
      @Engineering_Improvisation  3 роки тому

      I charge the 12v battery separately. I found a charger that has a pigtail that stays connected to the battery so it connects similar to the main pack charger. I don't remember the power numbers off-hand but I think stock is 2hp and this one is about 3.5 ... or thereabouts.

    What brand are the rims? Really like the center star being we’re from Texas also. I’m currently upgrading our 2007 Ezgo TXT.

    Question, what lift are you running? Sick cart!

    • @Engineering_Improvisation
      @Engineering_Improvisation  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks ... and good question as it was put in when I got it, though not done well as I had to fix it. I think it's a Jake's 6" by the look of the components.

    Did you buy a new plum quick motor or send yours off to be upgraded? And how long did it take if did upgrade. Tks nice cart

    • @Engineering_Improvisation
      @Engineering_Improvisation  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks. The motor was already on the cart when I got it so I don't know the process. I will say that the motor is one of the few things that I didn't need to repair or replace so I can say that Plum Quick does quality work.

      @@Engineering_Improvisation Tks, I’m wanting to get mine sent to plum quick but I want it back by camping season. Might jus have to wait till fall.

    how do you charge the aux' 12v battery?

    • @Engineering_Improvisation
      @Engineering_Improvisation  3 роки тому

      I got an inexpensive charger usually used for vehicle storage. It has a dongle that stays connected to the battery and I ran the connector through the body under the main pack connector. You can see the connector near the beginning of the video.

    Where did you get the seat belts from ?

    • @Engineering_Improvisation
      @Engineering_Improvisation  3 роки тому

      I used to get parts from MadJax, but they've been bought out by Nivel. Www.nivelparts.com I'm sure there are others, though.

    Great job man;) did you change the carbon fibre dash? How difficult was it?

    • @Engineering_Improvisation
      @Engineering_Improvisation  2 роки тому

      Thanks. Not real carbon, of course. It's just an overlay and just slips over the factory dash - held on by a few screws.

    • @JamesPSure
      @JamesPSure 2 роки тому

      @@Engineering_Improvisation Thanks, online they're about $180, cant believe its so expensive for an overlay thats not even real carbon fibre. Cart parts are so expensive. Is that what you paid for yours?

    • @Engineering_Improvisation
      @Engineering_Improvisation  2 роки тому

      Wow, that is expensive! It was about 7 years ago for me. Don't remember what I paid but it wasn't nearly that much.

  • @tonystephens1027

    Nice setup!! Is that a high torque motor? I'm wanting to upgrade mine with more torque to go uphill better. Don't really care about the speed. I'm assuming I'll have to upgrade that as well.

    • @Engineering_Improvisation
      @Engineering_Improvisation  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! The motor is from Plum Quick (higher power, torque, and max rpm) and the adjustable controller is great for adjusting to your needs on the fly. You'll need both to get the performance gains. There are other tricks but those can can get complicated and/or expensive.

      I wish I knew, it was already painted. Looks really close to my truck so it could be the Ram/Jeep true blue metallic, or similar.

    Where do you buy one?

    • @Engineering_Improvisation
      @Engineering_Improvisation  2 роки тому

      Depends on where you live. They're easy to find in a lot of coastal areas or areas where they can be made road legal. Otherwise, you may have to build one as parts are pretty easy to get for nearly any base golf cart.

      I was going to do that, but I sometimes run the radio and lights for a long time while parked so I wanted to keep the main pack charged.

      You mean some kind of collaboration? I don't know ... the last video I did with my cart was a battery swap and the cart has been near perfect ever sense. Can't really think of anything it needs.
