- All the different quirks about playing tennis in the Philippines as compared to playing tennis in the US. They do a lot of things right, and some of it is just really cool.
I'm a Filipino Living in Itàly for 13 years.I'm a tennis enthusiast. I started playing tennis in Philippines when i was 30 years old and then i left there 3 years after i learn tennis.Tennis is fun there in the Philippines i play recreational tennis a lot of times and commercial tennis sometimes. If i want serious games ,i play commercial matches but i dont recommend it. Various antics, sandbagging, foot faults, unfair line calls, game fixing, or cheating in general occur in commercial maches.I think thats one of the reason why there is no full grown Filipino tennis player in top 500 because of that commercial games..Usually when they will become 3.0- 3.5 ,they started playing commercial games. Commercial games can stuck your skills because the mindset of the player is to keep the ball in play and not loose because of the bet. That's why they keep loob , slice, monballs etc and they can't improve their power game.Tennis here in Italy is different. We play serious tennis here even if there is no betting.Kids here are taught to develop their power game and thats the reason why there are a lot of italians in rank 200 and above..I still love tennis in Philippines, in fact i still play commercial matches sometimes during vacation.I also played in Florida a lot of times , and its really different from Philippine tennis.I'm 4.0 player here in Italy.
Hello, thank you for your insight on this. I agree with you. I do love tennis in the Philippines, so much passion for tennis. Probably the second sport in PH after basketball #1? I learned my lesson with the commercial games, after the sandbagging and some cheating. But still, I enjoy watching others play it. How is tennis in Italy? Are there public places to play? Is it mostly red clay?
asmara wellness center is really expensive per hour, try visiting citi green tennis center in labangon cebu bec it's indoor red clay
I'm thinking of moving to Iloilo next year. Do they have indoor courts where you can play year-long?
I'm curious about the same. I will be out there late March and looking to play.
Hello, I haven't been to Iloilo yet but have heard good things. Tennis is a pretty popular sport in the Philippines, #2 or 3 behind basketball and maybe volleyball. I'm sure they would have plenty of tennis, not sure about covered courts though.
I'm hoping to move to the Philippines next year. The place that I want to settle in will be the city with the best tennis courts. Thanks for your videos, very helpful. Maybe you can explore other cities as well. Thanks
Thanks Mike, really appreciate that. I really miss Philippines tennis - very friendly, welcoming, and passionate. Currently have been in Argentina for a month, and tennis is very exclusive here, which I'm not a fan of. I only know Cebu City and Dumaguete City tennis. Cebu has more tennis but both are good. I think you will like Cebu. When you get there, get in touch with Mickey, who runs a group of guys that play doubles pickup games at Asmara. Although the price has risen, maybe 800 pesos or so per hour, they split that price between everyone which comes out to only a few dollars.
So true, well done Kuya🎉
@@jfskyberillenadalito Hey there, thank you so much kuya ✌
Everything is pretty much spot on.
Thanks you so much. I love Filipino tennis.
In the Philippines it's always basketball courts. If there are tennis courts that can be found, it's almost always shitty surface-it's not clay
more like sand. Having said that, I was able to play on a couple of nice hard courts there-those are rare, but they exist. The problem with these
nice courts are that the tennis area is rather smallish-not much room. One example is in Venice luxury residences in Taguig. Another one is in Flushing
Meadows resort in Bohol. At least 2 that I know.
Thanks for featuring the Philippines!
You should visit City of Naga, Cebu Tennis Court
Hello, thank you, I will try to do that next time I am in the Philippines.
Are you still here in Philippines Bro? Hopefully to play with you
Hey there! No, I am currently in Argentina but I will come back to the Philippines, probably early 2024. I miss Philippines tennis, it is my favorite. And it would be great to play with you.

Have you ever played in the BGC area of Manila?
No I have not been to Manila. I got stuck in Cebu, in a good way, because I liked it so much.
@@primaltennis Cebu (in my opinion) is a overall better city to live in than Manila. I was in the P.I. in August and really like the modern feel of Cebu. But I haven’t been able to yet visit BGC, which is supposed to be quite nice.
Oh yeah

Most people think, investing in crypto is all about buying coins and leaving it to rise, come on it takes much analysis to be a successful crypto trader.
Trading without professional guide... Huh I laugh you, because you will remain where you are or even make huge losses that will stop you from trading, this has been one of the biggest problem to new traders

Please don’t let pickleball infect your country like they did here in the US.
Weird
How are the other countries (like Thailand) different from the Philippines? You didn’t mention that.
Is calling them insane a clickbait? They’re not insane for them, most likely.
Using the word insane, for me, is slang for "crazy awesome". There are a lot of differences and I like both. Philippines, at least Cebu City, has a majority of clay courts. But not a typical clay court like in US and Europe. The clay is a little slippery and plays fast. Players are extremely welcoming and do a lot of pick-up games where everyone just shows up and plays. It is my favorite style of tennis. Thailand is almost all hard courts. Chiang Mai does pick-up games and is welcoming, but in Bankgok and Pattaya you need court reservations or hire someone to play with, which makes it difficult if you only have a few weeks there.
@@primaltennisusually in the Philippine tennis clubs especially in Visayas and Mindanao, there’s a match maker in the club and would match your tennis skills to other players on your level so will have a good match, and yeah each player has to bet money so it will really be a serious match, if other players who are spectators, maybe waiting for their match might also do a side betting on your game if they like the match. That’s Filipino tennis it’s always associated with gambling. BTW the court is not called clay court, they call it Shell court as they are not just dirt like you said, it’s actually crushed limestones and seashells.
shell court the best
