Nothing beats a Wimpy half-pounder.Mc-d's and Burger King just can't match it.They're bloody pricey and good luck actually finding a Wimpy restaurant in the first place, but they're worth every penny.

The burgers are much higher quality in Burger King....the MC Donald's ones, the sauces and cheese are all slimy and the food is usually tepid!

Burger King have always been consistently good plus I like the addition of the mayo. Price wise confirms things. So yes, a big vote for BK over Wimpy.

I've been an ovo-lacto vegetarian for about 20yrs. But from what I can recall, it looks to me like The Whopper has shrunk! That being said, The Whopper still get's my vote. It just looked better. Something just didn't look right about the meat in the Wimpy burger, it looked dry.

great video as per usual, have to go with bk on this occasion, although wimpy does stoke the childhood memories of knickerblocker glory's.
Loved wimpy when i was a kid but for me BK wbopper is on another level to the wimpy burgers.

Wimpy never went away. Still plenty of them just not as many as the massive chains.

American here-I’ve never liked BK and haven’t eaten there since I was in high school (late ‘60s), precisely because of the flame-grilled taste. But I wish they had Wimpy here. I’m not sure if they’re in the US at all; I just know they’re not in my area. The burger you had looked good to me, and I’d just like to try one.

Last time I saw a Wimpy was at Sunderland Station back in 1990 before it became Burger King after a refit. Used to love the frankfurter with the burger and egg inside it but its gotta be BK over McD and Wendys

Kudos to Wimpy for providing ketchup and vinegar for the chips. A bit onion on the burger would do wonders. Do they still charge 3p for a packet of ketchup at bk and macd's in Britain?

I would put both Burger King and Wimpy before McD's. I like that Wimpy serve their food on 'real' plates with actual cutlery. I am just not keen on these polystyrene boxes and the food that comes wrapped in paper just makes it soggy and unappetising especially if it has been sitting around for any length of time. I tried food at Tim Hortons recently for the first time and it was awful for that reason.
I can remember Wimpy hamburgers being 99p. I used to buy 2 at a time.
The Burger King meal looked very nice, I like burgers in a sesame seeded bun, decent burger & filling even better with cheese. I always liked Wimpy but they are no longer in my area, have to say apart from the decent size portion of chips I was disappointed with the Wimpy Burger Meal & the Coke looked on the flat side. Your review is fair but I was saddened with the result.... the other day I ventured out in the rain to have a Wimpy, I like them but that's just me. BK is good and their fries are definitely better than Maccy D's , if you ever give them a 2nd chance ask for a dollop of Special sauce it's really nice. Next time you're London try out Shake Shack (I do not work for S.S)

Burger King is definitely nicer than Mc Donald's....the chips are nicer and the burger is flame grilled and less slimy......it's been so long since I went to Wimpy 1995!! I would need to try it again to compare. The modern design of the burger king restaurant looks good...I prefer ordering on the screens for fast food, rather than waitress service

BK for me. In the US they always have the best deals and weekly coupons. I always get the whopper with cheese, fries and onion rings. Those make the best combo bites.
Seeing as you don't have wimpy over there I highly doubt you've tried Wimpy. Wimpy is far superior
Wimpys was founded in the US in the 30s. The restaurants closed in the 70s. We had two locations where I lived. I thought their burgers were great at the time. Burger King took over the location closest to me. Much cheaper than Mickey D’s.
Wimpy did look a bit lack luster, i do like BK chips it's a shame you don't get many in a packet, i don't know if it's the BKs i have been too but they always seem to be messy, and the burgers despite being freshly made seem to be luke warm by the time i get to the table from the counter.

A Whopper with Cheese is my favourite burger and has been for decades. I've eaten better burgers, but the Whopper wins on its consistent flame-grilled taste, price point, fresh salad, and size. Wimpy burgers are passable, but the meat always looks a bit pale and dodgy, like the crap they serve at traveling fairs, and they taste the same, a bit cheap and nasty. Saying that I had a Wimpy a few years back and enjoyed it, but I had the mixed grill, not a burger.
No burger ever needs ketchup.

Here in Canada the Wimpy's burgers are shaped like a bear claw. I don't actually like them but like you said the breakfasts are amazing. I am actually not a fan of Burger King either. Do you have A&W in England? Now that is good burger.

Wimpy is the best i grow up eating in back home you remind me of my child hood..
As a Diner the table service is well worth the little but extra to have it served to your table and is more likely to be freshly prepared. Portion wise Wimpy was substantiually more than BK, so ony cars i would say go Wimpy!

I’m disappointed Combo King. I avoid BK because it’s so expensive so I thought Wimpy would kick BK’s ass. Silly me. BK’s food was tastier and cheaper! (Shock horror) Thanks for this one mate. 👍

Easily burger king.. wimpy one looked like a value rustlers burger with a bit of salad
Either one wins , but both decent, paid more in wimpy but you got food on a plate and a waitress service, preferred wimpy because I can handle the salt content on the chips, don’t like food already salted.
No onion in the Wimpy burger. That in itself is a miss. No Mayo either. I like Mayo on my fries, Wimpy was generous with them but if the gap between the meals was short not really a bonus!
Burger King really need to work on their buns. I had one recently and it crumbled away as I was eating through it, like it was almost stale. I can see yours was breaking up too.
That always happens to me too. Shame as Whoppers are a decent burger but the buns do just disintegrate.

i have never in my life ( i'm old) heard anyone say that a whopper was amazing. Believe you me their burgers are not always "on point". I can't comment on wimpy as i haven't eaten since the late 80's.

I use the App, Whopper Wednesday £1.99 then add an extra patty for £1.20 for a Double Whopper.. Don't like the fries..

Wimpy is clearly not a "Fast Food place" because your food arrives on a plate. If you wish to eat food off a tray and paper you can visit a fast food joint and be overcharged for 15 chips. I prefer to eat off a plate with cutlery, so will choose Wimpy everytime. The burger didn't look underwhelming to me at all, it looked freshly cooked with fresh lettuce, and the chips looked great. They don't put salt on cos it's on the table for you to put on as much as you prefer. Yes, if I'm outside or sitting in a car I'll eat off paper or a polystyrene tray, but if I walk into a diner and sit down then I expect a plate and glass to drink from.

The one Wimpy we had here went out of business many years ago. Ive never had one. Burger King doesn't seem as good as it used to be, usually cold and flavorless.

Burger King and Wimpey was owned by the same company , Burger King were simply rebranded Wimpy's to compete with McD's but Wimpy sold to a South African franchise about 20 years ago and no longer what they used to be which makes Burger King more original than Wimpy in every way.

Wimpy burgers have gone downhill in recent years quality is definitely compromised in Wimpy. I went to a Wimpy in Lakeside 2 weeks ago and was very disappointed.
