Officially, US and Israel won't recognize Palestine as a country until they make sure that there is a peaceful Palestinian state on the other side. Similarly, Israel won't stop the occupation until the Palestinians (who are not part of the Palestinian state) stop firing rockets. Those Palestinians who fire rockets time by time receive fundings from their allies from several Arab states (+Iran), because they call them "Resistant movements". Don't forget that Iran mostly supports Hezbolah, which is not part of this mess. Iran-Hamas relation has its own complication. My point is that Iran's position toward Israel is not very important in this context. Their hostility against Israel is political. They have never threat Israel for direct military attack.
