Our upcoming exhibition ‘Close’, a collection of recent paintings and drawings by Rosie Phillips, opens this week.
‘Close’ is a collaboration between Contemporary and Country and the Crypt Gallery at Norwich School. The gallery space has been a working studio for a Norwich-based artist residency, the first of its kind, for portrait artist Rosie Phillips since the beginning of January.
Rosie has spent her residency meeting with staff and pupils at Norwich school, as well as members of the community at Norwich Cathedral. After her initial discussions Rosie worked to create new artwork inspired by her interactions.
This exhibition will conclude Rosie’s residency with us at the Crypt Gallery and showcase the work made during this time. The show will be curated by Contemporary and Country and will be a display of recent paintings and outcomes from the residency.
