If Lucy was my English teacher in school, I probably wouldn't have ended up becoming a lazy native English speaker. These have got to be the best English lessons I've ever seen, very engaging with so many great examples.
I'm a native English speaker, taught at school in England. I have never learned this for English. I have only learned about such grammar for foreign languages. This is ridiculous! Thank you for this lesson.
I have been watching and being interested in Lucy's lessons for many years. I will be waiting for Lucy's videos. I will have read Lucy's ebook by tomorrow
I'm enjoying these lessons for four reasons: - Learning the rules which underpin the ways I instinctively use and pronounce English - Seeing IPA spellings to accompany such pronunciation - Her demonstration of syllabic emphasis compared with my American English - Being flattered as a "lovely student"
I hahn't been taught as precisely as this video since I began my endeavor to learn English, and I won't have been taught as well as this journey continues. Brilliant as ever, Thank you.
Thanks for explaining this. I'm a student in a german middle school and I have already learned the present simple tense. I will learn the past perfect soon. But first I will learn the passive, which I already know. You're the BEST teacher I've EVER seen. Great job!
I don’t know which is worse: complicated tenses in English or unpredictable genders of German nouns. Complicated morphology in Slavic languages is probably even more challenging. Hard to tell if your native language is Russian. Anyway, viel Glück beim Lernen!
Certainly one of the best explanations of the perfect tenses if not the best! Thanks for this video! I'm sure, many had struggled with the perfect tenses before they watched this video.
I had been confused ...so I came cross with this ' astounding ' lesson rising an epiphany moment with this ethereal explanation. Thanks for the dulcet lecture.😊😊😊
😮my lovely Lucy , however manytimes you teach us about perfect tenses, it is always freshly unique and deepens my understanding of it not to forget it easly .😊
Lucy, I also want to join your English learning programme in all the levels upto C1 level. I like your today's lesson Perfect Tenses and Future Perfect Tenses. Happy International Womens" Day to my best teacher Lucy
When should we use the present perfect instead of the past simple? Like, what's the difference between 'I've been to New York' and 'I was in New York'? And if there's no difference, when should I use each of mentioned tenses above?
Wow this is absolutely wonderful.. I never realised I have been understanding incorrect tenses... Thank you so much for this...Lucy..❤ you're really a gem..!!! Take care... :)
This is very useful, as I never learnt this is school, even as a native English speaker, growing up in an English speaking country. I’d love it if you’d consider doing a video on honourifics, sometime.
Hello and Hi Mrs. Lucy I am a new member here, I have been watching your UA-cam lessons it was perfect and wonderful. I will be waiting for your next videos of C1 English grammar. Best of Luck Nasrat From Afghanistan
Love the grammar lessons, still I would like to see videos with conversations in different situations like at the coffee shop, hospital, park, university, etc.
Hey there Lucy I would love to get some help on the following:- Gerunds Transitive and Intransitive verbs Kinds of pronouns Hope you wouldn't mind uploading a few videos like these Regards Prajna
Great video. I have a question. Let's say for example that I haven't talked to someone for a while now, and I decide to call them, and after two minutes or so I tell them, "Oh, my God. I hadn't talked to you in a long time." Would that be correct? Or, "Oh, my God. I haven't talked to you in a long time" Because in theory, I'm talking to them now, so the idea of "Me not talking to them" is in the past. So my best guest is "Oh, my God. I hadn't talked to you in a long time, but I'm not sure. Please, help
