I just put line on an old spinner last week, got twisted, a mess. I ordered one of these last night from Amazon. It was here this morning. Just watched your video and have now put line back on the spinner. Perfect. Great instruction video and thanks to Pisciful for making line winding easy, wish I had one in the 50s, yea I am old...lol
Just recieved mine a few days ago from Amazon. Playedwith it respooling a bait caster and also a spin caster. Love it. So easy to use and went out and tested for line twist.. Great No Line Twist.. I have actually ordered one each for my two fishing buddies so they can have fun to playing with it and respooling with it.
*Was very surprised at the sensitivity of this rod **enjoyable.fishing** recommend Was very impressed. And the extendable handle really lets you get a great casting action.*
Great video but I was hoping you'd include how you attached the line to the reel or to a backing line. Does it matter if you're left or right handed ? Thanks.😎
Beware of using with smaller spools. First, the conical arbors do not fit well in the small hole of the spool and rock back-and-forth even when you tighten it. Second, the line will naturally jump of the side of new (full) spools and it will be a mess wrapped around both the spooler and the reel. I got tired of fighting it and finally just laid the spool down on the floor and filled the reel old school using my fingers to put tension on the line while I loaded it (Trilene XL 8lb). Bottom line, I've used it once for a 3000 size Piscifun Viper X spinning reel and it was a mess. I AM NOT SAYING THIS THING DOESN'T WORK. I'm saying you need to beware with new (full) thin/small spools.
I wonder if maybe the one you received had some kind of defect or was faulty. I have used mine sever times now over the years and havent had any issues with it. I actually have this one and the one that attaches to the fishing rod itself both seem to work fine.
@@carpandcatfishbaitstipstri7309 Nope. I think it's a combination of me not being familiar with it, the arbor thing, and that skinny spool that the line leaps of off. I've been impressed so far with Piscifun quality. At no time have I ever thought I wasn't getting what I paid for (I've bought a rod, several fly and spinning reels, tools, etc). This was just a "beware" comment for other doofs like me.
Yes, you´re right! The same experience for me. And bc the spool mechanism spin freely it continue to rotate bc of inertia and the line pull of the spool. I improved in my own way and now it works much better. I was able to be improve the stability of the spool (to get rid of the back-and-forth movement) and to stop the line to jump of the spool. And I brake the axel of the spool mechanism to rotate freely. It works much better but not perfect!
@@beefyweefy08 it was mono that was installed with it. I didnt get any wind knots but I only used the reel to do a review video on with a little fishing. How do you not get line twist doing it this way? it seems like the spool spinning would create unnecessary line twist while putting the line on the rod. What was your experience using this, then using the reel fishing.
I don't really know the answer on why it works but it does there are several models on the web that do the same thing and it's made to keep it from getting twist. Seemed great on the reels I spooled with it
@@carpandcatfishbaitstipstri7309 Good to know👍. Thanks for the reply. As long as your saying it works without creating unnecessary issues I'm going to try it out.
@@carpandcatfishbaitstipstri7309 The amount of line twist between the spool and the reel causes the spool to spin laterally but it's not that simple because 1) the spool and the reel are different diameters and 2) even if the diameters were the same, the spool and the reel would have to spin at the same speed to be effective.
I tried to put my 2500 yard spool on this one and it would not fit. I did a video on there other line spooler as well and it fits my 2500 yard spools on it. Here is a link to the video on that item. I just got mine yesterday. On a spinning reel it doesn't matter cause the top part will be turning. On a bait casting reel you want it coming off the bottom. I assume for a spin cast reel you want it coming off the bottom. Hope this helps. I really like mine cause it has solved the dreaded line twist spooling my spinning reels. A real game changer for me cause I can spend more time fishing rather than untangling line!!!
Just wondering if it matters what way you have the line coming off the spool to start. Should the "label" on the spool face one direction or the other to help eliminate memory?
On the box it does show the line coming off the bottom but in the directions it says it should come off the top and shows that in the pictures as well. They can't even make decent instruction manuals anymore. I don't even understand how they get to the point of producing something without catching that.
Being that the spool of line rotates when reeling I don't think it matters what way you start the line coming off because one crank it will be coming off the bottom the next off the top
@@carpandcatfishbaitstipstri7309 Yeah you're right, I wrote that before I actually used it lol. On baitcasters though the spool remains still. Not sure it matters in that case either.
I start slow and it just pulls line. Even after manually making it spin, it only spins a few seconds. Figured the momentum would help it but no. Anyone have have tips? I'm trying with 18lb braid on a 2500 reel. Is there something I have to adjust?
Steve you may contact piscifun. i have since used the one in the video a couple more times and each time it has worked well for me. I just had to start slow and when it started spinning I could crank it pretty fast.
I did manage to get it to work. I changed the distance from the spool to the reel and that seemed to get it to work. Make a few adjustments and you'll get it. It was well worth it when I finally figured it out. GL

I must be doing something wrong line loaded much more to the back of the reel, veru uneven and I could never get the spool to spin for my spinning reel. Does anyone have any suggestions before I return it
if the line isnt laying level on the reel then that is likely the reel itself as it determines the line lay. I had to start mine slow to get it spinning and then it is good to go.

Doesn't matter what hand you reel. I use an arbor knot to attach line to a reel but everyone seems to have there own favorite knot
the unwind feature is cool. pulled some line off a 6000 reel and put it on two smaller reels.
I found it works best holding it vertical when spooling up spinning reels.
I have been looking at these online. I think you just sold me on it, thanks!

One thing that confuses me is this… should you set up the line spool with line coming off the TOP or BOTTOM of the line spool?
Over the top for a baitcaster or conventional reel. Underneath for a spinning reel.
Does it matter if the line comes off the top or the bottom of the spool?
