  • 2003-2009 3rd gen Cummins. The 6.7 Cummins may use some different parts but I’m pretty positive on the 3rd gen it’s basically the same dodge made some changes when the 4th gen came out. Compressor clutch was stuck engaged and stopped creating pressure after the compressor discharged out of the relief valve. I originally tried to just recharge it after I replaced the fan clutch which can cause clutch and compressor failure. I pulled the trigger on a complete ac system replacement because it’s cheaper than replacing the compressor twice!
Make sure to have your A/C system properly evacuated a professional repair shop should evacuate and recharge your system for relatively cheap before and after your repairs
Parts used (both purchased on rock auto)
Four seasons compressor kit part number 4343NK
    CSF Condenser
A/C flush and a sprayer can be purchased from most auto parts store
    Tools needed
General metric hand tools sockets, wrenches, etc Battery’s are generally a ½ nut
½ drive ratchet or breaker bar (for tensioner)
Lisle 39900 Master Disconnect Set a.co/d/dbPpiKI (Auto parts stores will sell these)
Air Compressor and tire inflator (for flushing)
    Optional A/C r134a gauges

The toughest part is quick connects if they have been on there for a long time exposed to heat and dust and the o-rings have dried hardened. Putting PAG oil on the plastic or metal removal tool and pressing in a few times while twisting makes it a lot easier.

Awesome and informative video. Glad to see people making in-depth guides and showing how to do it, rather than say it and expect people to know. This will help a ton of people. Keep up the great content! Subbed.

I see the way your pump was on there so that helped cuz I wasn't sure if you could actually put the pump on upside down😊

I would be interested in how to hook up gauges and how to charge the refrigerant?

Great job thanks for the detail that really helped. I’m replacing everything fire wall forward new.
What is the flush solvent & where does some pick it up. What were you blowing the lines out with after you ran the flush solvent, just air until it’s dry inside?

What amount of pag oil did you have to add? My compressor comes with a factory load of oil, but how much needs to be added to compensate for the system?
