thank you.. i just spent 2 hours trying to figure this shading out on HDS7/cmap. Nothing made sense with wierd results. Who knew it had to be delimited to 0% transparency first... i do now. Will retry first thing tomorrow. ......appreciated.......
Hi Dale...Did you ever find out if Navionics Platinum allows you to do the custom color shading? I could not get it to work. Thought you might have a few tricks. Thanks for the videos.
I do not believe this works on Ti2 units. The custom is not selectable under cmap genesis. I’ve mapped the full lake and unfortunately can’t shade. Good reason to switch to birds
Did you configure the two custom depths? Also be sure your unit has the latest update applied and lastly that you have a lake of interest downloaded from C-Map, saved to an SD card inserted and that the chart is selected as your chart source.
@@samzeilman3301 Lowrance just released this weekly video. In your Chart Menu, make sure you look through the various setting and turn on High Chart detail, Community Edits etc. Make sure your Navionics Chip is up to date as well. ua-cam.com/video/Z3FMU5IEjd8/v-deo.html&feature=em-uploademail
came across this by accident whilst looking at depth shading. Look for depth limit...set it very low .. like 2 ft or 1m and anything above that will not be shown. maybe even zero will work .
Open the Chart Page and select Chart Options (make sure full detail is on) you also need to have an SD Card inserted with a Lake Map from C-Map downloaded and saved to your SD Card.

Dale Wyman Thanks Dale. I have full detail selected under chart options. I only have one card reader on my unit so how can I have a C-Map lake map and a genesis social map on it at the same time? My unit came with C-Map insight pro coastal and inland lakes on a sd card. Do you subscribe to genesis edge?
This completely changes the way I view my social maps now. Thank you so much, Dale!
Glad it helped!!!

I can't get my Gen 3 to show both depths 1&2 at the same time like you did, Any thoughts? What unit are you using?

Yes I did all that.
Any idea on how to make my lowrance show the channel for inlets etc? And the icw
That depends on what MAP Chip you are using and on which particular Lowrance Unit you use.

The shade option is grayed on my Elite ti unit. Trying to use it with social maps. Any ideas on how to turn it on? Do you need to subscribe to it?
Make sure you have applied the latest software update to your unit.
@@DaleWyman Thanks for the reply. Yes, i have updated to 18.2. Tech support has no clue either.

Your shading was red for 20-25 feet, not 15-20 feet.
