Poseidon was mad that Odysseus didn’t kill Polyphemus because I believe in Greek mythology if you fight someone it was considered a insult to not kill them because it’s like saying that they aren’t important or dangerous enough for you to kill
It also hurts more when you realize that in the original tale, Odysseus was only a few feet away from getting home before the wind bag was open. Making *whoever* open the wind bag the reason why so many of them died to Poseidon. Also some ppl mentioned how Odysseus didn’t really apologize to Poseidon. He never said “I’m sorry” or “I apologize”, he just made excuses for why he blinded the cyclops. Granted, Poseidon was always going to kill Odysseus. He just made it more traumatizing by killing 500+ men in front of Odysseus before doing so.

The Circe Saga is next! Definitely a very popular one and my friend’s favorite! The Ocean saga may very well be my favorite saga, however the next three left are fantastic and frankly, my opinion changes from day to day. Poseidon was never planning on sparing him, & his song shows it, as he told Odysseus directly that if he’d been ruthless and killed the cyclops, the consequences wouldn’t have bitten him in the ass like this. I feel like the outcome being set from the start (aka Poseidon already planning on killing Odysseus regardless of what he did or said) is a really cool parallel to the song Polyphemus-when Odysseus starts bartering with Polyphemus & offering to give him the wine, he says “no bloodshed in here today” and like. Buddy, you get an A for effort, but blood was definitely already shed here-thus, it is already too late. The sheep is dead, Polyphemus said it was his favorite, and wine can’t fix that

So despite what the voice actor and the animatics show you, Aeolus is a male god. It is very popular in Greek mythology to act like and change to look like different genders.
in response to your question about how the gods get along, its VERY complicated. A lot of the major gods are actually directly related to each other (which usually means they're related to Zeus in some way, be it siblings, children, grandchildren, etc). But honesty one of the funniest things to me about greek mythology is how much beef Zeus and Poseidon have with each other, considering they are literally brothers💀. The "Big 3" male gods are Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades (they are all brothers) and they all have beef with at least one brother lmao. The multiple gods of war also tend to not like each other very much. Aphrodite, Ares and Athena (yes, all of them are war gods, even Aphrodite) have some serious multi-sided beef (minus Ares and Aphrodite, because they are commonly depicted as lovers).
