They had us fill out a survey and asked if we would share stories about diversity at the meeting. I put on the survey that I would share about how I'm a white man married to a black woman with four kids and we've always been treated extremely well by mostly white groups of people. But nobody got called on to share, at least not while I was listening.
Also, this meeting was specifically for my location but only one of the four main speakers was actually from here.

Bullshit. I worked in SV tech companies and the people in HR did what they could diversify the hiring pipeline but no one was ever hired because they checked a box.
What I did run into was a few bitter production engineers who thought that even caring about hiring bias was a horrible threat.

I was getting a coffee this morning at my local variety store, and was speaking to a young lady, say 26 years of age (She looked like a lady,so back off you pronoun idiots)and we were talking about assimilation. I told her that inclusion, and diversity is great, as long as there is assimilation. She went into full trigger mode, and started calling me ignorant, etc. I said to her. Did I just trigger you. She said, are you going to call me a snowflake. I said no, but I am not sure why you think assimilation is a nasty word.
She said I have my social studies degree, and 4 majors.
I said so? she then proceeded to ask me for examples, where at that point I just replied. "Before I give examples, answer me one last question please" Do you believe that biological men can give birth to a baby? She was fuming, and I politely said.
Thanks for the conversation, however I think we disagree with each other.

Second of all why would I continue a discussion when when she already called me ignorant for thinking assimilation is important. At first when I got to know about this kind of thing,I thought that these nonsensical policing is restricted within the western world.However,just a few months back when I asked my cousin,who is currently working in one of the reputed companies in India,about the conditions existing in the corporate world,he told me that he was actually given a warning for sharing a light-hearted meme(You know the meme where jokes are made on how a typical woman and atypical man responds to a certain situation)on facebook.He also forwarded the email instantly to me to prove his claims.
Just thinking that spending my whole life,raising my voice against discrimination just to see that there is literally a systemic discrimination in progress against good men boils my blood.Luckily many western countries have now started recognising this stupidity and also raising a voice against it.However,I guess in my country situation will likely to get worse and I fear that there will be no mass outrage against it.
At last I just hope that I will be proven wrong
