@@SirpotatoxX while I haven't seen the movie, in the comics it is made the better for Dick being Batman. Then in the comic Batman & Robin their dynamic is a play on the original Batman and Robin, when Bruce as Batman was dark and violent Dick as Robin was a reminder to him of why they do what they do, that there is good in the hearts of people. As someone who doesn’t like Damian, it’s a conceptual thing that makes me not like the character. It’s also the fact that he takes the position that Tim Drake perfected. I think a story about Tim giving a matured Damian his blessing to be Robin would be cool and settle whatever problems I have. As for Damian succeeding as Batman, I don’t like as it feels like something monarchal. Tim is a detective so he makes sense as Bruce’s successor and Jason as Batman is just a fascinating story, and could fit well as the end of Jason’s arc. Dick Grayson doesn’t work because he’s so good as Nightwing and him becoming Batman feels like the undoing of his character development.
The issue with Damien isn't him but rather how all the other robins get mistreated in order to make him look good. Its the stereotype of a self insert fan fic.
This is one of the best versions of this character, every time i see him i think "if this Damien, met the injustice Damien, he'd beat the ab solute fuckshit out of that arrogant shit" Because injustice Damien is everything this Damien fought to not be.

I’m pretty indifferent to Damian overall, but this universe is the reason I don’t DISLIKE him like most. Also gotta respect they kept the same VA for the entire 6 years, even if that meant puberty would hit and he’d sound totally different by the end, just adds to the sense of growth.
It's a wonderful roadmap for future iterations of the character (hint hint, Mr. Gunn), really only missing one aspect of Damian that I loved: his Supersons friendship with Jon Kent, though I suppose it wasn't quite as necessary in the movies with Damian in the Titans while the logistics of Supes having a kid just kept it out of the cards.
I’m the only person in the world who likes Damien as a flawed kid with room to grow in an arc instead being like unproblematic Dick or never given much of a chance Jason.
I love Damian. I didn't love him at first, as many people didn't. But seeing him grow, seeing him open up and slowly connect to people around him, it's just so endearing.

You make some very good points about Damian. I'll admit, when he first appeared and many years later, I thought he needed a major attitude adjustment, or go away somehow. I haven't read any comics regularly in about 10 years, so I don't know if he's turned out for the better in comics.
He gets better, although DC keep resetting his development. He just had a huge event centered around him and will be in a Batman and Robin series towards the end of the year.
@@kishensukhu2292 Right! Dude was doing sooooooo well! Then they reset him with that hidden prison thing in Teen Titans and it just... ugh... Fascinating: so Damien Wayne was the Apollo Adama to Darkseid's "Count Iblis", to coin a "Battlestar Galactica" reference to a similar tale: "War of the Gods", especially as the event takes place in their universe's rendition of Hell.
Different stories make him more or less likeable. The injustice damien is rough to watch but in the injustice comics(maybe injustice 2 comics idr) theres a flashback of batman dropping him off deep into gotham with 1 goal and no rules, to make it back to the batcave by a certain time. Seems simple but along the way damien stops to help many people and even stops to talk with some of those he saved. At the end after being like 4 hours late batman says he passed. I was never a fan of the way Grant Morrison introduced him and while the character can provide interesting stories, he is not one that I really feel emotionally connected to. My favorite robins are by far Dick and Damian. Jason comes in at a distant third. And I absolutely love Damian and Raven as a couple. A much better match than Beast Boy and Raven. I really wish that They would end up together again.
Because the story ended there, there was nothing more to tell, and that makes it fulfilling, knowing that despite all the errors and tragic deaths there was still a way to save it all even if that meant ending what they had, truly beatiful if looked through that lense i suppose Ofc the movies weren't exactly that great either but what you gonna do about it.
@Fizz-q yeah I know like every story has an ending but they could of done way more with it. Giving more characters their own movies and more stories. It could've been stretched out longer
Damion frustrates me 1. Cuz yhe aforementioned making people forgey Tim. But also his only tactic in battle is to pic at someone until he finds their weekness, then harp on that weekness until they lash out and when they do he is ready to combat them...annnddd it is the most effective tactic to use on him because of how prideful he is...lather rinse repeat over and over again...for someone who claims to be soooo smart and superior you'd think at the very least he would take lengths not to be vulnerable to his only attack...
alright, I'll say it, 99% of people who hates Damian is most likely because they've only seen the Injustice version and the bad side of him instead of looking into his good side.
I love the batfamily they're all about trauma, and each of them had it in some way differently. but supermans family is motivated by hope. But I think the bat family's slogan with regard to this trauma is "justice not vengeance"
He's not my favorite Robin, but I'd be lying if I said he hasn't grown on me Tim might be my least favorite these days, which is probably exactly what DC wants
Damien's grandfather's "gang title" is literally "the demon", so it naturally fits that he'd bond with Raven; as both of them have messed up home-lives, due to their dads being gangsters... but on a completely different level of the lifestyle of a gangster., Raven's father is a literal alien, and not a good one at all. But hers is the one who slaughtered her friend's people, completely and utterly, and she is familiar with how his/its "business offers" work: seduction and temptation, whispers, nothing more.
I wish bruce tim's DCAU had all the freedom the DCAMU recieved. The DCAU had the better writers, but they always seemed bound by the bat-embargo or the age restriction thing...
I will fully state that I have not read any of the current comics and really have just been watching UA-cam videos briefly explaining them having said that from what I've seen of Damien when things hit the fan and he's needed to step up he has I know a lot of people don't like him because he's not one of the prior Robins but I like him because of that he's his own character he started off arrogant and has since come to the realization that he was never in the right as such he still young he's still a kid but he steps his game up and takes responsibility for actions and mistakes
I personally liked Damian Wayne robin and Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy as his little 10 year old self as the super sons mostly because that team is really awesome and tons of fun.
amnesia for timdrake haha well dc comic don't know what there with timdrake they really don't have any idea for tim and just made him representation robin after 20 year of being strait i actually really like what joshuawilliamson is doing with damian in comic especially his robin series in 2021 and the shadowar event and the batman vs robin series after start the new teentitan comic he was not progressing thank god dc comic has start to progress again looking forward to new batman series in september
Damien's character works best against other side characters. Dick Raven Superboy (Jon) Etc... But that's the type of character he is, he is best when written as a slow burning learning and redemption arc. And he is written the worst, when he's taken out of that and forced back into being a little piece of shit. I understand that comic characters have a status quo, but characters like Damien need to be written growing away from that. Leave the status quo to characters like Batman and Superman. Damien is a character who is supposed to be evidence that the world does get better with heroes.
Hopefully James Gunn will be able to get Young Justice resurrected and we'll eventually get Damian in the Young Justice universe. Canceling Young Justice was easily one of Zaslav's worst decisions when he took over and was 100% unnecessary.
Something I actually really liked with Damien was his relationship with Dick, who pretty much unconditionally treated him with kindness and respect as an older brother. In turn, Damien grew to respect Dick and view him as an older brother in turn.

Am I the only one who wants to see a Thomas, bruce and Damian as Batmen together in a miniseries called The Doctor, The Detective and The Demon?
😮 épico.
My favorite robins are by far Dick and Damian. Jason comes in at a distant third. And I absolutely love Damian and Raven as a couple. A much better match than Beast Boy and Raven. I really wish that They would end up together again.
Damian and raven relationship is something interesting ngl.
My god this man's content is fantastic
Damn bro, video after video I'm continuing to realise that I fucking love your essays
He is my favorite Robin .
Still waiting on those Young Justice videos.
I always had faith in Damien as a character. I'm glad he was able to grow in my expectations. Goodbye Damien, until your next reboot
No clue why there was a reset of this universe. Literally the best universe we've seen since justice league animated series
Because the story ended there, there was nothing more to tell, and that makes it fulfilling, knowing that despite all the errors and tragic deaths there was still a way to save it all even if that meant ending what they had, truly beatiful if looked through that lense i suppose
Ofc the movies weren't exactly that great either but what you gonna do about it.
@Fizz-q yeah I know like every story has an ending but they could of done way more with it. Giving more characters their own movies and more stories. It could've been stretched out longer
Because the new 52 was loosing its luster.
@@fightingmedialounge519 wym?
@@chava7263 I mean the new 52 continuity was losing its initial selling power.
I think with what DC's been doing with the character recently there's more people now that like Damien rather than hate him
Damion frustrates me 1.
You amaze me every time dude !
I came to really like this version of Damian and the new 52 movie verse
0:10 the music choice was too prefect here it was like a horr movie jumpscare
alright, I'll say it, 99% of people who hates Damian is most likely because they've only seen the Injustice version and the bad side of him instead of looking into his good side.
Now I genuinely wanna know your thoughts on the live action show "Titan"
Well put together. Unlike the onions I cooked earlier
I'm gonna miss this universe so much
I liked Damian in "Harley Quinn", because he was a humorous sort of annoying who was without all the plot armor, rather than being a toxic Mary Sue.
You don't know what this word means
I love the batfamily they're all about trauma, and each of them had it in some way differently. but supermans family is motivated by hope. But I think the bat family's slogan with regard to this trauma is "justice not vengeance"
Thanks for making me cry this early in the morning! Shit I love that edge lord punk ass kid.
i miss being 7years old watching son of batman for the first time
Another excellent video, Leo. o7 mate.
He's not my favorite Robin, but I'd be lying if I said he hasn't grown on me
Tim might be my least favorite these days, which is probably exactly what DC wants
Really didn't expect to cry today.
Don't care what people think damian is my fav
Dammit Damian!
"This is a line we do not cross"
@@deeznut709 *kick*
Then stay on your side
That was a fucking Master Piece
As much as I never liked, and still don't like, Damian; I can appreciate his arc over the animated movies.
I live your intro dude. Great video. Thanks
Direct to video Starfire is adorable. Maybe do-err I mean cover-err I mean, analyze her next?
omg man I’ve been WAITING for this one😆
I personally liked Damian Wayne robin and Jonathan Samuel Kent superboy as his little 10 year old self as the super sons mostly because that team is really awesome and tons of fun.
Def already got answered but mystery song is madness by muse, my family was an avid muse household so I know that song like the back of my hand
0:09 the stare
Great Damian moment in the comments;
Stephanie Brown: -and stop staring at my chest!
Damian: What chest?
Steph: ...HATE...
I've been crying all day. The dick jokes made me laugh for some reason. Thank you, I.P.
All your videos are excellent
brooo i was waiting for this one
i just looked at these comments and i’ve seen far too many saying damien and not damian. it’s damian.
amnesia for timdrake haha well dc comic don't know what there with timdrake they really don't have any idea for tim and just made him representation robin after 20 year of being strait i actually really like what joshuawilliamson is doing with damian in comic especially his robin series in 2021 and the shadowar event and the batman vs robin series after start the new teentitan comic he was not progressing thank god dc comic has start to progress again looking forward to new batman series in september
Damien's character works best against other side characters.
Dick
Raven
Superboy (Jon)
Etc...
