Welcome back, we haven't got the new Scouts this side of the pond yet, but I like the look of the Classic the 101 looks good I do believe you can get mid control set up on the 101.
Thanks, nice to be back for a few videos! It’s a great update! On a 101 I’d put floor boards on, handlebars that come way back, a back rest, and still just rip around locally! 🤣 If I could change anything about my motorcycle history, I’d have kept my original American graffiti-esque Scout Icon!
Indian also sells front control extensions for a couple more inches to straighten and lower your knees a bit. I'm thinking that might ease the clam-shell feeling a bit. Of course I'm 6'3" so reaching the bars is not an issue.
A few times after upshifting I felt a rubbing sensation in the clutch when I was letting it out. Only happened a few times and I guess I forgot about it by the end of the ride. Can’t say there’s anything wrong with the transmission - could be a demo bike thing, or could have just been me for all I know. 🤷♂️ I’ve never had any issues with the transmissions on my Indians.
Architecturally, the engines in the 1250 cc Scouts vs an FTR are completely different. Bore and stroke are different. It’s not a comparison between two models.
@ They actually don’t feel anywhere near the same. The FTR engine is an angry beast in comparison and the specs for hp and torque are also both higher. Have you taken the time to check this?
No, it was at Indian Motorcycle of Fredericksburg. I don’t think I’ve seen Chesapeake Cycles do a demo day tbh. Just a good reason to visit Fredericksburg! ✌️
I wonder how many time you said FTR ????? its a 101 we were interested in :-)
🤦♂️ I know, I know. But they’re very similar, and that’s what I’m riding now, so it’s only natural I’d talk about it. 🤷♂️ lol
Would luv to test ride in this major city in syd nsw aus but almost near impossible atm
Spring’s around the corner, right? ✌️

@@KenOtwell haha yeah, I think it’s more about the reach to the bars than the controls for a shorty like me! 🤣

Fair enough. They sure feel the same!

@ I own an FTR and I’ve ridden the scout. Enjoy your “specs.”
