    Have you ever done an accent wall before?
    Also, I found out a hack for this product if you have textured walls. Use spray adhesive to help it stick better if you have a textured drywall.

    I have done the same thing on a wall in my livingroom. I found some really cheap wood look planks at Ollie's in a weathered gray for $14.98 a box. It only took me 2 and a half boxes to do a wall the size of the one you just did. Hopefully your adhesive is better than mine was cause I had to end up using a few small brad nails to keep them up. We have cheap flat paint on our walls from the previous owner and I feel that if the wall had been painted in a semi gloss or satin it would have stuck better. Yours wall look so good and thank you for sharing. I have seen another UA-camr make her own shiplap out of white foam board from Dollar Tree and used paint to get a wood look finish. It looked almost as good as yours. People with less income find great ways to fix up their houses. Much love and good luck with your pregnancy.

      Thank you! And great suggestions. Spray adhesive works wonders if you have some pieces that aren't sticking well

      It is likely it would have not have adhered better over semi gloss, because the slicker paint gives less “stick to”. Your solution sounds perfect though. I started a project using a product called “cedar backer board”, kind of a thin bendy product, to cover a wall that has some damage. It worked out fine, except we didn’t buy enough and it appears it is never going to be restocked. 8 (. We didn’t want to spend much, but now we will have to remove it and find something else.

    Having done shiplap, this is a winner! No power tools! And it looks great! Is it paintable? Can’t tell from the video,, does it look like real up close. I love that it is washable! What a bonus! Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest now while you can. Blessings for you and your growing family!

      Wonderful! And if you can't get your wall surface to be smoothe then try adding some spray adhesive if needed

      Good idea. With the temperature differences an rv is exposed to, I'd definitely recommend the extra spray adhesive method

    Hi Corey, you’re a lovely
    Person. I’m 58 and we
    Gutted and rebuilt our
    Little house as well as DIY ‘d everything. I just wanted to warn you so
    It doesn’t have to happen to you. I go to bed every night with my hands throbbing. It’s not gradual either (cause
    then you could taper off)
    But in just one painting job they went from okay to ruined (always use a sprayer) It’s mostly from pushing with pressure (fingers) and grasping tightly (a tool
    Or tying twine tightly even.) we are nothing
    without our hands!

  • @jaynebrown693

    Hi Cory ! WOW…how easy is that ! Does it have a smell at all ? Some times those peel n stick things have a chemical smell. But being sensitive and as careful as you are, I figured you would tell us.
    I watched a lady take her Peel N Stick paper off yesterday and it ripped a layer of her new dry wall off ! She had to use a hairdryer to heat it up to pull it off. Must be different brands are stickier than others ! This was an education to see both sides of Peel N Stick !
    How are you feeling. Has the nausea stopped ? 🙏
    Thanks for sharing this easy home refresh !

      This product is not sticky enough to cause that kind of damage. Yikes! It also doesn't smell. My pregnancy is going very well I have an appointment today for my routine pregnancy diabetes test and they always check the heart rate so I'll be sure to include an update in the next video. Thank you Jayne! Hope you are doing well too

    Are these the same peel and stick products available at Lowe’s or Home Depot?

    • @DesertDIY
      @DesertDIY  3 роки тому

      No, this is a different brand. I believe the ones at home depot are thicker so those would be more difficult to cut.

    • @DesertDIY
      @DesertDIY  3 роки тому

      We had previously sanded it before we put on thr wallpaper so we didn't sand again this time. I had some pieces unstick because the wall wasn't smoothe enough so I used spray adhesive to set them better and it worked

    Followed product link. On sale at $89 for 12 boards. $7.40 per board. Looks like you used 4+ boards across and 13 down.. About 450 bucks for one wall with these. Plus tax and shipping?
    NO THANKS!

      If it is not in your budget that is understandable, but it is very comparable to the price of shiplap and doesn't require tools so it is an option for those who don't have tools but want that shiplap look. It is also a viable option to those with physical limitations.
