Now that we have a pretty healthy lineup of gaming portables, it would be great to have comparisons of how well games run on all of them. For eg some deck vs ally 2 vs ally would be cool for us to decide what to buy

Black Mesa does look much better than the original and having forgotten much of what happened in the original, is worth buying imo.
Did they finally fix it?! When I played it through in July of '22 it was having some VERY rough times getting through some scenes. I'd play it again if it was a stable 60fps all the way through.
There are some stress points, but as long as you use Proton instead of the linux version, you will be good :)

On a desktop gaming rig Black Mesa still has the same issues, except it drops from 144+ fps and maximum settings to 40-50 (with low CPU and GPU usage, of course, not because hardware) 🤣 So don't blame Steam Deck too much

How to enable it? I'm guessing some command line, but what exactly?
Yes, you need to add the following launch command to the game: PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 %command% , although, now that I did more research, since Proton 5.0 it should be enabled by default
