You are a godsend for these settings! I’ve been looking for the best way to play this game my Steam Deck, and now I have a good balance of performance and graphics! :)
I have 12 things set on ultra including textures, X16 filtering, everything else set to medium except all water set to low/off. No vsync or triple buffering and I'm getting 31-38/39 FPS except in camp I get 28-32 fps. There is room to increase geometry and grass detail slider but I just leave them off. I can post my settings if someone wants. I'm on proton experimental.
Hahah I found out the problem I messed up the settings I had like something something on high instead of shadow quality on high, anyway thanks for the settings
are you using cryo utilities, and do you know if i put it to 4 gb of vram will it have any negative impact since I have only seen 2023 reviews that said it didnt work with RDR2
Bro. The disgust you startle in me. Somebody works to gain this info for you to just apply it and you complain? Clearly you live away from the real, harsh world and reality. Puny underling.
The fps or the quality ? I actually upped the fsr to quality instead of balance and and locked the deck at 30fps. It’s perfect for me (actually playing right now as I’m writing this) Basically the PS4 experience .
@@azorsa8988 oh, I read that wrong. Yes, my fault. I used the same setup I stream with and I forgot to put the gain higher, will keep that in mind for the next video. Thank you for letting me know :)

Hey thanks a lot for these settings! Do you think you could try Ghost of Tshumia on the deck when it launches on May 16th?
Of course. Already pre ordered :)
awesome looking forward to seeing the results :)
for people who don't like 30 fps lock use 40 45 will feel as 60 and battery will last a bit longer
I agree that 40-45 is MUCH better, but which of these should I drop? He's getting 38-39.
40-45 fps rather than 30 will *certainly* not improve battery life, it will hurt it.
More frames= more power required.

Wow these setting look really good!
Glad I could help :)
@@SkyKnight also I have a small question, anytime it puts me into a cutscene/montage when riding a horse my game crashes. Do you know any fixes?
@@Mr.BARBOZO try verifying the game files again. No ideea why it happens, never happens to me.

Never used cryoutilities. I don’t know.
Cryo Utulities for the most part gives RDR2 performance boosts on steam deck, just near water is where the fps will dip a little bit
When i play rdr 2 on my steam deck it sometimes locks to 10 fps for about 1 min then jumps straight back to 40 fps anybody know how to fix?
Do you use proton? And battery life?
Yes and 2-3 hours
@@SkyKnight what version of proton?
@@kurishida experimental
How did u unlocked the custom button on the water in settings?
You need to unlock advanced settings. There is a prompt there
How much tdp do you use? 9 watt or more?
Idk, default. I didn’t mess with those
Why does it look so blurry
Probably you’re watching on a big screen. The steam deck output resolution is only 720p.
@@SkyKnightno it's because you put fsr 2 to balance, so the render resolution is around 430p. Dude just use fsr 3 mod
I copied ur settings and even lowered some of mine but why am i not hitting 40 fps?
Because these settings are for locked 30fps .
How do you record youre gameplay bro?
I use a capture card.
Tdp limit?
None, i don't even know what that does so i don't use it :)
I will never understand why a video instead of writing on a website something like this
And yet, here you are! Watching and commenting. Not too bright are you
@@wizardfight who told you I watched? Something people just write something useful in a place called description
@LucaCorsini so you're criticizing a video that you haven't even watched? Doubtful. Go find a website for this info then, you half head
