Finally a proper test/review. I say that because I'm so sick of the fan boys complaining about vibration on the skil when they don't hold down or clamp the materials being cut. The material is bouncing around all over the place and then they blame the saw. As "pro's" would they try cutting unclamped or held materials with a hand saw?... NO! Tbh rather than speed I'm interested in whether it can cut the material, cost, reliability and warranty period. Thanks for a great video.
I have almost the entire line on skil 12v pwrcore. I use them all the time for diy projects. I LOVE THEM.. ESPECIALLY THE IMPACT DRIVER AND AUTO HAMMER
My m12 surge has a delay in the self tapping screw mode. Honestly i have grown to like it and i am pretty sure that technique programed in the drill has actually helped me become faster drilling self tappers
You're correct. Skil brags about its slow-start feature; it's for safety. I like mine. I use it strictly for pruning bushes and trees, with a 4.0AH Skil battery. Vibration control is excellent.
I definitely don’t like that feature on this tool. It would stink if you had to make repeated cuts. Not saying it’s wrong (why I did not factor it into the score) but def not for me. Vibration is def good on the Skil. Better than both the other saws.
@@zacksintheshop I totally get that. Skil's and Makita's barrel-handled 12-volt jigsaws have a similar slow-start delay. But on the Makita, you can disable it for good. I own the Skil PWRCire 12 jigsaw and I like this feature on that saw, too. But then, I'm just a dabbler who hardly ever uses his tools.
With that 12v skill kit its the cheapest when you consider a kit price . With that said all of them get the job done. Currently i run dewalt and Milwaukee, but if something happens to them i would get a Hercules or metabo hpt ( ryobi or rigid also considered but i dont live by home Depot)
The tool does suffer a little if you go 2 AH battery (sold in the kit). I noticed slower times compared with the four amp hour. Saying that, I will try to visit the Milwaukee saw using the new high output batteries.
Thank you for the review!! I really like that skill aside from the lag lol honestly I could get used too it! Do you think it would perform good against the 12V Dewalt Recip Saw?
Hello, the video is very good, I am writing to you from Santiago de Chile 👌 I am interested in the saber skil saw, I have seen that it is very good, do you recommend it? Because I also like Milwaukee, Bosch and Dewalt but I have seen several videos and Skil doesn't look bad, it looks very good, I saw it on Amazon, I did plumbing and electrical work, I think it would be a great purchase, do you recommend it? Best regards from Santiago de Chile atte Jaime
If I understood correctly the Skil had 2 batteries for the 120 dollar cost. So how the hell is it fair to just slap the price of the 4 Ah battery on top of it?
Skil and Black and Decker for the blue collar guy.... AIN'T IT JUST AIN'T IT 😜 lols.... not everything in life needs reciprocating quickly sometime slower is better....😊😜😎🤓😆 Vibration may also come in handy.
I have the SKIL and I LOVE IT!!! AND FOR THE PRICE IT'S GONNA BEAT MW ALL DAY EVERY DAY!!! ESP SINCE I GOT MINE ON CLEARANCE LAST SEASON FOR 16$$$!!! BEAT THAT!! I also got the 2 drills for 16 a piece! And I just got the circ saw in that SKIL line! It comes with charger and 4 hr batt! Got it on their sale for 79! I'm fan of saving money on my diy projects. If that gets me a better tool, well that's a super bonus.

Awesome vid Zack ... I like Skil and also Black & Decker but that's just me ... Keep em coming ... Thx
Absolutely, thanks Eddy. Something about classic brands
Are the Skil 12 volt and (some of) the Ryobi USB Lithiums the only tool batteries that allow you to charge a phone or other device from?
Thank you for the review!! I really like that skill aside from the lag lol honestly I could get used too it! Do you think it would perform good against the 12V Dewalt Recip Saw?
I think it will do well against DeWalt, but I will try to confirm in the future. Your welcome.

밀워키와 스킬 중에 뭐가 더 비싼가요?
한국에서는 밀워키가 2~3배 정도 비쌉니다..ㅜㅜ
In USA, it is the Milwaukee. Skil is a bargain here.
You didn't test the battery life...I bought the Skil and returned it because of the battery life was too short.
Let's compare durability, drop test, reliability, and warranty.

Use them daily and report back in a year. Then tell me who wins
Just remind me in a year.
@@zacksintheshop Its one year :p
I don't think any pros are buying skil. For diy there 12v line is great.
