Hi from Scotland. I have a 2 door Golf. I have wanted to see more of Scotland and Ireland in my car. I don't need to be too self sufficient, but the fact that you gitted in a bed in a 2 door car is inspirational! Im now going to work out the best layout for mine. Thank you for a great video!
I have the same car and currently considering converting it like this - had no idea you could independently take the seat cushion out and have the back lay flat. That's a game changer!
This is awesome! Thank you. I have a 2010 VW golf that I am thinking of converting. I bought a van for me to travel and my dog but there’s a lot of things wrong with the van so i don’t have the money to fix it so will probably end up selling the van. I’m planning on going for 2 to 3 months with my dog and I think it’s going to be awesome
"If you're taller, it probably wouldn't work" - DAMN! I'm 6 foot-even and just crawled into the back of my '05 Golf TDI, passenger side, front seat cranked full forward - it's like 2" too short for me. Not giving up hope yet, though. Nice portable setup, man - so efficient and flexible!
I have a perfect solution. Most people I have watched was them sleeping with their head towards the cabin/front of the golf. I am 5’8” and even I had issues doing that in my 2012 2dr golf. But after I got home from sleeping uncomfortably. I realized something (a little to late lol) that if you sleep with your head towards the back, it will be a easier space for your legs as long as the front seats are push forward. You’ll get a few inches of feet off the seat. But it beats sleeping with your knees bent at a 90° angle
I got a 2 Door golf pretty recently and have had the thought in the back of my head ,"Do I have Sports Camper?" Look like I do!!! I'm wondering how easy it is to take out that passenger seat, I think as long as I left the rear seat in like you did I'd be good if anyone needed a ride. But if the passenger seat was nixed this thing would be golden
I have a 2008 Mitsubishi colt. I took out the back seats. I have lots of space. Im only 5'7. I even have a toilet. Its perfect for my weekend trips all over Norway.
always viewing video's of small 2 door with hatchback converted to 'camper'. i currently have a '99 Honda Civic Hatchback...& possibly looking for Realistic/Comfortable ideas for 'STEALTH-Weekend-Urban-Camping'! CHEERS!
Thanks for sharing dude, but if you're out by yourself, why wouldn't you want to take out all the seats except the drivers? And did you consider a roof rack and box for additional storage? Edit: saw your roof rack, but no storage on top?
Hi Daniel, yeah I spent two years living in Korea as a missionary. I still have the bag which I bought there and of course Shin Ramen just happens to be the best ramen out there.
Hey dude, would love to know how your doing with this set up now that it's been some time since you released this video. I'm about to do up some make shift set up for my 3 door hatchback car also which feels impossible but I'm excited.
Unfortunately I only had that setup for one summer while I was traveling. I’d say just go and try it out but don’t commit too early to the vagabond life. 😅 I’ve known several people who jumped into the vanlife only to realize they didn’t love it.
Man this, dumpster diving, homeless shelters, welfare card, salvation army wardrobe, panhandling, occasional malt liquor ...... veritable American dream we got going on here.
Cameron lived in Korea for two years and is fluent. Its wicked cool going to korean restaurants w/ him and he converses w/ the people who work there. Its impressive.
Some people don’t worry about resale if they don’t plan to do it, some people are like you and negative and worry about nonsense. You watched the video right?
I have a 4 door. Thus guy managed to ser it up in a 2 door. You give me hope lol.

Tanks for sharing your setup - I'm looking to camp for a couple of nights only in my mk7.5 in Scotland visiting the Loch Ness area on a budget. :)

I also took off all the seats except the driver one
I really need to see it, did you think of posting a video from your Golf?
The air cooler and heater...how does that work? I really need any info on how to for my mini conversion car. Any info you have would be appreciated!

you're very lucky to have that civic hatchback!
Great ideas and well done.

Spotted the Korean Flag and military bag and some Shin ramen! any story behind of it? lol
Hi Daniel, yeah I spent two years living in Korea as a missionary. I still have the bag which I bought there and of course Shin Ramen just happens to be the best ramen out there.

Hi there new subbie! QUESTION, how tall are you in 5’10 and thinking about doing this in my Hyundai Veloster lol nervous tho
Hey Justin! I’m only 5’7 so it could certainly be challenging for you but I’d love to see how you solve that problem!
Man this, dumpster diving, homeless shelters, welfare card, salvation army wardrobe, panhandling, occasional malt liquor ...... veritable American dream we got going on here.
He said he was going to be doing this for a month, not forever. It's called saving money whilst having some fun camping.
