I've loved Ike as a character since I first played Path of Radiance many years ago in the Game Cube era, and I'm happy that he's finally a good character, but man he is so boring to play and watch! Neutral air, down throw, or down tilt into an aerial, with the occasional forward aerial on shield or dash attack. That's pretty much Ike in a nuttshell. It's a shame, because Ike is one of my favorite Fire Emblem characters, and my favorite Fire Emblem protagonist. At least I have Shulk who is incredibly fun to play and watch, but man he is even harder to play in Ultimate than in Smash 4!

Yeah I wish that Sakurai would add a Fire Emblem character that doesn't use a sword for once. Axe, lance, bow, whatever. I love Hector! The Blazing Sword has such great characters! Lyndis is my favorite lord from the game though.
Its punishable too, people complaining about it but people will get better at parring and punishes. Mkleo is just a little ahead since he is a genious.

He's also taller (so he will get hit more=bad) than the other swordsfighter so as time goes on slower characters like ike and dk may fall off a little.
@@JiWoo1337 Marth is good but he's one of the few sword fighters that lacks a good kill setup/kill move because they nerfed Jab 1. He can ledge trap well, but you absolutely have to hit the tip to kill somebody off of a ledge trap. Chrom and Roy can kill you off of a jab at the ledge and Ike can catch you with nair, which can catch multiple options and combos into multiple aerials.
People using ike in smash 4: hype! People using him in ultimate and making it far: Cheap Yall are dumb, they finally buff ike to a point where is is viable (most of the characters in this game are) qnd most are now complaining. Make up your minds. Ike has limited tools to his disposal and isnt flashy, never was so its kinda obvious he would exploit these new confirms to the point it would win him games. If you all learn how to parry ike is done so thats gonna be his weakness and ofc his recovery. He is strong but not without a doubt well rounded.

Fifteen First of all you can play Ike the same way you play Roy or Chrom, all you have to know is dodging and grabbing fundementals just like any other chars but other than that these sword chard have no combo game

Honestly thought you left without the pound, but it was hard to see in the MKLeo player cam, that was my bad. I get being upset though, it was a close game 4 with the crazy stock comeback. I'm going to edit the end of my comment so people realize you didn't walk off without a handshake or whatever, good on you. Hope you bring the good play to Genesis too

Especially when people have much more elaborate pop offs after they win games or sets. Emotion is part of being a person, and keeping mine bottled up mid game when I can quickly let some steam off doesn't seem like a great thing.

I mean,... everything happening in the game are already the results of calculs. So, you don't have to actually "calcul and anticipate" if someone is gonna die in a fraction of second at each hit.... the game knows it, right away. Otherwise it couldn't show it on screen. However the freeze cam definitely happens before DI-ing.
It got explained in some video, it's because the zoom in happens on frame 1 but DI is calculated from like frame 11 or whatever so there's still the chance you could live, they could've made the zoom in happen after DI is calculated so it is accurate but then it would look pretty stupid, zooming in over 11 frames after the actual hit
Ike: the character that's learning me to play Smash... and use short hop fastfall nair. Actually very useful for a newbie like me to at least learn some basic smash techniques while still getting punished while accidentally inputting a Smash or missed special ;p
Well Ike also has throw combos at low-mid percents and he can space with fair and bair and possibly f tilt so when you combine those two approach options the nair set up becomes the mix up and you can still find them occasionally. I think Ike will be just fine even if parrying comes into play.

Though Cloud has been nerfed because it... let's say it wasn't in this game's spirit, probably. Ike true combo nair into up air is pretty uninteractive and happens from a safe move at 80% roughly. It simply doesn't fit in ultimate in my opinion.

Mkleo is just very good at spacing probably the best and he showed that in smash 4, dominating metaknight, cloud. MARTH who are spaci characters.
