He's said that he didn't really like the way fame went with LB, and he was pushed by his label into acting out into the commonly perceived Fred Durst persona. It's part of the reason they made their label release "The Unquestionable Truth" with no promotion cos he got sick of the publicity. He even accepts that Limp Bizkit aren't popular in America anymore, which is why they rarely play NA anymore. They still pull crowds in Europe which is where they go most often, because rock and metal have a much stronger audience there than in America.
Never understood why people hated him/them so much. Most people I think just disliked Fred. Most peoples argument is that they were just a cover band and the other is that they "sold out" to go mainstream from their early work. Either way they were the shit for quite a few years. Awesome tracks to work out to, and still are, although Gold Cobra absolutely SUCKED! They were also a victim of the changing music scene. The 2000's saw the death (murder) of hip hop and alternative for the garbage that you hear to today that the millennials seem to listen to for whatever god fucking knows reason.
Yeah I don't understand it either. Maybe because I never saw an interview with him, just wasn't interested in that sort of stuff. I saw them live before gold cobra came out and that shit rocked. Always loved results may vary and the starfish record.... basically grew up with them.
I don't understand either. I listen to music, not to singers drama or private life. (Can't remember the iconic person but all the same.) Saw them live 3 times and loved each show. I hope the dude is finding happiness with whatever he's got going on.
I like Fred. Great guy so humble to fans and is very kind to the papprazzi. The hate on Fred and Limp Bizkit is ridiculous. They are a very talented band and have released great music. I am happy that Fred is doing very well a man who has aged like fine wine.
I don't like these dudes, but I do believe that if they could write a truly great, catchy album, People might give them a second chance. Especially if they got some of the newer, younger rappers to rhyme on it, they could potentially reinvent themselves.
no one was hotter....they were on top of the mountain for more than fifteen minutes. Some really great jams....great mix of genres. Still rockin Limp Bizkit!
I feel like I don't even need to watch this video to figure anything out. He was a singer of a nu metal rap group that rose to fame in that genre's short-lived heyday, and when the genre, and his group, died out, he didn't go on to do anything else with his celebrity status.
As soon as I saw this video I was about to say "He's been filming a lot lately I heard". He started dabbling in it with some of their own music videos but as time goes on he's doing more and more in that way, wasn't aware he was acting but it doesn't surprise me at the same time.
Damn, Ukraine was like get that shit outta here. RATM took a shit on this guy because he said they were one of his inspirations. And then durst was like yea whatever. I never really liked limp bizkit but durst seems like a good guy.
Great! Who says he disappeared? He’s into different genre now, good for him. I actually respect that. Just shows that an artist is flexible with many different interests and is exploring new ideas. Awesome!
I can explain this without even watching the video. He was a mediocre musician with an amazing band and when the guitarist Wes Borland left, music progressed and Fred Durst was too stupid and untalented to keep up with the change. But I don't think anyone should underestimate the band around him. John Otto was a fucking incredibly original drummer. Wes Borland is still to this day, one of the most underrated guitar players ever and whoever the fuck the bassist was, was also pretty good.
Wim Harleev They didn't, you're just an idiot and have zero comprehension of originality or talent. Opinions mean very little. Talent is universal and Limp Bizkit will forever be more relevant that you could ever hope to be, because the band was and still is, incredibly talented.
corvusala good lesson to know. Ppl aren't just stupid, but selfish, petty, greedy, violent, and narcissistic. It's human nature. It's not natural to rise above that weakness. You learned a good lesson.
Don't really understand what you mean. They play instruments Wes Borland is a beast on guitar. The write their own songs not like today, drake for example no musical talent talks shit into a microphone and edits on a computer like 99% of the trash that comes out today.
Not a big Bizkit fan, but if Fred Durst himself wants to make a comeback, he needs to direct more music vids and movies--he really shines in those areas, I think!
I was a closet bizkit fan. Everyone I knew would shit on them so much, I was scared to admit that I liked them, even though I never felt like I had enough of a reason to like them?
Fred had a personality that made him well known around town. He had no fear and would push the limits a bit. But Gastonia was a pretty rough place in the 80’s and wearing a multi zipper Micheal Jackson jacket and a white glove while rapping and skateboarding kinda ask for it. Bullied? Maybe, but not because he was weak. Because he was ahead of his time and not scared to be himself. Respect 👊🏻
Uhm, no. I've never cared for jazz, and like improve jazz I'll turn it off, or change the channel/leave the area. I can tolerate some forms, but in very small doses.
I listen to a lot of Avantgarde metal, a lot of which mixes harsh stuff like Death metal with Jazz. I'm not a big jazz fan by itself, but mixed with metal it's a glorious thing.

Because the lyrics are extremely whiny and angst filled, wasted the talent of Wes Borland, and Durst is one of the worst frontmen in music history

(Can't remember the iconic person but all the same.) Saw them live 3 times and loved each show. I hope the dude is finding happiness with whatever he's got going on.
Saw them live during the LB/Korn tour in the UK, and I've gotta say it was one of my favourite shows! Absolutely insane and they've still got it!
What have they got? They had nothing to begin With!
You can say what you want about their music but they always had a terrific live show.
DM Punk they do ?
I like Fred. Great guy so humble to fans and is very kind to the papprazzi. The hate on Fred and Limp Bizkit is ridiculous. They are a very talented band and have released great music. I am happy that Fred is doing very well a man who has aged like fine wine.
I don't like these dudes, but I do believe that if they could write a truly great, catchy album, People might give them a second chance. Especially if they got some of the newer, younger rappers to rhyme on it, they could potentially reinvent themselves.
Matthew Coolness NiCe!😉
You mean the new mainstream younger rappers?
Mmmm, nah thanks. I still like the way it is.
no one was hotter....they were on top of the mountain for more than fifteen minutes. Some really great jams....great mix of genres. Still rockin Limp Bizkit!
I came here from the Weanie Roast!!
i still listen to them, and I am pretty sure they are doin' ok, despite it becoming a dumb fad to diss them/him
I feel like I don't even need to watch this video to figure anything out. He was a singer of a nu metal rap group that rose to fame in that genre's short-lived heyday, and when the genre, and his group, died out, he didn't go on to do anything else with his celebrity status.
Fred and Limp are in Europe making music and money! Lip Biscuit is on the road up!!!
I still listen to bands like Limp Bizkit pretty often.
"Here's Why Fred Durst Basically Disappeared"....
Music evolved. He didn't (outside his Jazz efforts).
Tech News for Tech Noobs music devolved, but we always have New Tendencies
Nothing has evolved.
These days.
Music is 💩 er than ever before.
Because it comes from 💩 minds.
As soon as I saw this video I was about to say "He's been filming a lot lately I heard". He started dabbling in it with some of their own music videos but as time goes on he's doing more and more in that way, wasn't aware he was acting but it doesn't surprise me at the same time.
N together now was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Damagedone56 hell yeah it was
Only the beat and meths parts were good
It was, but re-arranged was their best song.
SDallstar Very true. N together now was a banger but didn’t feel like a Limp Biskit song. Re-Arranged is a classic.
Damagedone56 depends on which version you're talking about
Never listened to him much but did see him do "Sanitarium" on a Metallica tribute show long ago and he rocked the hell out of that.
Damn, Ukraine was like get that shit outta here. RATM took a shit on this guy because he said they were one of his inspirations. And then durst was like yea whatever. I never really liked limp bizkit but durst seems like a good guy.
Anthony Mayor So why hasn’t Tom Morello or Tim Commerford apologized for being such Communist cucks?
Great! Who says he disappeared? He’s into different genre now, good for him. I actually respect that. Just shows that an artist is flexible with many different interests and is exploring new ideas. Awesome!
Can't wait for their new album! If it comes to light.
Rammstein, Slipknot, rage against the machine, rhcp...
What if now wes borland joins back limp bizkit?
Just the thought
I started watching this and quickly realized I don't care and stopped.
Yet cared enough to comment....
Fred Durst is arguably one of the most under rated Artists/Musicians in history.
You're being sarcastic, right??
I can explain this without even watching the video. He was a mediocre musician with an amazing band and when the guitarist Wes Borland left, music progressed and Fred Durst was too stupid and untalented to keep up with the change. But I don't think anyone should underestimate the band around him. John Otto was a fucking incredibly original drummer. Wes Borland is still to this day, one of the most underrated guitar
players ever and whoever the fuck the bassist was, was also pretty good.
I agree. Fred was lucky for having talented musicians around him.
Sam Rivers was the bassist
Remai The Finest yeah, his voice is an acquired taste and that’s why a lot of people hate it. But I enjoy it. I like the whole style
Wim Harleev They didn't, you're just an idiot and have zero comprehension of originality or talent. Opinions mean very little. Talent is universal and Limp Bizkit will forever be more relevant that you could ever hope to be, because the band was and still is, incredibly talented.
If everyone talks about how underrated Wes Borland is, is he really underrated?
Met Linp Bizkit outside Trls studio back in 01 went down on their drummer and still have a signed drum sticks
Forgot to mention that my mans Durst is associated with the rapper Bones nowadays
Right? How could media not cover BONES?
SESH
Limp bizkit is one direction with rap and instuments
Good to hear... I always like him!
Limp Bizkit helped me trough my mid teens to early 20's. I will always have an ear for them.
This band's success really made me lose respect for the main stream. They helped me realize how stupid average can be.
corvusala good lesson to know. Ppl aren't just stupid, but selfish, petty, greedy, violent, and narcissistic. It's human nature. It's not natural to rise above that weakness. You learned a good lesson.
I agree, but even average is better then Limp Bizkit
No you’re just stupid
Don't really understand what you mean. They play instruments Wes Borland is a beast on guitar. The write their own songs not like today, drake for example no musical talent talks shit into a microphone and edits on a computer like 99% of the trash that comes out today.
What was the deal with Taproot?
IMO the only rap/metal band that was good was Rage against the machine.
Ryan Thomas i like P.O.D. too, as far as that genre goes but yea RATM has that locked down 🤘🏻
Ryan Thomas
Run DMC was good
Beastie Boys 👍 can't really say rap "metal" for them though I guess
Ryan Thomas I feel you
Body Count and RATM.
Not a big Bizkit fan, but if Fred Durst himself wants to make a comeback, he needs to direct more music vids and movies--he really shines in those areas, I think!
I used to hate Limp Biskit, until I opened my mind and gave them a try. I eventually realized that that band is fucking awesome.
I was a closet bizkit fan. Everyone I knew would shit on them so much, I was scared to admit that I liked them, even though I never felt like I had enough of a reason to like them?
They suck and you're stupid for liking them.
Who else thinks that there music still is different from anything else and I miss them so much
Generation X!
Generation strange
We need Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit back for one more album and one more tour across America, come to Chicago please!
"I'm about to do to you what Limp Bizkit did to music in the late '90's!"
Haris Pendić Deadpool
Love it!!!
trc2rockon such a bully lol
Make it better?
Compared to music now, they were ahead of the game
shut up stupid millenial kid
My children and I saw Limp Bizkit 4 days ago in Auckland, New Zealand-OUTSTANDING!
Still a hardout band, always Th Bizkit!
"What happened to Fred Durst?"
That's what Fred Durst wants to know.
Respect 👊🏻
Fred Durst is a legend
Josh Becque no, no he isn’t.
yes, he is.
So is Vanilla Ice
Nightdare - LMAO
+Nightdare typical edgy comment
3:20 "If I'm not all about jazz now then why would I be wearing this hat?"
Once you hit middle age, everyone starts liking jazz.
True. But I liked it when I was a teen as well, and even more so now, in my 40s.
LOL
That's some bullshit. I'm middle age(48) and I've loved jazz since my teens.
He is pushing 50. He is a senior citizen
Saw them live a month ago. Still a fucking rocket launch
Used to hangout with the guys in jax beach in the Nookie days ☺ he's cool
eddie money absolutely not, he was shorter than me 😁 Drank beer for a few hours then we ate grilled hamburgers on the deck. Big house party at the beach.
eddie money 😂😂😂😂😂😂 was gunna say the same shit
eddie money I'm short . And I just fuck Spanish chicks. Problem solved .
+Kari Waska You didn't bang just because he was shorter than you? LMAOO... L.
Talked like a true roastie
At 50, I'm happy to say that I've just rediscovered them. To bad for the all the ecstasy I was taking in the 90's that I totally missed their beginnings.
