it would help to prep the trunk surface by claying, then alcohol wipe down, then using adhesion promotor.
I also bought it as it was 75 and 10% off, too. There is no guarantee any of the spoilers will be perfect as even OEM carbon spoilers have defects and defective installations. I'm probably going to just tape it overnight and be careful not to get it wet in the first 48 hours.

Good DIY vid. Mine came in today so I searched for an installation demo. My MY is white with so I went with the matte black finish to match my chrome delete, too.

Great video, brother! I have my spoiler in hand, just need the LRMY to come in! Thanks to you I will be installing the spoiler first thing so it can cure while I install many other goodies! Loved the video! One tip - use your mixing software to get your levels to stay...well...level ;-) The sound clips were much louder than your mic and it blasted me out a few times! Could you please provide an update on how it is holding up after 3 years of usage? I really don't like Carbon Fiber stuff, but I am afraid that this will look too cheap and plasticky in real life.

I also have a MSM model Y with blacked out emblems going on soon. I've been in the fence about matte black or color matched spoiler. This looks great.
Matte black is a great subtle accent. You'll love it!

I just installed mine and the right corner isn't as "snug" as the left side. Nothing I do gets it seated any better. It's a very small gap. Oh well hopefully the 3M tape is strong.

i had my detailer install mine. The left hand corner is coming unstuck and it's like that corner is not matching the body. disappointing

I just bought the matte black spoiler thanks to this video. Thanks! What was the measurement at the end of the spoiler to the end of the panel to place the spoiler evenly? About 6.5”? Spoiler is on back order so won’t get it until the end of May...
These are purely for looks right? I can't imagine this adhesive spoiler will generate much downforce.
I have a question…. Do you go through the car wash with it? I just did what you did except the blow drier part. And it’s like 45• degrees here 🤦🏻♀️

Hi just received my Tesmanian Spoiler for MY however the corners were popping out by about 1/16" you need really to make pressure for them to fit perfectly in the corners. I'm concerned in the short time they will be detached. I will return before install...
That’s normal. It should be fine with the adhesive. Worst case scenario if it fires detach you can add a new 3M adhesive.

Yea I drove with the tape on for a few days and I think it really helped with adhesion
Installed mine and went through car wash four or five times so far, and it still sticks and looks good. It fits very well too. Recommended.

My wife even closed the garage door onto it and it’s still holding on nicely.

What do I do if there’s give after installation, when I press in the bottom middle of the spoiler? Is that okay?
Yes mine has a little give as well. It won’t be like stone
Any recommendations if it hold every where but the middle of the spoiler? I’m wondering if I’ll need to eventually put 3M tape.

how has the adhesive on the spoiler held up after these few months on the car? is there any visible gaps between the spoiler and the body now that it's been on the car for a while? thanks.
Update 04/25/2021 Spoiler started to lose grab in various spots and is lifting from the corners likewise many photos available. Note as well my review of the product WITH photos was never update on TESMANIAN website even though I was verified with "Judge.me"
Very disappointed with this product.

You missed a BIG STEP did not show the adhesive promotor wipes or cleaning the surface of all contaminants, you should edit this video.
You're right - I did that step but it didn't make it's way into the video. It is important to clean the surface as much as possible to promote the adhesive. Will consider on future videos. Thanks for watching and....subscribing??
Can I take the tape off after 30 hrs .Will the adhesive be set after that
Yes it should be set after that if the weather isn’t cold. The longer you keep it taped the better. I wanted to rip it off immediately to see the finished product but I was patient and it was worth the wait!
@@teslapapas I followed the video .I made it flush at the top .is it flush at the bottom as well "0" gap at the bottom .because on mine I can see a gap at the bottom even though top is good .

How did you get your dual motor on the back green?
Plastidip! I did a first coat in white then the top coat in neon green.
The first day after getting my MY, I opened the tail gate and forgot to set the limiter. I put two snake bite chips in the paint when it hit my garage door. I’m going to try and repair it with Tesla touch up paint. If it looks funky, I’ll try the spoiler but I’m concerned that it won’t stay with our insanely long Minnesota winters. What do you think?
It will stay as along as you use some 3M adhesive promoter prior to putting it on.
And I thought I was the only one 😂. I got my Y last week and did this second day. Anyways hope yours was a very small chip because that’s what mine was as I screamed sone profanities at the last min and held the trunk so it was just a minor touch, but enough to take the paint off. Got the touch up and buffed it. Don’t even see it. Installing the spoiler today which I wanted to anyways. That will definitely hide it.

I have my Y wrapped in Xpel Stealth, you think i would have adhesion problems?
I don't think so just as long as you give it time to cure. You can always check with manufacturer.
