@JQ Louise Any latest update on the spoiler after you have it for a few months? Does the edge lift after a few months like many ppl complain? Will be great if you can do another update video about the product after you have it for a few months.
I use to have this issue on a couple of amazon spoilers. All I did was removed and raplaced the last 12 inches of tape with actual 3m tape. Make sure you heat gun the tape before installing the spoiler to activate it and make it more sticky. I have had no edge corner lifting in about 1 year and a half now. I have ran it through brushless car washes many times also.

Be careful in garages or others tight spaces when opening the trunk. I learned that the hard way with a previous car and dinged the trunk edge. Dislodging the spoiler would be a pain. The opening force of the MY is pretty strong & tricky to stop while it’s lifting based on my experience with my MYP.

Looks great. Did you ever consider just removing a a couple of inches of tape and as you push the spoiler down, pull the tape away (top and bottom) and push that section of the spoiler down?
When we test fit the spoiler off camera we practiced a couple different install methods. This spoiler is reasonably flexible and our primary concern was making sure the middle was aligned and the top row of tape secured properly. When we practiced the corner method we weren't as confident as putting it on at once from the middle and pushing the corners down. We have a family member with a Model Y so we may try a different manufacturer / other install techniques on theirs in the future :) Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
agreed...the proper way is to pull the tape as you go so that the spoiler will not only adhere properly, but it will also allow you to seat the ENTIRE width of the tape onto the car...the way you did it unfortunately it will catch water and eventually start to fall off...

Installation:
I cleaned the area with dawn soap and water to remove all coatings and oil, and dried the area.
I test fitted the wing on the trunk and marked a final location with masking tape (showing where edges will be)
I then took some alcohol and cleaned the area even more and waited for it to evaporate.
I took a blow dryer and heated the trunk area a little for 5 min.
I stripped just the corners (about 4 inches) of the red adhesive backing off and set the wing aside.
I used the adhesion promotor provided and wiped the entire area and waited about 15seconds before putting the stripped corner of the wing on the car.
Using my tape as a guide, I paced the wing down without too much force...just enough for that corner to stick a bit.
I played the rest of the wing down and slowly removed ALL of the red backing from the entire wing and lined up the other edge before pressing into place.
After the wing was pressed and installed I used the blow dryer to heat the area again and pressed more firm This time, adding tape to the wing to hold it down. on the corners and 2 pieces in the middle. (You want to create a downward and a forward pressure with the tape.
The tape SHOULD remain for 72 hours for proper adhesion, but over night to 24 hours would be the least amount of time I would wait. This procedure allows proper bonding with the tape and the metal because what people fail to realize is that the tape is Pressure bonding tape...the more pressure and heat (to an extent of course) the better the bond.
after that remove the tape keeping downward pressure with your hand as you remove.
after 72 hours, you are free to power wash the car and area as the tape would have now cured...and for those who will only wait 24 hours...please wait an additional 48 before washing the car or exposing to rain. if it does get exposed sooner..be sure to blow out any water with an air compressor and apply pressure when you can with the blue tape.

Looks pretty good. 👍 The question is, how will it hold up in winter months, car washer & if you don’t have a covered garage it could take on some heavy wear & tear, unless you get a car cover. In my option & buying experience, I would have went with RPM Tesla, Abstract Ocean or T Sportline . Enjoy your new spoiler 😁

Agree! We are still trying to find a local shop and the time to take the wheels off. Maybe a good time will be when we replace the tires. We seem to be wearing down these tires a little faster than on other cars with all the instant torque :) Thanks so much for watching!

Looks like a fake performance model y now.
The MYP has a carbon spoiler, bigger wheels, and larger/painted calipers so there are still some noticeable differences. We liked the design and matte black color of the spoiler to complement the trim. Thanks for watching!
