Spider-Man Collection Glenn Webb Tribute - 5POA Action Figure Evolution
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 вер 2021
- Glenn Webb was a pioneer of action figure video content who tragically left us in 2016. He was my introduction to action figure reviews, and the person who inspired me to want to make action figure videos too. In this video, I pay tribute to his incredible legacy with my own spin on one of his most beloved video series, Action Figure Evolution, where we chronicle the history of one character in action figure form. In this video, we take a look at my personal favorite superhero, Spider-Man, with a deep dive from Mattel's Secret Wars to now.
If you are a new collector, or maybe just never heard of Glenn, definitely check him out. All his videos are still online for you to enjoy. If you like my content, please do me a favor and give it a like. I put a LOT of work into this video, and your likes help to make sure more action figure aficionados get to see it. You can also follow 5POA Figure Reviews on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. - Розваги
Ah man....Glenn was awesome. R.I.P mate.
Oh yeah. He was the best.
So I’ve been watching a dead guy without knowing it?
@@Nate_-pl6ln I like to think that film and video is it's own kind of immortality.
Yeah he is awesome why did he died again?
@Ilik3Music sudden death
The time and effort put into this video really shows. I've missed these since Glen's passing.
Thank you, I really appreciate that! This was a video I wanted to make before I ever launched my channel, and I have been just overwhelmed by how much people enjoy it.
q
Idk how many times I’ve watched this video. Every time I get a new Spider-Man figure I’m drawn back here.
Thank your so much for sharing that with me! I really appreciate that!
Not only this is an absolutely awesome video, but it also does feel like a Glenn Webb video. This is so perfectly made.
Thank you SO much, that is the highest compliment I could receive. Glad you enjoyed it!
Game here for glen web he was the goat of action figures specifically marvel figures he got me into modding and when he passed I stopped watching figure reviews for a couple years god rest his soul 👏🏽👏🏽
He was the best, absolutely
R.I.P. Glen Webb, you will not be forgotten.
Never.
I grew up watching Glenn Webb, this brings back memories, I’m happy you made this
I'm happy you found it!
Nice to see someone carry over the legacy of Glenn Webb.
RIP Glenn Webb. Thank you for this. He inspired me to collect figures and make custom figures. I was a kid watching his videos. I'm 20 now.
You're so welcome. He was the best, and he left a wonderful legacy. I am glad he could introduce you to collecting.
Glad YT recommended this video. You did a great job providing a history lesson of such a beloved character/figure. It will be an invaluable reference as time goes on because how many action figure historians are there actually out there? Great tribute to Mr. Webb as well.
Thanks so much, I truly appreciate that!
Still miss glenn...
Well done
Thanks so much. Yeah, Glenn was the best.
Oh my god I love this video. Glenn Webb was such a good youtuber, and you did a great job paying tribute to him :)
Thank you so so much! If you enjoyed this, I just came out with another Evolution video for Storm from X-Men.
@@5POAFigureReviews alright I’ll check it out
Give it up for Toybiz. They had their share of misses. But they sure did lay the groundwork for todays golden age of action figures.
Absolutely! If not for Toy Biz, we would not have the articulated collector-focused figures of today.
Very glad I randomly bumped into this video. Wonderful tribute to Glenn and introduced me to your channel which reminds me of the energy he used to have but with a spin of your very own, subscribing for sure!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it
I dunno why but there's something really charming about those older figures with metal joints.
There is. I love how far the engineering has come, but they really bring me back
I really miss Glenn Webb if he was alive he would love new Spider-Man action figure
Yeah, he would be over the moon with all these 60 Amazing Years figures.
“you could slip him into your current marvel legends and he would look just fine” is so accurate. i have the magnetic spider-man 2 figure with all my other spideys, (which are all from 2015 and after) and he fits perfectly
I was just thinking the other day that I don't give nearly enough love to the Toy Biz Spideys when doing figure comparisons. I really need to do more to celebrate them. Still come real winners.
This was awesome! I found it looking for secret wars Spiderman. I had the black version as a kid and it ranks as my favorite childhood action figure. I had no idea they had become so articulate! Loved the compilation.
Thank you so much! I am glad you liked it.
catapulting Spiderman from toy biz 2002 was my first spiderman ever, i played with him so much that my dad used to make little band aids so that he would stay together, and i would bring it with me at the kindergarten every day, untill one day i lost it... and the fact of loosing him made me idealize this figure for years cuz wanted it back, because i rememberd it as my favourte spiderman at the age of 2/3, nowadays i tracked down my figure, again "catapulting Spiderman from toy biz 2002", and i dont like it at all, but to get back what ii've lost, many yers. ago, i'm tempted to buy it, and it will always be my childhood hero, and my idea of how a figure should be (but because of i used to remember the fig, not for how actually it is)
5:52 You need more appreciation for this moment right here😭😂
Thanks lol it's been so long I had to click and see what you were talking about ha
And then you get the amazing fantasy Spider-Man that released this year.
Already got him! I'll get to him soon
Yooo this was a fun watch. Excellent work my guy, as someone who enjoyed Glenn's content when it was new this really hit that sweet spot for me in terms of presentation and structure.
Definitely gonna keep an eye on your content, love your energy.
Thanks so much! That means a lot.
Rest in peace Glenn Webb
truly the all time greatest.
Really appreciate how much time you put in these videos, Glenn would have been proud 👏
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me.
I love everything about this video, so concise and executed perfectly. Lovely work
I really appreciate that! Thank you!
Thank you.
I think the Mego stuff was very important both the taller figures and The 3.75 plastic figures were great and I think vital to the overall evolution of the character figure.
Yes. In hindsight, I wish I had not glossed over Mego. Glad you liked the video! You're very welcome.
Awesome video, and great tribute to Glenn Webb. Can you believe in 2000 there was a Spiderman with pinless elbows and knees? 22 years later Hasbro acts like they do some groundbreaking work when they release a pinless figure, and most of their figures still have pins despite their price increases.
It's crazy. I'd love to see how Glenn would feel about everything we have now.
@@5POAFigureReviews I know, he would be loving so many awesome action figures that have come out. Again great review, you got yourself a sub.
Catching up on your previous videos! Love this Spider-Man review. The Sensational Six Spider-Man shot is Spectacular!
Thanks!
Glen made my childhood
He was truly one of a kind
I've been missing Glenn's uniquely laidback review style. His videos provided a genuinely serene break from the chaos of everyday life.
Yeah. He was one of a kind.
I really miss Glenn. I just found this tribute. It's a great job. You have earned my subscription.
Thank you so much, I truly appreciate it
This was an amazing tribute to Glenn
Thank you so much! If you enjoyed this, I have another Evolution video on Storm.
@@5POAFigureReviews awesome
I miss Glen web :( he is what really got me into figures and was my absolute favorite.
Though I have been a collector most of my life, he definitely got me into toy reviews. I still go back and rewatch a lot of his stuff.
This was a peaceful watch.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate that. I have another Evolution video on Storm that you might enjoy as well.
That was fascinating thank you for sharing.
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it
That's it! Glenn Webb is the reviewer you remind me of. Respect to you man!
Thanks so much, I really appreciate that. Glenn was my intro to figure reviews and my biggest inspiration. If anything I do makes people feel how his videos made me feel, I am glad.
@@5POAFigureReviews Glenn was my first introduction to Marvel Legends. Any doubts I have in buying the figure, his reviews made sure what I was going into. He was one of the good ones.
It amazes me that metal pegs were still being used well into the 90's.
Yeah Toy Biz really cut some corners at first. They really came alive in 96
Great breakdown 👏🏼
Thanks!
This is awesome videos! Also, I can see how you impress by Glenn and respect Glenn! I miss his review...😢
Thanks so much. Yeah, I miss him a lot. I still watch a lot of his old videos.
He was my inspiration for customizing
His customs were awesome! I still remember his video on Mania in particular. I am amazed Hasbro still hasn't made her, but I don't think it would be as good as Glenn's.
God I miss Glenn Webb. you did well with this tribute. I remember he said he'd never do an action figure evolution on regular spidey with how many toys there are of him
Thank you so much. Honestly, the only reason I was comfortable doing regular Spidey was because he hadn't. He was one of a kind.
12:38 Just wanna say, while there's barely even a difference, the figure you have is actually the vintage Spider-man rerelease, the differences are that the vintage Spidey is far less shiny then pizza Spidey, and the blues brighter with a different logo. Great video also, absolutely loved it.
You are completely correct, and I probably should have mentioned that. Great catch!
Amazing work!
Thank you so much!
Awesome content, man!
Thanks so much!
Love your vids man
Thank you!
That was a damn good video.
Awesome Video Great Job!
Thank you so much!
This is a great video! Given how many new spiderman's have come out frrom Hasbro alone, it would be awesome to see an update to this vid. :)
Thanks so much! My plan is to do similar videos for other Spidey looks, but I do have an idea for a fun way to look at some of the new ones that came out since then.
Really cevolución! Great work
Nice way to remember Glenn.
Love to see a video about Punisher figures evolution!
Thanks so much! I have a lot of ideas but hadn't considered Punisher before. I'll definitely add him to the list of possibles!
I remember when I heard he died if not for him I wouldn’t know to see how far my figures legs can go with the feet still flat on the ground
The day I saw the video that he died was actually my birthday. I was already in a funk that day and it really knocked the wind out of me. At that point, he was the only figure reviewer I watched regularly. I would have honestly said he was my single favorite channel on YouYube. If I ever do the feet thing, I definitely think of him.
Awesome tribute
Thank you!
5POA Figure Reviews welcome dude thanks for the ❤️ on my comment!
This video was amazing
Thank you so much!
Excellent review. A journey to the past and present #spiderman
Glad you enjoyed it!
good video, I remember Glen had good content on his channel, thanks
You're very welcome. He was the best, and I think still the benchmark.
nice
excelllent.. perfects.. spectacular I cant express it enough.. amazing..
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
miss glenn he also started my collector journey
There will never be another like him.
Damn i miss Glenn man was so sad when he passed i think i was around 12 when i found out Rest his soul
He was one of a kind.
As much as I miss Glenn and his amazing videos I’m happy he doesn’t have to see the current state of hasbro
9:42 this is my fav
Oy! Glad your channel popped up in my recommendations!! Nice to sub to other reviewers!!😉😀😎
Glad you like it, and welcome aboard!
@@5POAFigureReviews I'm looking forward to seeing more!
Great video
Thanks!
Hey man I love these videos! Do you think you could make an action figure history video on Symbiote spidey? I would love to see that! Thanks!
For sure! Glad you liked it.
I miss Glenn :(
Me too. He was truly irreplaceable.
very informative
Thanks so much!
Dude, I really miss Glen too :(
The true Marvel Legend.
Great channel. Hope he does an evolution of hulk figs!
Thanks so much. Slowly building my Hulk collection so I can do just that.
Hey Jason, I am a huge fan of your channel and was wondering if you would do a Green Goblin Evolution? He's one of my favorite super villains of all time and would LOVE to see an evolution video on the character if you ever get the chance!
Thanks so much! I've actually been looking at Goblin, Doc Ock, and Lizard as all possible Spider-Man Villain Evolution videos. I fully intended to do all three eventually, BUT maybe I will just have to prioritize Goblin!
Love your videos
can you do more evolution
Thanks so much! Several more coming.
i like to see captain america in 90 s and right now😍🤩
Funny you should say, then, I have been thinking of something along those lines.
3:03 I had this as a kid but I threw it down the stairs and it shattered into a million pieces. The arms and legs are fine but everything else is beyond repair
I say “as a kid” like I’m a grown man but I’m only a teenager
Hey man it's all relative. Compared to now, you were a kid. When you're 25, you'll think you right now was a kid, and when you're my age...you just try not to think about it lol
♥️🔥
I got the Marvel legends retro wave classic spiderman on May 5 2021
Awesome! It's a great one.
@@5POAFigureReviews but this June 2022 I got web man
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Of all these figures I had like more than half of them 🤓
Nice!
For the super poseable spiderman for 4.94 what is the name of it I really like it I’m from Ireland so would I be able to get it I rlly like it and would use it for stop motion
Toy Biz Marvel Super Heroes Multi Joint Poses Spider-Man. Word of caution, though. The diaphragm and neck joints are connected by a rubber band, so they they might not hold poses between shots for stop motion. If you it, though, I'd love to see it!
What’s really interesting is that prior to the 2002 movie figure, there was a Series 2 Spider-Man Classics figure that had bicep swivel! However, this figure is so rare that it’s SUPER expensive lol.
Also, idk what this is is, but ever since around 2015, there’s been this generic front logo that’s been used on a lot of Hasbro Spidey figures that I absolutely hate. It’s also on the awesome Marvel Select figure as well! For some reason, I HATE this logo with a passion
So the term for that (in painted figures) is tampo. The logos are essentially stamped on, which is why they are always so precise. Hot Wheels started it back in the 70s, but you see a lot of it in Kenner era superhero figures, as well as Mattel. My ASSUMPTION, though I don't know for sure, is the the specific logo is given and determined by the license holder (So, from Marvel to Hasbro in Spidey's case) to maintain brand consistency, since these logos are trademarks and are Marvel and DC's bread and butter. I also speculate that Pizza Spidey and Spectacular Spider-Man were sculpted by the same person, much like how Gentle Giant sculpted both 80 Years Hulk and Immortal Hulk.
Yeah that logo pisses me off a little bit with how much it's used in promotional material, figures, and shows. From what I can tell it's been the standard Spidey logo since 2010 or so. What especially pisses me off about it is that recently, Hasbro announced a Spider-Man and his amazing friends three pack based off the old show. That figure uses the dumb modern logo despite the fact that's not even the symbol on the costume in the show. Marvel really gotta change up the logo.
12:55 nitpick: this is actually not the original pizza spidey. it's from the vintage collection. sneaky!
I should have specified in the video honestly. But it is technically Spidey with a pizza so... lol
@@5POAFigureReviews Yeah same sculpt, minor differences. As I said, just nitpicking lol. Keep up the good work!
Omg I have that first fabric one for $2
Oh wow that's awesome!!
The spider man classics figure looks like the mafex spider man
Very true!
10:21 Is just your average Tiktoker
Ha! Pretty much lol
I have the 2002 super posable spider man
Nice!!!
oh man, what would have Glenn thought of Marvel legends right now. Back then they were kinda trash but now Hasbro has been killin it with their figs, some are a miss but mostly are a hit! And by now he has a lot of action figure evolution vids IF he were still alive....
Yes, I still go back and watch a lot of his videos and every once in a while think how happy he'd be now.
I think he would have loved ML these days but not the new prices (I assume).
I think you are exactly right
GLENN WEBB DIED! i DIDET NO THAT!😢😭😖😣 RIP😔
Yeah, he passed back in 2016.
That's not the original Pizza Spiderman. That's the one from the retro series. I'm looking at the real one now on my shelf and it has a much darker shade of blue paint.
Yeah. In hindsight, I do wish I specified that it was the reissued version. The red on the first release is much richer as well.
You forgot the 2002 buddy classic Spider-Man series
What about spider-man ps4 classic suit figure?
I have the Gamerverse figure but I considered it too much of a variation from the standard comic look, so I chose not to include it. I really just wanted to show the progression of the basic comic book Spidey look though the years and how action figures engineering has evolved.
12:33 That’s a fake one, but its good
No it's not. I bought it in person at a store. The thing I did fail to mention in the video is that this wasn't the first release but the gray retro card reissue.
10:43
Spidey getting a little sneaky peek lol
Describe tackle lol toy Spider-Man I got that actually my brother do
Toy Biz es el mejor no superado por Hasbro
Muchas figuras de Toy Biz siguen siendo buenas, pero creo que prefiero Hasbro. ¡Me alegro de que te gusten!
Glenn Webb tribute? Clickbait...
Its a tribute to gleen web because gleen made action figure Evolution, and this video Is supposed to be a spiderman action figure Evolution,so yeah this Is a tribute of gleen web
