Nice, I sold my OM about a decade ago and I’ve been looking to replace it, but I was wondering about the back & sides, but I wasn’t sure about sapele wood. It’s nice to see that you can get a solid wood Martin under a grand.

I have this guitar in the grand Performance body shape. I've had it for about 4 years now and it sounds even better after being played almost every day. It is easy to play and with the Richlite fingerboard, no worries about fret sprout, etc.

Ive had mine for a little less than five years and I couldnt be happier with it. I wanted a Martin for close to 2 decades before i finally got my D10 lol. Anyways id owned a few mahogany acoustics over the years and figured I should probably change it up and go for versatility with the Martin so i got the SItka Spruce top and Sapele back and sides version. Certainly no regrets there. But i will say id still love the Sapele version and if id gotten it id still want the Sitka version lol. I think this is a killer guitar that plays/feels and sounds every bit as good as something like a D18 or D28 etc. Sure those guitars are going to have a gloss finish which is easier to maintain and more traditional tonewoods but those a negligible upgrades. If like me you dont often find yourself thinking "hmm i wonder what ill do with all this spare cash" then the D10e is a fantastic option.

I have a nice Martin but in my collection is a 1982 Yamaha 335 acoustic/ electric and honestly, the yamaha is the better playing and sounding guitar.

I own a Yamaha L12S N, FG5, and a FG500. All sounds amazing, However, Martin has a very unique sound. I will never say one is better than the other, because of the tone each manufacturer chooses.

Great video!! i bought this model and the sound is fantastic. What should the string height be at the 12th fret? Mine seems pretty high out of the box at 4mm at the 12th fret (low E string)

Mine definitely needed a setup as well. I believe on acoustic you want between 2 to 2.5 mm. I went very low as the fretboard is richlite and isn't going to flex with the weather as much.

Great review! Martin and Taylor are so expensive. Check out the PRS acoustics and the Epiphone IBG masterbilt versions of the Gibson Jumbo’s. They offer a lot of value for the money and all under 1K.
